tl;dr: The manager, Jarek, is toxic to this otherwise beautiful establishment. When the shower in my room wouldn't drain or produce hot water, I was jerked around, lied to, and made to wait over an hour for him to finish his dinner in the hotel restaurant just to get my room changed. The building itself is in a great location, close to the beach but still in the city. Although our room smelled like mold when we first came in, the smell went away about 10 minutes after we turned on the Air Cond... Read more

A group of us stayed here for one night before our Caribbean cruise the next day. Staff were friendly and advised us on bars and restaurants. The room was spacious and although dated was clean and comfortable. Had breakfast in their restaurant and it was very good, coffee and service first class. They have a roof top area for relaxing/sunbathing. Good location for the port as only a short taxi ride away.

I can't explain the generosity and care of the staff. Magaly and Ishmael were so attentive, offering suggestions for local gems. We were fortunate enough to get to know Jarek, the manager, who took time and attention to make sure our stay was fantastic. Of course, we were surprised and impressed by the garden terrace on the seventh floor. I spent my mornings there reading, meditating, and taking in the great views. I also enjoyed Cafe Herencia, where Marielis was quick to offer food and com... Read more

The Hotel Miramar is a wonderful place to stay in San Juan. The location is terrific and the owner and staff are generous, helpful, and fun. My partner and I had a truly outstanding stay. The rooftop terrace was a particular highlight. I highly recommend!

I couldn't have asked for a better hotel for my recent stay in San Juan. Upon check-in I was greeted by Magaly who was quite friendly and welcoming. My room was clean, quiet and very spacious. It had a microwave and a fridge which came in handy. I stayed at the hotel for six nights so I got to know the other staff members who were all super friendly including Jarek, Ishmael and Yimal. The sweetest of all was Melania who maintained the second floor rooms. She went out of her way to make sure... Read more

My sister and I recently stayed at Hotel Miramar over an extended Memorial Day weekend. Although our stay was short, Jarek, Magaly, Yamil and Christian (separate review for Herencia) were extremely accommodating and expressed genuine concern for our well being. I called weeks in advance to request double beds as opposed to one king, realizing this option would only be available on a 1st come basis. To my surprise, Magaly recalled speaking to me weeks before and recounted "that I'd be ok sleepin... Read more

My family and I stayed at Hotel Miramar for a family wedding. Although I would not say this a 5 star hotel they sure make you feel like it. Our stay was very pleasant and enjoyable. Rooms were clean and everything we needed was provided. Love the location within walking distance of restaurants, grocery store etc. Front desk clerk was very nice and helpful with information. I would like to say his name was Ismael but I'm not sure. In any case thank you for all your help. We had a really nice time... Read more

My wife and I stayed at the Miramar for the first leg of our vacation to Puerto Rico. It was conveniently located next to the highways to get around for day trips, it had a couple restaurants nearby, and a very friendly day-staff. For the price we paid, somewhere around $90/night per, it was as expected. A clean and spacious room, with a fairly updated ensuite - it was a $90/night room. My only scoffs are that the bed was very uncomfortable - both of us woke up sore in the mornings.... Read more

We stayed here on our last night after we returned from our cruise. First, I would have to give high marks to the staff. They were helpful in providing areas to visit that were in walking distance or a short taxi ride. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived from our cruise but they stored our luggage with no issues so that was a plus. Magadly (hope spelling is correct) was kind enough to bring towels up to our room wishing 10 minutes of our request. We asked for a taxi early in the am the next d... Read more

My husband and I spent three days in San Juan at the Miramar Hotel before our cruise. After a long and frustrated lost trip from the airport we were met with friendly and smiling faces from the front desk staff. The hotel is quaint and and average for the price and convenient for our needs. The rooms were clean and comfortable and offer that getaway before our cruise. The restaurant was nice and the food and drinks were great but sometimes pricey for ordinary cuisine. The overall experience with... Read more

I stayed here for 3 nights with my kids. they let me check in early when we arrived, they staff was so nice to my kids, we got free breakfast at the restaurant, it was clean, and the rooftop lounge was amazing. my kids loved just hanging out on the couches up there and enjoying the view, especially at night. Plenty of restaurants on the same street, and condado beach is walking distance. I'd definitely stay again

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of days before our cruise. The room was spacious and clean. The view was impressive and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom and shower were in good condition. The employees went out of their way to be attentive. There are only four parking spaces, but the staff will park for you. We will use this hotel again,

We called to see if they had a room available before we got on our cruise ship. We ended up getting in earlier than expected and arrived in San Juan around 350 in the am . By the time we got there it was about 430 am.... We got there and on the front desk it advertised half day rated we only wanted the room till about 9/930 am that way we could get some rest and shower and be on our way. This hotel was nice and clean and the staff really friendly. They don't have a big parking lot but dont worry. They utilize the street parking all you have to do is leave your keys in the front desk and there will park your car for you. The rooftop had an amazing view we spend almost every night up there. The only thing that I could complain about it's the Checking hours 3 p.m. nothing earlier than that. So make sure that you book a late flight because if you book a morning flight you will not b... A city hotel, with a great location. Across the street from great restaurants, a fine art theater (which serves food and wine while you are watching a movie), and a bus stop that took us to old san juan. We stayed for only one night. The room was a king bed room on the third floor. The room was very clean and big, especially for a 3 star/city hotel. The decor is a little outdated, but hey for the price and location, I take it! This hotel is 15 - 20 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from shopping and restaurants in Condado. Old San Juan is also 15 minutes away. The staff at check in was extremely helpful and polite. Our room was modern and clean. They are finishing up renovations but it doesn't detract from the ambiance. The rooftop seating area is gorgeous and you should definitely spend at least one evening up there. The restaurant in the lobby is definitely the best local spot for a good breakfast with attenti... I booked my entire trip through Jet Blue. I chose this hotel because it stated it was pet friendly on the website. The purpose of my trip was emergency surgery for my Bichon's eye. I went directly to the vet from the airport, was there 6 hours, my 3 year old lost the sight in his eye. I arrived at the hotel with my pet, luggage, carrier, etc. They told me I owed more money, and that I could not use the elevator with my pet, my room was on the third floor and I had to take the stairs. We just returned from a week stay at the Miramar hotel. We picked this hotel because we traveled with a dog and this was one of the few hotels that accepted pets. The hotel is located 15-20 minutes away from the airport and is right off the highway exit. Parking is limited to (4) very tight spaces with barely enough room to maneuver your vehicle into the spaces. We were lucky to find parking at the hotel almost every night. The other times we parked on the street. The staff will park and move yo... Read more

First of all, want to thank Marco the Italian young men who works on the lobby, for his excellence in the way he treats customers. The hotel is not big, and the workers make you feel al home. They will park your car, bring it back to you with a smile (wether you tip them or not), rooms are comfy and with excellent bathroom space, service impeccable, the rooftop of the hotel is marvellous, you can see a big part of the area and get all the fresh air that the sea offers. We stayed at the Miramar before a cruise in July and were able to book an inexpensive rate for two nights. The rooms were clean but there was a faint smell of paint in the hallways and rooms. Breakfast was good, but the staff at the restaurant were exceedingly rude (the restaurant seems to be a separate business from the hotel). We had a minor problem: When we booked our room, we booked 4 people (2 adults, 2 children) and the reservation said we would all have breakfast. When we arrived at the ... Read more

Arriving Friday afternoon for a Sunday cruise we checked into Courtyard Marriott in Miramar for a two night stay.
