We spent almost a week in this hotel my family and me. The best of the hotel is the complete breakfast. The worst is the customer service. In most of the places we visited people are nasty and unpolite. We are sorry they suffered a lot during communism but truly speaking if they want to keep growing as a main tourist destination they must change 180 degrees their behavior. For the rest the hotel is beautiful and a ***** Stars hotel well deserved

30 of us stayed in this hotel for my Mother in Laws 60th Birthday celebration. The hotel had amazing service, great breakfast and very accommodating. When we wanted to do something in the city they recommended places to go, tour guides to use and what to stay away from. I felt very safe and secure. This hotel is close to everything and lots of shopping in the area. We stayed for 5 days and were able to do lots of things including the ballet. The original room ("superior") was small and viewed a wall. We were moved but charged a fee for a better room. Meanwhile, no pool or spa facilities, as they are being modified. Not a great start. The manager later sent a bottle of wine and fruit and agreed not to charge for the upgrade after some discussion.

I stayed here for 3 nights and had a good time. It is very well located, a few minutes away from the Church on the Spilled Blood and other attractions. About 20 minutes from the Hermitage and River Neva. Friendly and helpful staff. It does feel slightly old fashioned when you walk around and dark in places. I only ate in the cafe which was ok if expensive. I had caviar which was an extremely small portion (10g) for what I paid for it. Bar was good and I certainly enjoyed the vodka degustation. T... This is a very classical hotel in all senses and dimensions, but it feels good to be take care of and listened to when you have a question. The rooms are nice, provide sufficient shading from the sun (very important in the white nights) and very accommodating. Internet works like you be at home. The breakfast is held in the wonderful restaurant "Europe" and provides everything you can wish and think of. Also pay a visit to the very stylish bar they have. On my list for next time visit !

Stayed 5 nights with larger group of 10. This hotel was much nicer than our five star hotel in Moscow. Customer service was outstanding - anytime I asked for extra water or an iron, it was brought to my room immediately. I believe I had a standard room but it was quite spacious and well appointed with coat hooks, mirror and small ledge upon entry, desk with three plugs and an adapter, and separate sitting area. I have never had such hot water come out of a faucet or shower immediately - a ... Read more

I was in that fabulous house 25 years ago when the USSR disappeared and was not disappointed as the hotel is extremely well kept. All public area reception rooms, bars and breakfast room with its original glass and decoration A problem though has to be noted: the bed mattresses are much too soft for people who have a bad back. A wooden board had to be added....

The hotel is in a very good location all attraktives are easy to arrive. The rooms are little bit old and there a re to less place for the luggage and clothes. The breakfast is excellent and the staff very friendly, the most of them are speaking a little bit English. If you go a the bar or in the restaurant beside the drinks, coffee are very expensive.

This hotel is near the city central and near everything including the Orthodox Churches and restaurants. The service was very good and every time you returned you are greeted by their staff. Viktor specifically was smiling at every time and very joyful. Evegny was also very helpful with getting taxis and making sure we were taken care of. The front desk staff was helpful in getting me the transformer I needed. They delivered fresh fruit and chocolates to the room. The breakfast was a huge array ... Read more

Belmond Hotel Grand Europe in St. Petersburg is absolute perfection. From the moment we got out of the train in Finlyandski station, and saw Aleksandr waiting for us with one of the hotel's Jaguars, we felt pampered. We had asked for a specific room, which we'd had before, and we got it: 359, a marvellous room with an unforgettable view of the City Duma and Gostinny Dvor. Every staff member was friendly and professional, and happy to be of service. We wish to thank especially all the ladies from... Read more

This hotel combines Old World luxury with superbly friendly and helpful English-speaking staff and excellent food. I can't say enough good things about it. It even has an outstanding in-house pastry and chocolate shop. This hotel is the standard against which all other hotels should be measured.

We were fortunate to reside in one of the best luxury hotels that the city has to offer, The Belmond Grand Hotel Europe during our visit. This 'grand' elegant hotel from the pre-revolutionary days revealed every modern amenity one could possibly imagine. Breakfast at the hotel was a feast every morning and reflected a global theme but naturally, we got to taste traditional blintzes topped with Russian caviar! We dined at several restaurants all over town and loved the food wherever we went. Fore... Read more

My husband and I stayed in the Belmond Grand Hotel for a few days in May. I was overwhelmed at how lovely the city is, so much to do and see. One of the few cities that I am already planning of making a return visit. The hotel was superb, excellent service and attention. Whether at the reception, where they found a plaster for my aching feet to the fabulous restaurant and bar - where the service was as delightful as the cocktails and food. Excellent

The hotel definitely exudes refinement as soon as you walk in the door. You immediately get a sense of the historical grandeur and can tell this hotel is a cornerstone of what defined luxury accommodations in St. Petersburg. The staff there is incredible, especially the concierge. They were enormously helpful in not only making suggestions and reservations, but their expertise in picking places that fit our age and interests made our experience that much more enjoyable. We paid 1000 Euros for three nights in a double room and there was no breakfast included. A bit of a rip off. The balcon was rusty dirty and small. The breakfast-buffet for 60 euros per couple was ok but not a five stare adventure. The restaurant called ,market' some steps away offered a better breakfast for 10 euros. The room was beautiful the staff very friendly. All in all: very expensive but not a real thrill for this money. There are better places in st. Petersburg

The hotel and adjacent restaurant and bar had the best service I experienced in St. Petersburg. Obviously, I didn't go to every location in Petersburg to measure against, but this was some of the best service I have experienced in traveling. The staff was courteous, knowledgable, and genuine. Everything was easy - which is what I like during a vacation. The bar food sandwiches and drinks were 4.5 of 5 and restaurant was 5 of 5. This hotel is well located just off Nevsky Prospect and has excellent facilities. The period decor is wonderfull. The service was outstanding and the concierge service one of the best I've encountered. The room on the second floor was not exceptional but good with excellent bathroom and toiletries. The bar with live music was a must to unwind before bed coming back from an evening out. Great Hotel, a little pricey but woth the money. I certainly recommend.

Great location in a quiet side street of Nevskij Prospekt. Nice room and bathroom with heated floor. Air conditioning a bit too loud for me - had to turn it off at night. Hotel provides electric mosquito repellent, but I did not need it. Slight minus because my room was not entirely cleaned (half-used water + shampoo bottles left behind, chips on chair) despite a 3pm check-in - improved on second day. This is a luxury hotel located in an excellent major tourism spot of St. Petersburg. We stayed 4 nights there, room is spacious enough with good facilities. However, I told the receptionist if there is any chance to change a newer or harder mattress for my room ( another family member stayed in the next door has a nice comfy mattress) in the first morning. I did not have any luck as I have been told the hotel is running out of new mattress till the day I checked out.

We stayed at the Belmond during St Petersburg Fashion Week and it was everything we could imagine in luxury from the champagne cavair breakfast with a piano player to the large imperial styled rooms. The bar on the ground floor mixed some great gin and tonics too. It was centurally located and in walking distance of the Church of the spilled blood and the Hermitage.

We only went for dinner and after being delighted with the old world charm in the restaurant, and enjoyable classical concert and ballet taking place whilst the meal was served were most disappointed with the meal. The starter "egg on egg" was pleasant enough , with some salmon caviar on top of scrambled egg served in the shell. The main course was quite dreadful.
