First time staying at the W Retreat, simply amazing from start to finish. Every single corner of the property will take your breath away, beautiful property with stunning views to the Atlantic Ocean. The friendly staff all over the property made my stay memorable. The service, the food, the boutique style rooms, the relaxing pool, everything is perfect. Special thanks to Max, the guy from the front desk, he just went beyond making sure my stay was simply perfect. He gave me great recommenda... Read more

Our five day getaway could not have been any better. The decor of the lobby and rooms were amazing. We ate several meals at the hotel and we were never disappointed. David the food and beverage manager was there to make sure everything was perfect. We are not sure he ever slept. The rooms were kept spotless and our every need accommodated. The pool staff/wet bar were attentive and gracious. The concierge, David, was very helpful as was the tour desk employee. We hope to get back here soon. ... Read more

We were at the W Retreat & Spa on Vieques for my niece's wedding. All around, a wonderful experience in paradise. The wedding planner who worked with my nieces was phenomenal. The hair stylist in the spa did a great job on our hair - each of us had a unique updo. The set ups for the ceremony (on the beach) and the reception (on a grassy area outside) were beautiful. Our attendant/server/bartender for the reception was terrific - as were most employees we encountered. The front desk employee... Read more

The staff was 5-stars from Francisco escorting us from the W lounge at the airport, to Rafael showing us the property and room, Bobo the bartender, and David the concierge and David the F&B manager who was always making sure everyone was accomodated. It was my first trip to Vieques & my first stay at a W. Without exception, loved both. From the initial Front Desk experience (Ruben who worked magic helping us find an exceptional room) to the Food & Beverage staff (Supervisor Ricardo & Manager Angel who made casual rounds to assure guests' happiness and Server Sari who could even remember our orders from prior nights!), it was truly 4 nights in paradise. This is literally paradise. It reaches the standards of W hotels very well. The rooms are splendid and their beaches are amazing. The staff are alright. To be honest, they can be a little bit arrogant, especially the concierge. Also the location isn't so great. There aren't many choices for food here but the price range is acceptable. There is literally nothing around the hotel. Renting a car is pretty important.

If you pay for the exorbitantly-priced, but thrilling, 20 minute Cape Air flight from SJU, you'll get to stay in the W's very comfortable lounge while awaiting ground transfer to the resort. The room was exactly what I was expecting from this brand in a tropical resort-type setting. Chic and colorful. Although the rooms are starting to show their age a bit - a few gouges in drywall, chips in laminate coverings of privacy "fences" between bed and bath, etc. But overall very nice. There are s... My wife and I had our honeymoon at the W Retreat in Vieques Island the week of May 23rd. It is an easy 15 minute flight out of San Juan, Puerto Rico Airport to Vieques where the W has it's own airport lounge while you wait for a Jeep Wrangler to pick you up to take you to the hotel. The W retreat is AMAZING and breathtaking. We were greeted by Nathalie Urban the General Manager there. Realistically this is the best hotel on the island. The grounds are beautiful and tropical. You'll enjoy relaxing on the private beaches or at one of the pools. Do yourself a favor and visit the plunge pool at night. You won't regret it! The floor of the pool lights up at night. It is very dark so take your cell phone as a lighting source to navigate around the pool area. The staff was helpful and friendly. Cons: prepare yourself for overpriced everything - food and drinks are overpriced. I ... Read more

My not husband and I came here for our honeymoon and could not have been happier with our stay. The hotel is modern and sexy, the property itself is on a gorgeous piece of land, the spa was phenomenal and the service was great. What a gorgeous hotel! Absolutely the best on the island of Vieques if you want a very grand compound with plenty to enjoy. We were a bit worried upon arrival that no one knew about the package we purchased, no welcome to Vieques or congratulation on our honeymoon so it felt like we might not have been getting the luxury treatment we signed up for. From the moment you arrive on the (almost) private plane, be it a tad scary if you're not used to small planes, settle in to the W airport arrival lounge before you are driven by the hotel Jeep to the hotel, you feel relaxed and remote. The W hotel is not to be missed. Right on the beach you can do a handful of FREE activities from SUP, Kayak, snorkeling and tours. The rooms are HUGE and eclectic! The sounds from the frogs and animals and night are like you are staying in a jungle. The pools are open 24 hours, the food and drinks are great. Try the mofongo at the restaurant (best on the island). Free transportation to and from the airport, close to the next town Isabelle.

Things you must do: get an ocean front suite, lounge by the amazing pool, sunbathe on the private beach, cocktails by the firepit, dinner on the beach, champagne brunch on the patio. Need I say more? TIP: If you don't bring a vehicle over on the ferry, take a cab to the resort (10 minutes ish) and rent a jeep from the W resort. Very easy. I can't wait to go back. Enjoy!

We loved our stay at the W. Our room was large and we had an unobstructed ocean view (room 433). Several staff members commented we had a "really good room" when we would sign checks and we looked around the property and it was one of only a few that had a completely unblocked view of the water. My family of four just returned from a 5 night stay at the W. (Two adults, an 8 year old girl and 16 year old girl). Vieques is such a charming island and we were so pleased with the W hotel. It was a harrowing day to get out to Vieques (ferrys were full so we had to get a last minutes flight). When we arrived, we sat in the W lounge and waited for a hotel jeep to pick us up. When we arrived, we loved the decor and the service was fantastic. Romantic with a boho-chic vibe. Definitely stay here vs. a similarly-price high-end resort in Puerto Rico if you want to explore an island, enjoy nature and beaches, and just chill with a bit more of an authentic and less canned experience. Feels unique and off the grid, but still high-end. Very cool - normally I don't care that much about décor, but it really compliments the setting. Whole lobby has an open air feel, and it's set up on a cliff side with great sunset views of the water a... Read more

First, a HUGE thank you to David at the W, who saw my crying 7 year old with some simple scraps from a fall and took such good care of him over by the pool bar. This is a wonderful retreat for couples, groups or families to relax in a beautiful environment and be served like kings by the wonderful service the resort offers.
