"Over-priced drinks and food. They give you 25 dollars gift coupon for the casino but you have to pay 25 dollars out of pocket to use it. The room was old, with part of the cement from wall broken. Carpets were not clean. Bathroom was okay but not great. The resort as such was in a nice location, the beach was good. However, parking is too expensive. Even if you self-park, with taxes etc it comes to 18 dollars a day. I rented my car for 13 dollars a day !!! I would try a different resort next time in PR. There is nothing free - you will have to pay nickel and dime for all facilities."

"I must say this has to be one of the worst places I've ever stayed..The hotel needs to be renovated,the rooms are old and the carpets throughout the hotel are stained and gross.. There was no water pressure in our shower through out our stay and on two of the days we had no hot water..The place nickel and dimes you for everything,resturants and drinks are way overpriced for what you get,you MUST rent a car so you can get out of the resort,but our parking cost just as much as it did to rent the car another crazy thing...Also the service or shall I say lack of service is horrible, don't think I saw any wait staff around the pool had to get up and get our own overpriced drinks and food.. I've been to many different hotels in Puerto Rico but will never be back here again.Next time going somewhere else"

"Stayed at the Rio Mar Beach, Golf & Spa Resort for Labor Day weekend 2012. Enjoyed all the festivites during the weekend. Was dissapointed that most of all the fun was on the weekend! During the week, unless you want rest & relaxation there is not much else to do as far as entertainment. The beach is very good for those who enjoy being in a warm pleasant ocean. As far as a nightlife, you will need to rent a car or taxi to any of the surrounding attractions. Unless you want to pay for over priced meals after the Tiki Hut closes, then you don't have any options to eat. More or less, it was an enjoyable exsperience!"

"Very nice Resort, they need to be able to expedite check-in. The Resort was a little pricey on the food. I thought it was bad test to charge guest of the resort parking. If you park your rented vechicle on property, there is a fee of $15.00 a-day, we stayed for 7-days which adds up. We were not informed about the parking prior to making reservations. Golf course on the property advertises brand name clubs that are not available."

"I hadn't been to PR in 12 years and I was happy to have returned and had an awesome experience. The staff at the resort was friendly and helpful. I wasn't too impressed with the room, but I had an overall great experience. The food at the resort restaurants was very expensive. We were better off renting a car and leaving the resort to nearby restaurants. The room credit helped out a great deal. Overall Experience: Excellent"

"While the resort was ok, it was definately not as nice as I was expecting. All food and drinks were drastically overpriced, and the property was obviously in need to some repair and lacking proper upkeep. There is a lot to do on-site, but not exactly the 'luxury' vacation I was looking for. They even limit you on the number of towels you can have at the pool!"

"The hotel is very nice,the staff very helpful.Ithink a little bit more service on the beach would be very appreciated because we are on vacation and we all want to be pampered.this is our 4th time here,we spent our 25,27,29 and 31st anniversaries here.we dont have dinners at the resort but we have lunch at the tiki bar (the wings are great) .Overall i would tell every one to go there,it is pricey but the hotel /beach are worth it"

"We just got back from our vacation in Puerto Rico. We loved our stay there. The hotel was beautiful. The pool was close by and was clean and big. The beach was also close by and we appreciated the chairs and umbrellas for our use. The only thing that I would say as an area of improvement would be for them to incorporate some things in rather than charging for every little thing. Th grounds were well maintained and the rooms were clean and comfortable - including the beds. he location is good and there is lots to do nearby you can drive to all the great things like the rainforest, bio bay, and old San Juan. We did not rent a car but would if we travelled back to the area. We ate on the resort, but found the food to be good although somewhat expensive. We would defiantly stay here again. Additionally, my daughter had a fall while she was there and needed an xray. The gentleman from security that came to assist us was fantastic. He rode to the hospital with us, helped with the language barrier we met at the hospital, and got us safely back to the hotel. He checked in each day to see how my daughter was doing and to see if there was anything he could do for us to help make her comfortable and to ensure we enjoyed the stay. We were very thankful for his assistance and his wonderful personality."

"It is a gorgeous hotel. The view of the sea from the lobby is amazing and the courtyard is lovely. The Mirabella restaurant has a great buffet style breakfast and the staff is pleasant. My children and I did the eco tour to El Junque, Bio Bay Tour, and Horseback riding at La Hacienda de Carabali all of this is between 5 to 10 minutes away from Resort except Bio Bay in Fajardo. Luquillo Kioskos (huts to purchase different Puerto Rican foods) is less than 10 minutes away. We had a wonderful time. I fully recommend this resort as its landscape and location is perfect to enjoy nature."

"The hotel was great but all axtras....food, outside excursions, etc. were way too expensive. I expect to pay a little extra for those things, but their prices forced me to go to a grocery store, by cab, and buy groceries to eat in my room for breakfast and some lunches. I left the resort every night after my first dinner at the hotel.... Don't mind spending a little extra but refuse to get ripped off and that's how I felt."

"Had a great time and a great conference (UNOS Transplant Management Forum). Beautiful resort with great staff that were very helpful and accommodating. Food and entertainment talent was EXCELLENT but pretty expensive. Has a pretty nice workout facility. For the negatives, this is a resort that charges for everything for the most part including internet usage in your room. That always bugs me when that kind of service is free at cheap hotels."

"Just got back from our vacation in Puerto Rico. We loved everything about our stay there. My only complaint would be that they nickle and dime you for everything. But that is to be expected at a resort. The staff was great, grounds were well maintained. Room was clean and beds were very comfortable. The location is good, especially if you are doing other things on the island. You can drive to all the great things like the rainforest, bio bay, and old San Juan. We rented a car and ate mostly off the resort, but did have a few meals at the resort. The food was great, but pricey. We would defiantly stay here again."

"The hotel was fantastic for our family (two adults and four teenagers). We appreciated having chairs on the beach everday. Areas of improvement: it would have been nice to have bar/food earlier and later closer to the beach for those of us beach lovers. Restaurants near the beach opened late and closed early, leaving nothing for those of us early sunbathers or late night wanderers. The hotel is beautiful, well staffed, and has plenty of activities. Thanks for a great vacation!"

"After reading some of the tennis online about this place I was a little skeptical but after visiting this place last week for over 5 days my opinion has completely transformed.
This is a great place to spend your vacation.the rooms are good, service is great and the pool and beach is clean and service is great.
Food is expensive at the resort so g you might need to explore some options around the resort.
We had a great experience and I would highly recommend this place."

"I book my travel to San Juan Puerto Rico; We stayed at the Wyndham Rio mar. The hotel was located in a nice remote area, beautiful accommodations, clean and lovely views, but unfortunately that is where it ends, the sercive was terrible, staff was unbelievable rude and unfriendly. Everything was extremely over price, and the quality of the food was not that grat. This is not a budget friendly place to visit. I will never go there again and will make sure I share my eperience with all my friends and family. You can thank them for ruining my husband's 30th Birthday."

"Our little get away to Puerto Rico was nice but the Resort could be improved it was all about the dollar they want to charge for everything almost from parking to a refrigerator for the amount that they charge for the room you would expect to receive more than one wash cloth for two people. my next visit will be somewhere else that will provide the small things."
