I've seen a lot of bad reviews on this place, but that was truly not our experience. We were in town for a cruise and wanted to be close to the cruise port. First off, the Royal Caribbean terminal that we left from was on the other side of the bay, so be sure that if you are in town for a cruise that you confirm your port. Otherwise, this hotel was in a perfect location. It was in the heart of Old San Juan and walking distance to pretty much everything that you need. The price was super re... Read more

I love the location because it's close to the docks. It's nice to see all the tourists coming and going. There is nothing like seeing a cruise ship parked right in front of your hotel. Pretty cool. My room was clean and spacious and the bed was very comfy; felt nice at the end of a busy day. It was a very pleasant stay, thanks to all the staff. They really are genuinely nice. Puertoricans and Dominicans are known for their hospitality. Thank you, again. Rebecca

My wife and I and another couple spent the night before our cruise and two nights after it...I wish we booked a week. Old San Juan is beautiful and there is so much to see and do. This hotel the the perfect place to start from. It's central location makes it walking distance from all the amazing sites and things to do. The roof top pool is an excellent place to just relax, day or night. The view of the bay from the roof is spectacular. There are so many great shops and restaurants all so clo... Read more

We flew into the San Juan airport one day ahead of our cruise departure and stayed at the Sheraton Old town. Check in went smoothly and our room was spacious and clean. We took the free trolley within walking distance of the hotel for a tour of Old San Juan. You can get on and off the trolley which takes you thru the town. Visited several shops, a historical fort, an old above ground cemetery which sits very close to the ocean and then went back to the hotel for drinks at the upstairs balcony b... Read more

We stayed one night in this hotel in 2014 because we were leaving on a cruise. The staff was extremely accommodating when we arrived and put us in a front, corner room overlooking the harbor. The shuttered windows add a really nice touch. We have already made a reservation to stay in October this year and are looking forward to our visit.

We stayed here 2 nights before our cruise. the location was fine the room itself was satisfactory however the staff didn't seem to know anything, we wanted to take the hop on hop off bus and the website said it picked up outside this hotel however the front desk staff didn't seem to know about it. Anything we asked them they didn't know. We actually got better information from the employees at CVS down the street. I see the name has now changed and they dropped the "casino" off of it when w... Yes, expect average for a Latin country and you will not be angry at the lack of many things that are not at even a Sheraton level. I am SPG Platinum and the only thing this property has going for it is its location at the end of old town. Otherwise, from our check in, through our breakfasts the level of service at this hotel is almost non-existent. Unfriendly and unresponsive, especially to SPG members, would sum up our experience, with one notable exception: A taxi strike was called the da... Read more

I decided to stay here for one night prior to departing for another island. Sheratons are usually solid, basic hotels (to me). This was the case with this one. I was given a large corner room that had 3 Juliette balconies, with one that faced the pier where Carnival Cruise lines ports. It was fun to be able to see the ship up close when I woke up in the morning. The location is perfect for anyone starting a cruise from the Old San Juan port. The room had the standard Sheraton furnishings... Read more

Arrived 4 days prior to a cruise and this location was absolutely fabulous to tour Old San Juan. The front desk person: Alberto was fabulous: upgraded us to a king size room with views of the water. Angel Rodriquez was very pleasant and always said hello with a smile. The room was very nice: clean and comfortable king size bed. Our housekeeper Viany Mota left us a nice note with a beautiful drawing of a flower (still have it). Nice view of the water/cruise ships. Complimentary bottle water that ... Read more

After reading so many consecutive negative reviews I was a little reluctant to staying at this hotel, but decided to go ahead anyway. To my surprise, it was the opposite of those negative reviews. Therefore, I got to the conclusion that the experience depends on the perspective/expectations you have on the hotel. The check-in process was the easiest, smoothest and fastes I have done so far in my life; the front desk staff was very courteous and polite. The hotel areas are well kept and the gran... Read more

This hotel is great for its location especially if you are staying pre-cruise. Our room was adequate since we were only staying one night. My main complaint was the fact that our room was not ready when we arrived from the airport at 3:00; in fact, it wasn't ready until nearly 5:00! Not acceptable at all.

We've stayed here 2-3 times now, always our go to in San Juan when leaving for a cruise. We even had all our wedding guests stay here. Casino in the hotel, rooftop pool. Little drug store 1 minute away to purchase drinks to bring to pool. Walking distance to shops and restaurants in OSJ. Walking distance to ferry to rum tour. Quick taxi cab to cruise port.

Nice & clean hotel. Disappointed as our rooms were not ready by the time we arrived past the check-in time of 3:00 pm. However, our request of late check out of 1 pm was granted & that was convenient. Hotel was also close by restaurants & souvenir shops.
