Walking into this hotel was like being in paradise, everything about it was pure class... The view as you walk out towards the pool of the beach & sea was breathtaking..... Perfectly situated on the beach, close to marina, lovely 5-10 minute walk, staff friendly & polite, food was lovely & buffet breakfast was delicious, best I've ever had. Swimming pool was huge, plenty of quality comfortable sun loungers & parasols, beach bar was nice, everything about this hotel was wonderful. The beds were t... Read more

Cant fault this hotel, One of the best hotels iv'e been too. Room was on the eleventh floor (upstairs and downstairs) Two bathrooms, Comfortable bed, Balcony, Sea and City view. Excellent location, Clean throughout. Great choice for breakfast and dinner. Staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. Our room came with a free day use of the Spa which was amazing. Usual price 11 Euros which I wouldn't of mind paying because its worth it. Will defiantly stay there again.

we had 3 suites on the 8th floor of this beautiful hotel, are were impressed from the moment we walked in to the moment we checked out at left. Front of house staff were amazing, very accommodating, not a single request too big or small, everyone was polite, happy and genuinely looked like they were happy to help. the breakfast team, room service team, spa team, everyone was passionate. Just back home from staying at the Crowne Plaza Vilamoura. Very shocked at the 5 star reviews. In my opinion this is more like a 3 star hotel. Was very disappointed with this hotel. Very dark and tired interior. Lobby and reception not 5 star at all. Breakfast buffet just horrible unless you want to queue up for one lady making omelettes. (they were ok) Room tiny and not the cleanest. Very dirty floor and smears all over glass surfaces in the bathroom, stains on the bedding and we stayed ... Read more

We have stayed here twice, once in June 2013 and again August 2015. First time was with our daughter and the room was lovely with a fold out bed for our daughter. Second time we also had our son so had to have a suite. The suite is really lovely. As you walk in you have a bathroom on the left, carry on through and you have a seating area, the sofa is used as a bed. Upstairs you have a bed and another bathroom. My wife and I visited for 4 days at the end of May '16. The hotel is absolutely wonderful and we could not have wished for a more idyllic location and stay. There were more than enough sunbeds by the pool and the pool bar was good value, taking into account it is part of a 5 star hotel. The beach is literally across the road from the hotel (accessed via a gate which you open with your room key) and there are a number of sunbed sites available at a cost of just over 10 Euros for 2 beds for the da... We (2 adults and 1 child) travelled at the end of May 2016 with another family (2 adults and 2 children). We all got ocean view rooms with plenty of room for adults and children (our children we all aged 11 upwards). Despite it being half term and the hotel being full it didn't feel it. Never a problem getting sunbeds (and all come with umbrellas which was necessary when it got a bit too hot to sit in the sun). We went bed and breakfast and most days got lunch/snacks poolside or at the hotel. Fo... Read more

Our second visit to Vilamoura, first time we stayed at The Spa Resort and enjoyed 5 star treatment throughout. Unfortunately the Crowne Plaza I would rate more 3 star. The highlight was the amazing Bruno who looked after the pool area, he and his poolside colleagues had great customer care skills. The same could not be said for the breakfast staff. We stayed in the crown plaza for two nights at the beginning of June. It was our first time at the crowne plaza but second time in vilamoura. We previously stayed in in Tivioli Marina and in my opinion the crowne plaza was much more pleasant. I think it is a good example of a 4 star hotel. The rooms are clean and of a decent standard. We have just returned from a very relaxing break at the Crown Plaza in Vilamoura.. Location, style, quality and very good friendly staff makes this the perfect hotel for a very good holiday. In our opinion this hotel has the best location in Vilamoura. By the beach but just a short walk to the marina. We enjoyed our walk on the new promenade to the next beach resort that has a fish market and several good reasonable in price fish restaurants.

We've just returned from a 5 night stay here for our 20th wedding anniversary. We had a standard room with side sea view quarteira side which was nice. We had room service and clean towels every day. Mini bar in room was a little bit pricey at 3 euro for a can of coke but was nice to have it there if needed. We stayed here as a group of four golfing girls in June in twins rooms. It's a very stylish hotel, well maintained and very clean and very well ran, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were plenty big enough and well equipped , although it had a hair dryer , I used my own. Staying in room 932 ocean front room on the 9th floor, we feel as if we are on the beach the view day or night is excellent. Watching the fishing boats come in early in the morning heading towards the harbor. Or late afternoon watching waves, the breakfast is excellent and so much choice, great shower and rooms. Friendly staff always want to help. Much improved pool area with many more beds.

What a wonderful hotel. So modern, clean and very up to date. Wifi throughout the whole hotel. Porter service, rooms cleaned daily. Complimentary water daily in rooms. Breakfast had a vast choice of hot and cold, the best fresh fruit selection, no porridge on display but not a problem to ask staff to bring to your table. Prime location near to the marina. Really enjoyed our stay in this magnificent hotel so much that I didn't want to leave.

Where to begin???? Okay, so the title of this review says 'Practically Perfect' and I have to say that for us as a couple it was. From the first minute, when a courteous concierge attended to us without expecting a tip to the last minute when we could have full use of the facilities before a late flight home. It really was practically perfect. The bonus was a free room upgrade which the lovely receptionist gave us without us even asking! It meant our short break - Sunday to Wednesday - was extra... We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for two weeks in July. The hotel is very spacious ,clean and in a great location. The breakfasts are very good as there is a great choice including fresh fruit to bacon and eggs. One minor complaint is the water that you are given for your tea is lukewarm at best. The staff are friendly and very efficient. I don't get the reason for having a bedroom that has a view into the toilet/bathroom (electronic screen is available).

Me and my family stayed at a junior suite on the 11th floor at probably the most busiest time of the year especially for families - the week after the school break up for summer. Despite this the Crowne plaza and staff did very well and deserve praise. We chose this hotel after reading the other travellers reviews. The Crowne Plaza is a nice hotel, very modern, great location, good facilities. However, I feel the service at this hotel lets it down and with a few adjustments, this hotel could be great. Breakfast is of good quality and they replenish the food regularly. However, trying to get a tea or coffee in the morning is very hit & miss. As we stayed in a suite we were able to eat breakfast in the smaller restaurant which was suppose to be a privilege, however the service was very poor as they seemed... Read more

We spent one week at this hotel. Well-situated resort close to the beach. Large and comfortable parking. Very good pool. Rooms were large, comfortable and clean, with consistently good service. Comfortable beds and shower. The reception was friendly and attentive. Good breakfast with much to select from. We tried the dinner buffet twice and were happy with it, same for the lunch restaurant. Consistently good wi-fi in the room. Strongly recommended!

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Vilamoura for a very restful week of sunbathing, swimming and relaxing and it suited these purposes perfectly. The kids loved the pool, lounge, gym and spa and it had direct beach access which was fantastic. The room was rather on the small side but we were never in it except to sleep. Beautiful relaxing pool area, rooms very spacious, modern and clean could do with a kettle but I read on trip advisor there was no kettle so took our own anyway but there is a nespresso which my husband enjoyed. There is also a mini bar fridge and fresh water supplied free daily. Breakfast was lovely fresh fruit, p... Read more

Wonderful stay in every way, good food good service, friendly staff, well recommended. Location could not be better. Only complaint was picking up the hired car was not told their was hidden extras to pay which we was not informed instead of the price being £215.00 it was extra £260.00, but this was nothing to do with the hotel just the tour company Alphrooms

This is our 3rd year at Vilamoura - first time at The Crowne Plaza - we all loved it - the 100 meter pool is absolutely gorgeous- comfy sun loungers with huge umbrellas - breakfast and evening meal was outstanding - no complaints about the hotel - it is just perfect - we spent hours at the Marina just a 10 minute walk away it is beautiful - they have completed the walk way to Quarteria and you can walk for miles along the front - well worth a visit - shops and snack bars are much cheaper than th... We stayed 4 nights in September. The hotel is in a great location just a short walk to the marina which is full of restaurants and bars. The room we had although sea view was not as I had expected and had a side sea view which was fine The room itself was spacious and had everything needed and breakfast was extensive. My only negative is the sun beds. On the day we arrived there were no sun beds around the pool left so we laid in the gardens. The beds around the pool have thick mattresses on a... Read more

Excellent location - right on the beach front between the older resort of Queteria and Vilamoura marina. Stayed in a junior suite on the 10th floor with fabulous balcony view out to the beach. The hotel pool is huge with plenty of sun loungers. We've stayed here during high season (August) and low season (October). There's a pool bar at one end - you can order and they deliver to your sun lounger. Spa facilities also excellent- only down side is lack of signage! Indoor pool and hydro pool in t... Read more

Stayed here for 5 nights in mid October. Weather was lovely apart from one day of cloud. As a treat we booked a hotel instead of self catering. We were not disappointed, although having read previous reviews I was slightly apprehensive, but I must say that our trip was great. We were bed and breakfast and didn't eat any other meals in the hotel as we enjoyed dinning at the marina every night. The breakfasts were great, we made sure we were in the dinning room by 8.30 at the latest so we neve... Read more

Had a fabulous holiday with my family for a few days. The outdoor pool is huge and the staff are excellent with a a particular mention going to Miguel Pinhu who looked after us so well in the bar when we did not receive quite what was ordered- an excellent member of staff. The rooms were spotless and a pleasure to stay in . Would definitely return. Thanks.

We came back to the Crowne Plaza for the second time during the October half term. The weather was beautiful all week except for two days. As usual everything was fantastic in the hotel. Two minutes walk from the Marina (which has many new restaurants this year). Many lovely restaurants and bars to choose from. Breakfast again was amazing in the hotel, advisable to go early and not leave till last minute as you have to queue a little longer. The maid service was spot on yet again and also the li... My wife, my son and I stayed in the Crowne Plaza for a week at the end of October and can highly recommend it. The hotel is in a great location, right next to the beach and is only a 5 to 10 minute walk from the bustling Vilamoura Marina with its large selection of restaurants and bars. The room was clean and tidy, with a nice comfy bed, adequate clothes storage space and although the shower was great, the only slight negative point regarding the room was the glass 'wall' separating the bathro... Spacious comfortable accommodation and enthusiastic, welcoming staff were the mark of the hotel. A wonderful, fresh breakfast buffet. Great location, leading onto the paseo. Plenty of parking. The disappointment for us was the event catering. Every main course was over-cooked, and over-dry. Too long on the pass waiting to serve. Such a shame.

We stayed here for four days whilst attending an event which lasted from Thursday to Sunday. The overall experience of the hotel was very good. The public areas are large, clean, well lit, with lots of space for sitting and relaxing and maybe watching sport on TV. The bar is large and there is an extensive area outside with tables and chairs leading to the pool which itself is large with lots of sun loungers facing south. The staff are very well trained, attentive, friendly and always put the cu... Read more

We decided to grab a little time away after a hectic start to the year. We had been to Vilamoura before so we had a good idea of what we were looking for in a hotel and location. The Crowne Plaza fitted our needs very well. We had to hunt a little to find the flights and dates we preferred and we were lucky as it came together very neatly much to our delight and surprise. I know the hotels quite well having stayed at others in Europe. So expectations were in place when we arrived. I have a lit... Read more

This was our fourth stay here. Super location, helpful bar staff and amazing breakfasts. It is simply impossible to overlook the serious hygiene issues at the hotel at present. The pool area is being tortured by flocks of marauding seagulls - as a result the area is covered in bird faeces and pieces of raw fish which the birds fight over. Our balcony was also covered in bird droppings and was not cleaned effectively. I expressed my grave concerns officially on two occasions and was promised tha... Read more

The bathrooms have completely see through glass from the bed area, through to the fabulous shower, separate wash area, toilet and bidet sections and it took a day to realise that there is a switch on the wall that operates a screen that drops down from the ceiling for privacy. My husband and I recently enjoyed a Mini break here on a Half Board basis. Although we had booked a Deluxe Room, it was on the 2nd floor, overlooking the in/out driveway at the front of the hotel, rather than having a view of the beach. There was only one chair, both in the room and on the balcony, so unsuitable for a couple, esp. if one wanted Room Service. Spent 7 nights at this excellent hotel in the first week of November. It is a very spacious hotel with staff that made us feel very welcome. Our room was on the 6th floor with a view from our balcony looking out to the Atlantic and the local fishing harbour. The room was spacious, practical with a large bathroom and excellent shower. Short break last week to get some winter sunshine and Portugal did not disappoint! Hotel was great and, we thought, looked much better in real life than represented in some of the photos we had seen. Our room was on the 10th floor with a side sea view looking over towards Quarteira. Very spacious with a huge, comfortable bed and a gorgeous large bathroom with powerful shower. Visited this hotel which for a 5 star is lovely but am disappointed that a charge is made to use the inside pool of 11 euros per person per day. Also no bath robes were available in the room, these had to be requested. I thought at least a hotel of this calibre would allow access to the swimming pool. Rooms had still not been made up at 3pm each day. The staff however were very helpful.
