"I have to I used for the first time and new about the Verdanza hotel . I just love this place I had a group of 9 ladies there for the weekend. We had the best time the rooms were perfect we were able to stay by the pool area. This hotel is very easy to get around from. The beach is 1 block away. The resturant at the hotel are also great. I just love this place I've been here twice this year and will be back by the end of July 2013 for sure. The only thing that I did not appreciate was that they never told me that I would be picked up from airport and we did take 2 diffrent cabs 40.00 later while the other party of 2 got free transportation to and from the airport."

"I stayed at this hotel for Four days in May for my birthday. This was a great hotel. Only about 5 minutes from the airport, and about 15 mins from Old San Juan for the great shopping and bars. The beach was only like a 5 to 8 min walk from the hotel and their where two casinos that was in the same area that was walking distance. The staff were great they always greeted us with a smile and was able to make everything possible that we asked for. Even when most hotels have their cut off for pool time this hotel let the guest use the jacuzzi and pool all night. I only give this a four on quality cause there were a few things like the tile on the ceiling that could of been updated or the cracks in the bathroom around the outside of the tub or something, but other than that this hotel is very nice. The room was spacious and the balcony was great to just sit outside in between time and just relax. I would definitely go here again or recommend others to go."

"Spent 5 days and 4 nights, the hotel is a good value for a quick get away. The quest room bathrooms is some what small, and the hot water for the shower was differcult to control the water temp. (sometime cold and then very hot). Overall the location was great walking distant to beach, etc."

"I just got back from Puerto Rico and stayed at the Verdanza Hotel. Overall the experience was very nice and the hotel is acceptable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and confortable. The bathroom a bit small but survivable. They do the cleaning in the afternoon and only once I had to call about getting my room cleaned. The hotel could play a bit more salsa music since this is one of the good things Puerto Rico is known for. This seems to be a problem all over the island, the lack of Salsa rythms playing in the background. I liked San Juan, the forts, the rain forest but I think they lack in night life (or at least tourists are not well informed about the available night life!). I also found food and taxi transportation a bit overprized. I give Puerto Rice 8 out of 10."

"The Verdanza was an excellent value, great location and exceeded our expectations! We are a family of 4 and the 2 double bed room was just big enough to keep us happy for 9 nights. The staff were great and we loved the Chinese restaurant and sitting outside watching March Madness at the sports bar. The pool was clean and had great bar service. For those that are looking the see the whole Island do all the activities...old San Juan, Culebra, Torro Verde zip lining,Bio Bay and hitting all the cool beaches... this hotel saves you a lot of money over the high end and more remote beach resorts so you can actually afford a weekly minivan rental and pay for all these activities! Isle Verde's beach is right across the street which is very clean and has plenty of great restaurants to enjoy. We loved the italian restaurant in the Intercontinental and the old San Juan hotel is a must see."

"We spent 7 days and 7 nights at the Verdanza Hotel. Prior to going we read all the reviews. I have to say that we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all extremely friendlyand very professional. The hotel is only about 2 blocks from the beach and if you don't like sand, the hotel pool was great. Would definitely recommend a stay here. There are some suggestions I would make:
More umbrellas/coverings are needed by the pool area. Leave an extra roll of toilet paper in the bathrooms as you never know when people will run out. During our stay we never saw the pedi ride that was supposedly used to take guests to the beach and the bathrooms are definitely small. In fact the toilet is slanted so that door could close. Lastly and this is not a suggestion but because we saw it on so many reviews we did have plenty of pool towels and we sometimes changed ours three times a day."

"I arrived in the morning (although check in time isn't until 3pm) because I just came off a cruise. the staff was very pleasant and fortunately I was allowed to checkin at 12:30. i was VERY pleased with the early check in. I stayed in the club room on the 8th floor and enjoyed EVERYTHING about my room. The view, the comfortable and plush king size bed, the size of the flat screen tv was great for me since I relaxed a lot and spent a great deal of time in my room. Many restaurants & stores were just a few steps from the hotel. The bathroom is a little small but it's not a big deal unless you plan to spend a lot of time in there. When I read the many reviews, I was a little nervous about the claims of 'smelling mold' but I did not see or smell any. I would definitely stay at the Verdanza again."

"The Verdanza Hotel was a nice hotel for the price. The restaurants were all very good and it's an easy walk to the beach although the pool at the hotel was a great place to hang out. The place could get a little noisy at night with guest coming home for the clubs at all hours but overall not bad.
The only complaint would be with the housekeeping service. They sometimes would only clean part of our room (ie: only make the beds & not clean the bathroom) and half the time didn't replace the coffee. When we did let the front desk know they had someone come up right away to clean but then left the door open & unlocked (which required another trip to the front desk to complain).
In spite of this we would definitely stay there again. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly as was the restaurant/bar staff."

"Great value! Other hotels are on the beach, but this is just a short walk. The lobby and pool areas are very nice. Rooms are average, but ours had a balcony, which made it very appealing. Our view of the pool was partially obstructed by palm trees, which I have seen another reviewer complain about, but sheesh, I'll take that. I'd rather see palm trees and a little pool anyway. The breakfast buffet was average at best. We also ate at Home, another hotel restaurant because we were exhausted after the flight, but I'd recommend eating at some of the other nearby places to try some awesome, authentic food! Cab rides were cheap. We visited Old San Juan and Pinones, both of which I highly recommend. Unless you want to spend significantly more for on the beach, I'd stay here every time."

"I was not happy with this hotel. It is very tight. We asked to be moved to another room because the first room smelled, the halls smelled like if they had dogs, once we asked they were very hesitant to change us giving us excuses. The guy told us that it was a family hotel..if it was so then rooms should be bigger and more comfortable. We we got changed to another room the wall had a hole into , I had to aske them to cover it. The light fixture in the bathroom was moldy and rusted. The rugs were stained and the sheets. And to top it off we were bitten by BEDBUGS."

"The Verdanza Hotel was great. It is conveniently located to everything we wanted to do. The hotel grounds are well maintained and with a deck overlooking the pool, we enjoyed having coffee in the morning and wine in the evening on the deck. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the chairs. The seats could use some padding. The bus runs along Isla Verde Blvd and you can bus to Old San Juan for 75 cents. The other direction will take you to the Pinones, where there is a beautiful bike trail along the ocean and through the mangroves. Restaurants in the hotel and nearby are excellent. This hotel is an excellent value for the location and quality. I would definitely return."

"Great location. 5 min walk to the beach and restaurants. Mi Casita is GREAT for breakfast, located in the mall across the street. Staff was very helpful. GThe lady at the tour desk is a very kind elderly lady with much insight on sightseeing activities. Amazing view from the rooftop lounge area. Pool side room has a nice view from the balcony. WARNING: The pool area has a very harsh smell, rough on the nostrils. So if you can, bring nose plugs. The pool was ice cold, jacuzzi is scorching hot. Overall, pleasent stay"

"This hotel is nothing what i expected. Rooms were very small. I asked to be transfered and they were very hesitant to change us giving me all sorts of excuses. To top it off it has bedbugs. The room we were changed to had a whole in the wall that i had to ask to be covered, light fixture in bathroom had mold bed sheets were stained, rugs were stained. I would notg recomend this hotel and i will never stay in this hotel again. Not a great experience at all."

"I could not have asked more from this hotel. Each and every staff member were so caring and sweet, Luis Rodriguez was extremely helpful to all of our needs. We arrived to 2 double beds, when we initally wanted a king size, so we called and they apologized right away and even upgraded our room to an ocean view! My husband and myself can not wait to return to Puerto Rico and stay at this hotel over and over again!"

"I was actually surprised that the photos of this hotel are 'true.' My only complaint is the cleaning staff- vacuuming in the hallway at 8am and allowing the doors to slam and bounce off the door lock were not at all a part of the vacation I had planned- I was planning on sleeping in that day. I would most definitely recommend this hotel and am planning on staying there again. The close proximity and access to the beach can't be beat for the cost. I also was happy with the Tour Desk in the lobby where I could book excursions."

"Overall I had a very nice visit to Puerto Rico, however I was disappointed with the condition of our room. When we initially arrived, I was very impressed with the staff courtesy and the mix of restaurants available. Our room was another story. It was in serious need of rennovations. The lamp shades were rusty. The bathroom was very small, outdated and the tub and towel rack were rusted. We were only given towels during our stay and had to call housekeeping each day to get washcloths. The hotel had it's pros - great location, nice pool, a short walk from the beach and right next to the Embassy Suites Casino. I think this hotel is perfect for young travelers that don't care too much about cleanliness, but if that matters to you, you might want to make other hotel choice."

"I took my 2 teenage children to Puerto Rico and could not have asked for a better place to to stay! The hotel is conveniently located in an area with both ethnic and fast food dining options, as well as easy access to the beach (literally 1 block away). We went shopping at Plaza Las Americas which was only about 15 minutes from the hotel and could easily pick up snacks and groceries around the corner at Walgreens or the local supermarket. The staff at the hotel were very accomodating and gave lots of tips to make our trip easier and more enjoyable. The only difficulty we had was contacting room service. We tried for a couple days and finally ended up asking the front desk concierge to have them call us back to take our breakfast order. Otherwise, a wonderful trip made even better by lovely accommodations, people, and food!!"

"My flight was delayed, so I called ahead to remind the front desk that I was on my way. When we got to the hotel, we learned that we they did not have accommodations for me , my wife and two grown children. The clerk tried to put us in a room with a king size bed and a small cot, but we could not accept the room. Next the manager tried to give us a room that was out of service. I went up to see the room, and it was a mess. I refused that room also. At about 1:30, we decided to sleep in the original room for the night and deal with the situation in the morning. The next morning they sent us to a room that had not been cleaned. Finally, they gave us the room that we were promised when we made the reservation. Needless to say it was a very frustrating experience. There were some good things about our stay but unfortunately the difficult time at the beginning is what stayed with us. For the price, I should have gotten two separate rooms."

The beach was about 2 blocks away, and the hotel's pool had something for everyone, from children to adults. The hotel has 4 restaurants from casual to more formal, and other restaurants, hotels and nightlife are close by (short walk).
We have been to Puerto Rico a few times, and would definitely stay here again."

"Before I stay at any hotel the first thing I do is read the reviews and for the most part the reviews are at point. The Verdanza hotel was a great stay, the staff is SUPER and the hotel looks good along with the great pool.. I would just suggest a
small bar near pool to get drinks rather than going to restaurant steps away. The rooms were comfortable except the tiny bathroom with no pressure in running water but I would still return due to the comfy beds! The location of the hotel was not as lively too many fast food restaurants which I'm not a fan of but the hotel has about 3 decent restaurants and we took the bus to Old San Juan a couple times to enjoy good food there. The beach is only 2 blocks away safe and beautiful. I would deffinetly recommend The Verdanza, for the price it's so worth it, I give it a 4 star only because my daughter the 21 yr old birthday girl said a pool bar & pool staff wouldv given it a 5"

"They cancelled my reservation because of an error that they made. Then, they although they sid they would not charge me anything, they proceeded to charge me $255 in penalties for 'missing' my reservation. Very disorganized and very clumsy customer service if anything goes wrong. I was not the only person in my line for which the reservation was messed up either. At least two other people ahead of me in line had issues with their reservations.

"We stayed at the Verdanza from 12/13-12/18/2012. The hotel is in a good location and as a whole it is a nice hotel. However, there are concerns. We had no hot (not even luke warm) water for the first two days. After I contacted the front desk, we finally got very luke water the last three days. The maid was super slow. We were out of our room most of the day eveyday. However, on Saturday we returned at 4:30 and our room was not cleaned and on Sunday it was worst. The room was not cleaned until 6:30. The maid failed to stock the bathroom towels. We had to call to get washclothes sometimes. The maid also threw out personal items (snacks) without asking us. I am a diabetic and I had sugarfree snacks which are not easy to find in San Juan. The girls who worked the front door were very rude. One actually rolled her eyes at us when we asked for a token for the parking lot. The male emplyees were very nice and seemed to enjoy their jobs. The girls made us feel that they were not happy with their jobs. We paid for five nights parking in advnace, when were checked in. However, the hotel allows too many cars to park and finding a parking space was a problem. We stayed at this hotel when it was a Holiday Inn. That stay was much better. But hontestly, the Verdanza is nice with the above mentioned problems. I do not bellieve that we will stay there again."

"I loved the staff and had a very nice stay at the Verdanza. Everyone was very helpful and considerate. They helped us find transportation and gave advice as to what to see and how to get to different locations with maps. The Starbucks in the Lobby became one of my favorite morning stops -- they not only had great treats and coffee but the friendly greating that we received was something that helped me start each day with a smile.
Want to say thank you to the whole staff for making us feel very welcome and say that I would love to come and see all of you again."
