Holiday Inn Express Katong is a very new hotel which only opens for a week or so, its right in a neighborhood area of Joo Chiat/Katong and there are quite a lot of interesting shops to see nearby. Lots of construction in the area around the hotel as there is a mass development going on, its located right beside a shopping mall with lots of cafe to browse and the hotel itself is located above a new shopping mall that has yet to be open. Tourist that are new to Singapore might not find the locatio... Read more

Stayed on 11 June 2016. IHG Platinum status was recognized and was given a room on the second highest floor with an amazing view of the city! Woke up to sunrise over the horizon. Room is modern and well designed, though visitors from overseas should note that the queen bed in Singapore is basically the same size as a full in the US. Breakfast was typical holiday inn express but service was quick to replace food and clear dishes. I also had late checkout at 4pm due to the Great Singapore Sale ra... Read more

Great new hotel located in the vibrant Katong area in the east. We are very familiar with Singapore so it was great to stay somewhere different and explore the local food scene, the famous Katong laksa being very nearby. The rooms are on the small side but modern and well designed. Loved the fact there was free wifi and breakfast which was served in a brightly lit and open dining room. Would recommend this place to business or leisure travelers looking to explore a different part of Singapore.

I have stayed in many hotels in Singapore but this one is truly special. Great breakfast, wonderful location, great connectivity to airport and business district. Shopping malls with in walking distance and plenty of 24hours eating joints in the vicinity. Located in residential area, it is quiet too. Loved it!!

This is just a great place for single travellers. Room is nice and staff were friendly. Would definetely stay here again in the near future. The location of the hotel is near some good local hawkers and nearby a few malls so its easy access. The fitness corner is a bit not too spacey and I think its rather small but its okay since no one really is using it during my stay here so my overalll experience is really good.

So you must beware about the sign board Check in processing is quick and simple . Lobby is small and beside lobby is restaurant . Room are nice , clean and minimalist . Surrounding are a lot of restaurants , street hawker and malls . Good location for food lovers and most the restaurants open till midnite .

Finally found a reasonably priced hotel in Singapore with rooms decent sized rooms, relatively sound proofed (except when hordes of tour groups insist on convening in the corridor at 1am to discuss tomorrow's plans- agggghhh). Better than the average mid price hotel in Singas. Recommended.

We spent three nights here from 6 to 9 July 2016. Despite being a bit remote from the centre, the hotel was really new, the staffs were friendly, the room was spacious, and almost everything seemed to be in order. However, we encountered a false fire alarm in the morning of 8 July, which was rather unpleasant for someone being in the shower at that very moment. Beside that small setback, it was a pleasant stay.

Hotels in Singapore can be very expensive and value for money is hard to get. I have rarely been satisfied with accommodation in Singapore. But Holiday Inn Express came as a surprise to me. It provides basic but very clean and adequate room facility with a raesonably good breakfast for the budget tarveller. Rooms are small but in comparison to what you get in budget accommodation in Europe and Australia this hotel charges a fair price for what it offers to the traveller. One of the shortcomings ... The location of this property is on the quieter part of East Coast/Katong and is easily accessible from ECP. You may need to guide taxi drivers as it is a new place and no one knows about it. Very young and inexperienced check in staff were not impressive. Spoke to Mr. Karim, a manager who helped out with some issues I faced. We were in Singapore for some shopping, and once we finished, there was hardly any room to pack, even a medium sized check-in bag looked big in that room!
