We had a fabulous 4 days at the Lake Spa Resort. Accommodation and food were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff! I was fortunate enough to celebrate my birthday there and they delivered a bottle of champagne and birthday cake to my room. At the pool bar they misplaced our order but made up for they're error by providing it free of charge. All staff were friendly and helpful, chambermaids, poolside attendants, waiting staff and everyone on reception. This was our second visit a... Read more

Lovely staff, fantastic location, okay breakfast. Not 5* when compared to the Conrad down the highway, best 3.5*. But beautiful gardens next to the beach. However the majority of the gardens are out out of bounds leaving you sunbathing in sardine cans, and very unconfortable ones! You will spot a resident because they're carrying a few blue towels under their arms, morning and night. Seriously, it's hard work to find a space to relax, dont stay if you're on holiday, Fine if you're on a tight bud... Read more

Second visit to this wonderful 5* hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were well equipt and provided free water , coffee and hot drinks which were replenished daily. 3 open air pools with plenty of sun beds and free towels. Breakfast was excellent with a superb choice of hot and cold food, many items cooked fresh to your requirements.

In all the years we've been coming to Vilamoura, we've never stayed here. We will be coming back though. What a fantastic five star hotel. The staff were so friendly, especially Ana, on reception and the guy in the bar (sorry I didn't get your name), who was so busy but always had time to talk and remembered what you liked to drink. He also made great Brand Alexander's! The bar area is nice and there is a library area there too. The rooms are spacious and clean. Walk in shower was amazing. You g... Read more

This is the place to stay. The staff are absolutely the best. It's not perfect but that keeps everyone on their toes. The beach bar is fab....even celebrities staying failed to unnerve us (and they they seemed so lovely). There is so much to do here. The gym is average, but frankly we are on holiday so the bar is more important. Stayed for 4 nights with my wife last week of May and despite it being 1/2 term break and quite populated by families there was still plenty of space to have a quite few days - excellent facilities and staff, walking distance to the Marina, but not really suitable for beach lovers as it is a good 10 minute walk, but other than that i can't think of anything negative to say.

Saw one sulky-faced waitress at the breakfast buffet, but otherwise every single member of staff at this hotel was friendly, efficient and courteous - and that makes a big difference to your overall holiday experience. The bed is big and comfy, the room is large and has a pleasant view (if not quite "panoramic", as advertised), and it's handily placed to walk to the nearby Marina, where you can find dozens of restaurants, and where the overall feel is refined and middle-class - no yobs, even th... This is my second time at the resort. As per my previous comments in September 2015, the WIFI connectivity remains an issue. There is virtually no connectivity pool side for my 5 days. During the stay, there were a group of lads (10-12) who consistently played loud music and wanted to provide us with full details on their previous evenings activities. A lovely hotel in a fabulous location. Loads of lovely restaurants and bars within 5 mins walk at the marina. Beautiful grounds. Staff need to stick to the sun bed policy and remove towels from hogged sunbeds. Around the pools Towels put down first thing and a lot still with no one there at 11.30. I stayed with my Wife at the hotel just over a week ago. Like many tourists we did our homework using trip advisor etc, the last 3 trips we have had have all been at 5* hotels in Rome, Manhattan and Amsterdam. We had a certain expectation in light of previous holidays and given how much we paid for 9 nights at the hotel, (worked out £240 per night, this includes breakfast) the room we had simply did not cut the mustard. Sadly this Hotel is not a 5 star hotel, more like a 4 star! We are extremely disappointed with the complex, we have stopped in many 5 star hotels across the world and this certainly should not be classified as one. The bathrooms, flooring, wardrobes, pool beds and sun umbrellas all require attention. We even had ants in our room, on the 3rd floor! We really enjoyed our stay that began with complimentary champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries that they gave us when finding out it was a special trip. Spent a week at the Lake Spa in June and were impressed with the room and facilities of the hotel. Very pleasant staff in every department, especially the bar, very efficient and friendly service. It is in a good location, within walking distance of both the Beach and Marina. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Went back for lunch whilst in Vilamoura last month and was amazed to be recognised and greeted as if we had never left. Now on my list for next year! Stayed three nights in this hotel and we weren't disappointed. Rooms with the balcony and a panoramic view were worth the extra money. The rooms themselves were beautiful. Breakfast offered a great range and the three course evening meals were just delicious. We would go back for the apple crumble alone! The pools were cool but it was November after all. Kayaking on the lake was fun and the gym was a great size with plenty on offer. The Turkish baths and spa were a great way to finish your day... Read more

Stayed in October, note hotel closes over Winter months. Hotel: I would rate this as a 5* European standard but probably 4* Asia standard. Quiet, modern and clean. Very good breakfast spread, includes soy milk, salads, linseed, flax seeds etc (also, pastel de natas!). Free bikes are also available at the hotel. In October, it's quite quiet and the roads are fairly flat. Slippers, robes, Nespresso machine and turn down service. The spa has good variety of facilities and there is a changing room... Read more

Beautifully presented hotel inside and out with lovely grounds. Restaurants and bar had good food and extensive menu choices. Spotlessly clean in all areas and all members of staff were friendly and helpful. Close to the Marina and the beach. Spa facilities were also excellent.

We stayed here for 12 nights half board mid/late October having had an excellent stay in March this year. On the whole we had another lovely holiday but there were a few significant downsides this time, most noticeable in the level of service received from some staff and lack of attention to detail. These issues sadly caused unnecessary stress and frustration on our much anticipated holiday, and are not in keeping with what we have come to expect from 5 star establishments. We were also rather ... Read more

This hotel is within walking distance of Vilamoura marina although there's plenty on site if you fancy staying put. The rooms are excellent and the breakfast offers everything you could ask for. There's also a pool with its own man made beach on site. It's definitely the best place to stay in the area.

We decided to book an apartment as we had a stowaway in the form of our daughter so wanted more room than a hotel room.As the hotel was quiet we had a block to ourselves and a two bed two bath apartment with a view of the Port in Vilamoura. Accommodation was spacious enough for three or four and the balcony had enough garden furniture to lounge and eat. The grounds are beautiful the staff very well mannered without fawning over you food good quality and excellent. Cleaning good facilities in roo... Read more

We stopped off for a drink at this hotel 8 years ago and vowed to stay here if we ever came back (and could afford it!). We did just that this summer and sadly it did not live up to expectations. On the plus side, the location is fabulous set between the beach (which is stunning) and the marina. The hotel grounds are very attractive and the hotel itself is still as impressive as ever from the outside. Disappointments, however, included surly staff (with one or two exceptions), the fact that a... Read more
