Not expensive and close to VDNH subway, which will take you to the Red Square in aprox 25 minutes. It is a monster building, and if you get a room overlooking VDNH and the Space Museum, it is much better. It STILL is in the Soviet Union decoration wise, and my room was very early 1970s. The good thing is it has everything inside, including a post office so I guess It was built for poeple attending events at VDNH. If you are not that picky, you can save a lot by staying here. I read it hosts a Ru... Read more

Moscow is a very beautiful city and there is lot to see BUT as a tourist it is vital to stay at a place where it is safe and secure. That is tough as some of the hotels are very pricey BUT hotel Cosmos is situated in a great location and for a great price. You can get a room here in a high floor with an excellent view of the city for less than $70 a night which is a great deal. You can walk to the Red Square, Kremlin, Duma, Arbat street and more... Airport is 20 min away by taxi. Hotel Cosmos ... Read more

I was there during winter for a business trip, hotel is close to the subway, after you cross the street. Hotel looks great from the outside. When to check in there were 2 people working, when to check out there were 3 females working one was older, and two younger, two younger were chitchatting the whole time non-stop and the line was about 5 people, they didn't help at all, when I asked if they can take the next person they were rude and said no. The older lady, was very kind and helpful. Room ... Read more

I first stayed at the Hotel Cosmos in 2008 , when I met my wife Iren. We decided to return in March once again. By far the Hotel exceeded our expectations. Apart from many unhappy comments on sites. The hotel was modern, the restaurants were excellent, view from room breathtaking and there are also great restaurants and the Cosmonaut Museum a block away that holds Michael Collins flight suit from the 1st lunar landing which amazed me. A must see museum. Breakfasts at the Kalinka far surpass most... Read more

Having read the reviews on TA I was expecting the worse. But actually this is OK as a basic 3 star hotel. It has (almost) all the basics: the rooms are a decent size, there is a perfectly serviceable bathroom with plenty of hot water, and the sheets are clean. A few things are missing: hairdryer only available on request for example. But then there are nice surprises: good free wifi throughout the hotel for instance. The decor and furniture is very old of course but it is now so old that it won'... Read more

The sheer size of the Cosmos is a little intimidating when you first see it, but it turned out to be a very friendly place to stay. Besides, it fits right in because in Moscow, everything is big. I had arrived hours earlier than 2 PM check-in, and was going to ask if I could store my bag somewhere. The desk person changed my room from a double bed to two single beds because one was ready at that early hour. Very accommodating. The room itself was fine. Had a great view from the 22nd floor.... The hotel was very good during the Former Soviet Union. Now is became a very average hotel with average service and room facilities. The hairdryer was not working and you need to ask staff to bring another one. The bed linen was clean but very worn out . The staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good.

I am writing this on my last evening in the Cosmos Hotel in Moscow. I really don't know where to begin to list the appalling experience it has been to stay here. When we first arrived we were shown to a room straight out of an English boarding house from the 1950s with a television to match. The room was smelly and dirty and after many phone calls carried out with various people with very poor English we finally were dealt with by Daria, one of the Managers, who not only had good English but ... I stayed here for 3 nights and was impressed by the size of the hotel. The moment you enter the rooms you are appalled by the state they are in, the rooms need a serious makeover. The view is excellent though , you can see the Aerospace musueum and the big park behind it. Breakfast is ok, the security keeps checking your room number coupon every time you are going to the lift which is irritating. There is no coffee tea in the room which is pretty standard in any hotel nowadays. Beds are ok, the ... Read more

First of all, hotel Cosmos in Moscow is really very large hotel! Absolutely the best is that Cosmos is very close to the metro station, assuring fast connections to the other parts of the city. Also, view from the rooms is good, especially if your room is located n the western side! Cleanliness of the rooms and f the hotel in general was good! The room was large, clean, luminous and airy, although the room equipment was a bit outdated. The breakfast was average, and absolutely not better than ... Read more

From the outside the hotel looks great. Lobby and reception are also OK. Rooms don't meet today's standards. There is a small refrigerator in the room, but no kettle. We had old (not LCD) TV set in our rooms (in total we have been in 4 different rooms in this hotel during our trip). I believe mattresses are also very old. I didn't feel "fully recharged" after sleeping whole night on these mattresses. You should ask for room with a view to VDNH, IMHO, it has a better view. It took years to get an... Read more

Friday night in Moscow directly after a revolution puts a whole new level of adrenaline into the weekly episode of SpyGame. Two beautiful young models, a blonde and a brunette had already offered us a game of tennis in a car park and street gamblers near the park for scientific achievements had quietly warned us the KGB were following us as they quickly packed away their tables and vanished into the park. Bloody hell, I thought, it's like a night out after an afternoon at the Daily Express in Lo... Read more

The prices are affordable, interior and furniture are a bit old school, but clear with a nice view over VDNKH, especially from higher floors room. Not smoking area, so if you go out for a smoke, you will be a person of interest from beautiful Russian ladies ;) Don't forget your room key/pass, they ask for it all the time.

i stayed at this hotel on June (18-23 ) . The check in procedure was quite complicated and the staff was not helpful at all . if you book from booking.com is far cheaper than onsite , but the reception staff make you feel that you are not welcome . the hotel has many restaurants that serve different kind of food , don't try Subway because the food is not fresh at all and the service i met there is the most bad i ever seen . The location of the hotel is very good , access to metro and the park .... Read more
