I stayed here for nearly a week while working in Puerto Rico. The location is pretty good, across the street from the beach in a quiet part of the waterfront. Its a taxi ride away from the fun part of San Juan. I had two rooms, both overlooking the parking lot. They did provide a refrigerator and a microwave. There is a good, but expensive bar in the lobby. Go during Happy Hour and its not so bad.

Great hotel directly across the street from the beach. Super friendly staff. The rooms are small but very well kept and clean. The contential breakfast was well prepared with fresh fruit. The bartenders where amazing. I asked the bartender for his speciality drink. It was a mixture of spicy rum (of course), the burning of a leaf...I can't remember the name but it was amazing. The area is full of food options, with a short taxi ride to Old San Juan.

Shared our stay in San Juan in two hotels. First days in Caribe Hilton ( standard hotel chain with outstanding service) but,, what a discover! This hotel is modern, stylish with a good quality/price relation , urban pool and lot of services. Location was perfect to explore Isla Verde beach and it was perfect on our way to the airport. The seating areas are awesome and very comfortable. There is a pool area and fitness room. The only downside to staying at this hotel is the fact that there is no free continental breakfast offered.

Fantastic stay in isla verde. Very modern vive! Good restaurant and pizzeria. Self parking will cost $8 with in and out privileges. The pools is great. It will shelter you from the sun after 3 pm. I stayed in a king size bed unit. Fantastic. No musty smell. I will stay here again. The hotel is towards the west side of the strip but close enough to the restaurants and bars. We felt safe.

We stayed at Tryp on 2 separate nights on either end of a trip and it was a nice, clean hotel. The location is great in terms of being near the airport and the beach at Isla Verde is beautiful and just across the road. Rate was very reasonable and he hotel was very clean. It's not really a family area though, it's more of a party area. Next to the hotel is a bar called "Hotties", a condom shop, and a "smoke shop" for buying bongs. We fly in and out of PR 6+ times a year. Our stay consists of just a day and a half on island, so our needs are different than most, but for our purposes; it's simple, comfortable and most importantly clean. Staff is friendly, pool is small with minimal chairs if that's your thing. There are enough restaurants nearby for assortment and its right by the beach.

We stayed at TRYP by Wyndham for five days and four nights. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location across the street from a nice beach and in walking distance from several restaurants, a casino, grocery store and even a Walgreen's. Hotel was very nice minus the price for which you pay for the "buffet" breakfast, which does not have a wide selection. Tryp has a lot of things going for it. Room apparently designed by a feng shui master. Good use of wood, sliding doors and closet door handles. Even the detail of the plant in the bathroom was well done. I would readily stay at this hotel again. Only reason not provided with excellent rating is that staff on check in were slightly lackadaisical. This sense of low staff energy didn't change much during my three day stay.

The hotel was very clean and modern looking and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was also very clean and comfortable. My one complaint would be the sliding bathroom door. It didn't close all the way and it faced the beds. The door was mostly glass which made the light from inside shine into the room. Very annoying when trying to sleep. Other that that I was very pleased.

Considering this used to be a Howard Johnson, the building has come a LONG way. Wyndham has really made the place POP with edgy decor and modern accents. The lobby had the feel of fancier hotels. You are greeted at the desk by very friendly and personable staff. The bellman was also friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was fairly priced for hotel breakfast.
