I treated my mother to her 1st trip to Russia as a birthday present. She now regrets we didn't opt for a 'multiple entries into Russia' visa, as she loved the trip and the hotel. Room : The deluxe room with a Moika river / Hermitage museum view was large and perfect. But maybe some people might be disturbed by the street / Moika cruises boats noise, even at night, and might prefer a room overlooking the hotel atrium. A nice fruit basket and china dish displaying pralines and macarons awaited ... Read more

I came back to this hotel to re love the great experiences I had before, after the good welcome of the nice staff, everything was total disappointment after that. I booked deluxe but the hotel this time tried to sell me a very standard room ( you hardly can move around the bed ) as agrand deluxe - I say this because and I familiar with the type of rooms the hotel offer because I stayed before in three different categories -. When I refused that room and insisted to have a grand deluxe room I was... Read more

We had a surprise of champagne, fruits and chocolates in the room. Breakfast is huge with a lot of options including hot dishes you can order. The staff is helpful and ready to be at your service at any time. The best thing is location, everything is with a short walk and easy to get to. The only thing that can be better ... Read more

The Kempinski Hotel Moika was good choice when we wanted to visit Petersburg. Perfect location of hotel, just 200 meters from Hermitage and main square. We receive free upgrade of our room and the service during our stay for just perfect! Hotel is clean and accurate! The restaurant BELLEVUE BRASSERIE is really must! Food there is delicious and the view with terrace is amazing! I recommend this hotel to all travellers!

My new expensive leather jacket was damaged by the staff during the room cleaning. As a compensation, I was offered a repair service which is not going to bring my jacket to an initial state and allow me to use it. So the stay in the hotel cost me 1000 Euro. This was my worst hotel experience ever.

Absolutely excellent location!! Within minutes walking distance to lots of attraction spots in St. Petersburg!!!!. The hotel is only minutes away from the Hermitage, Winter palace, Savior on the spilled blood, St Isaac's Cathedral, Neva street. Also easily to walk back to the hotel after having a night view of Palace Bridge in St. Petersburg. On a side canal street, which makes this hotel a quiet, relaxing feeling. We selected Kempinsky Moika 22 for a 6 night stay due to prime location and support for English speaking tourists. We used the full range of services from the hotel and found the standard very high across the board. Ahead of the visit the concierge was able to secure premium tickets for Diana Vishneva at the Mariinskiy, quite a challenge. Tour options were available, but quite high, so we opted for an outside service. We were able to upgrade to a canal view room, beautifully maintained with ... Read more

We chose Kempinski as our base to explore St Petersburg and enjoy the Red Sails celebration. It's location is perfect for visits to the Hermitage, Saviour on the Blood and river cruises. There are many good restaurants nearby - try Idiot and Literary Cafe. We must especially thank Yelena, the very knowledgeable well connected concierge who suggested and booked the best restaurants, arranged taxis and found last minute tickets for the White Nights concert and spectacular river show. As others have commented, the location, roof top view, concierge and breakfast are all outstanding. And for a first time visit to St Petersburg, this hotel is hard to beat. But we left feeling that the there are some aspects of service that were poor. We took the time to politely notify the front desk of the mounting number of service failures, but they failed to recognize the need to respond to us. The hotel is conveniently situated on the Moika Embankment and within a short walk to Palace Square, The Hermitage Museum and the Winter Palace of Peter the Great. Breakfasts were below average and very limited food. Restaurant and room service were great food and worth the stay for that alone. This is not a typical Kempinski. I had prepaid accommodation due to visa issues. However on check in they debit my card without permission for the entire 4 night stay. They refunded but it took 4 days to get it back and limited my spending in Russia.

The struggle was with elevators as they operate separately despite being next to each other. So to move faster you call them both and definitely other visitors make the same.
