I faced a few unresolved problems. I had just come off of an 8 hour car ride and was looking forward to watching some TV and taking a shower. After arriving to the hotel, it took 20 minutes to check in. Finally making it to my room, I attempted to turn on the TV, it did not work. I thought 'oh well,' I will just take my shower and go to bed. I turned on the shower and it flooded the bathroom. The shower would not drain. I cleaned the floor the best I could, then went to the lobby to ask fo... Read more

If the people say to you welcome with smiling face and fresh&hot cookie; how do you feel? It was really nice:) Room, bathroom, breakfast and park place... Everything is clean and comfortable. I liked too much breakfast in there. Also parkplace is very important in this big city. Thanks for everything :)) Hakan

The breakfast was good. The service was good. It is 20 min walking to the old part of Bucharest and the mall. You really have to take a taxi but it does not cost much. Usually the minimum price for Taxi is 10 LEi or 2,5 Euro

We are Hilton Diamond members and use the chain regularly for business and pleasure. This hotel is clearly competing in the budget sector and as such is ok. Rooms are adequate if a little gloomy, air con non existent which is an issue in temperatures of 28C. No water in the room after day 1, quite poor! Breakfast is usual Hilton variety but cooked items are warm at best unless you order cooked eggs. Croissants, danish, breads, fruit all very good, coffee excellent. Bar prices are unreasonable f... The hotel has free parking and is situated close to the tram-station. For a little bit more than one lei, you reach the historical center in perhaps ten minutes with line no 27. The hotel itself has small rooms (if not upgraded to bigger rooms), are a little bit dark and perhaps need a fresh-up but are comfortable and with comfortable beds. The breakfast was great and really nice and was served in the upper part of the building with a great view over Bucharest. We had also a dinner in the rest... Read more

In its location, it was a Golden Tulip Hotel. With some renovations, it is now double tree by Hilton. Location: -Central but not walking distance to main attractions, however very close and accesible by cab. -Parking lot is quite small, not sure if reservation is required, better contract them. Reception: -Friendly, well trained personnel. -Satisfactory reception hall Elevators: -Two elevators with satisfactory speed and waiting time, never waited more than a minute. Operates with room card. ... Read more

Stayed here 1 night close to where I needed to work; without having the chance to explore outside, location is a little off the beaten track (insofar as getting to the touristy downtown bars and restaurants area) but provides clean and modern rooms as should be expected from the Doubletree chain. Staff are friendly and helpful. Little various distractions in the hotel. Probably opt for a hotel closer to the touristy centre if I can next time (not due to hotel, simply for getting out a bit).

Spent a long weekend in Bucharest and was very happy with my stay at the Doubletree. It's very affordable and extremely clean and comfortable. I liked it so much that I'm going back later this month. Hotel is within walking distance to the main shopping districts and metro lines. The hotel bar is small but very nice.

stayed here for a long weekend and absolutely loved it. it was a typical Hilton with impeccable room cleanliness and what you expect. the fresh cookie on arrival was very very nice. the only downside was that some staff were moody or seemed to have a bad day in general therefore it came across to us negative when we asked them general questions. other than that the rooms were nice, good tv with many channels and a good room size for city travellers. location is bit far from old town and cabs... visited in June with friends. Good service from everyone I met and all spoke really good English. Rooms were tidy and clean and have air con, tv, radio etc. There is a small bar downstairs which again is friendly, showing sports etc. There is also a small cafe adjoining. The hotel is 10-20 Lev taxi from the old town or a 20 minute walk. There is also a 24 hour store and cash machine just outside and a tram stop outside as well. Would recommend.

We stayed for 2 days. The service the staff provided was first rate. The room was clean, breakfast delicious and we got help with each and everything problem we had. Also the airport shuffle service was very professional and we would like to recommend it as well. All in all, we had a very good time.

Full disclosure: I am HHonors Gold, so the upgrade I received was most likely influenced by that fact. Second full disclosure: I am a smoker and this hotel has 11 smoking rooms (all on the 7th floor). I don't stay at any hotel which does not have smoking rooms. Third full disclosure: Don't expect to pay what I did. Hilton is currently running a very big sale for HHonors members willing to pay in advance (non-refundable) and I wound paying only 52 Euros per night. I tried to think of a co... Read more

The doubletree by Hilton fully lived up to expectations, well furnished, spacious room and free parking for guests in front of the hotel. Smart and attentive staff, one part of great service that stood out was when I was in the restaurant and was a bit rushed for a meeting, I didn't pay a card deposit on the room but even still instead of paying the waiter just asked for my room number and that was it... He said "I don't want to hold you up, it's all sorted" so I could pay on check out. Staff we... Read more

Reserved a room and apparently non-/smoking rooms are only available on availability. Upgrade was possible later the night of arrival but upon original inquiry to resolve the issue we were out of with the words "the hotel is sadly fully booked". As an upgrade was possible later that night, the original answer was a lie. Weekend night service great (and very helpful), weekend day service incapable of resolving service issues.

Next I was expressed checked in and went to my room. The room had a great view of the city a huge king size bed and a living room with a sofa and chair for guest. There was also free water and snacks in the room. The hotel had a gym and it had a restaurant that offered great breakfast in the mornings. The hotel was also near a sal... Read more

My brief visit at his hotel left me wanting much more, as I some of the aspects of this hotel do not live up to the experience I have got used to at Hilton/DoubleTree hotels. Overall experience is plain average, with nothing really deserving a "special mention" in the positive category. The sleeping conditions are good (comfy mattress, pleasant bedsheets, etc) and that's the important bit. The rest is not so good. My room - being advertised as "non-smoking" - was full of the distant, heavily b... Read more

Strongly recommended. Even quite far from city center ( if Bucharest has one with a broaden extend of the meaning ) is one of the best hotel stayed in Bucharest. Reasonable prices, clean and quite comfortable rooms, lavish breakfast with exquisite city view on top floor, very very very friendly staff and exceptional masseuse ( after 19:00 ). Running under Hilton supervision you may be sure that standards do not have ups and downs.

This was the first non-English speaking country where I saw a Doubletree and was actually somewhat shocked to find one in Bucharest; I wasn't even aware that they were outside of the US until I went to one in London. The front desk clerk was extremely friendly and gave good tips; he gave me probably the most important advice I received in Bucharest: Watch out for dishonest taxi drivers. It saved me quite a bit of money and hopefully on one of my reviews in Bucharest you come across this advic... Read more

My experience was awesome. I felt most welcome and at home. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone interested in that home like feel. If on business and wishing to use Wi-Fi, ensure you remain aware the wifi needs re log on every 24hrs, usually at midnight. I am most likely staying here from now on.

Great experience! The only reason why I'd rate it 9 and not 10 is the distance from city center, yet taxis are extremely cheap and thus proximity is not an issue. Most of the staff was very nice & helpful, knowledgeable & provided fast service. Breakfast was very expensive in comparison to what you can get in one of the cafes in proximity to the hotel, so we didn't take it.

This hotel is nice and clean but really it's pretty basic for a 4 star. We was recommended to stay here but actually I would say it's more suited for a business trip not a holiday. Location was ok about 20 minute walk from the old town. There was free parking on the plus side. The breakfast was average. If you want a nice hotel go to the Marriott our friends were staying there and it was fabulous

This Doubletree Hotel has a nice complement of services and resources to travelers for business or a short trip. The location is within a 15 minute walk of the Old City and a few other sites, but is not right on some of the busier main roads which border the old city. Too far to walk to Herastrau Park and some other sites in that general area Located on a busy intersection the noise was not excessive in the room, unlike many hotels I've visited across Europe. The room is cozy, the bathroom sparkly clean, bed sheets and towels BRIGHT WHITE. if you have the TV on you have sound in the bathroom too. you can program the phone to wake you up. They take pride in their work. Tip - I left $3 each day. There is a fridge with candy and drinks - not recommended - too expensive. Better go out in town and have them ALL for fraction of price.
