Walking into this hotel was like being in paradise, everything about it was pure class... The view as you walk out towards the pool of the beach & sea was breathtaking..... Perfectly situated on the beach, close to marina, lovely 5-10 minute walk, staff friendly & polite, food was lovely & buffet breakfast was delicious, best I've ever had. Swimming pool was huge, plenty of quality comfortable sun loungers & parasols, beach bar was nice, everything about this hotel was wonderful. The beds were t... Read more

Cant fault this hotel, One of the best hotels iv'e been too. Room was on the eleventh floor (upstairs and downstairs) Two bathrooms, Comfortable bed, Balcony, Sea and City view. Excellent location, Clean throughout. Great choice for breakfast and dinner. Staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. Our room came with a free day use of the Spa which was amazing. Usual price 11 Euros which I wouldn't of mind paying because its worth it. Will defiantly stay there again.

we had 3 suites on the 8th floor of this beautiful hotel, are were impressed from the moment we walked in to the moment we checked out at left. Front of house staff were amazing, very accommodating, not a single request too big or small, everyone was polite, happy and genuinely looked like they were happy to help. the breakfast team, room service team, spa team, everyone was passionate. Just back home from staying at the Crowne Plaza Vilamoura. Very shocked at the 5 star reviews. In my opinion this is more like a 3 star hotel. Was very disappointed with this hotel. Very dark and tired interior. Lobby and reception not 5 star at all. Breakfast buffet just horrible unless you want to queue up for one lady making omelettes. (they were ok) Room tiny and not the cleanest. Very dirty floor and smears all over glass surfaces in the bathroom, stains on the bedding and we stayed ... Read more

We have stayed here twice, once in June 2013 and again August 2015. First time was with our daughter and the room was lovely with a fold out bed for our daughter. Second time we also had our son so had to have a suite. The suite is really lovely. As you walk in you have a bathroom on the left, carry on through and you have a seating area, the sofa is used as a bed. Upstairs you have a bed and another bathroom. My wife and I visited for 4 days at the end of May '16. The hotel is absolutely wonderful and we could not have wished for a more idyllic location and stay. There were more than enough sunbeds by the pool and the pool bar was good value, taking into account it is part of a 5 star hotel. The beach is literally across the road from the hotel (accessed via a gate which you open with your room key) and there are a number of sunbed sites available at a cost of just over 10 Euros for 2 beds for the da... We (2 adults and 1 child) travelled at the end of May 2016 with another family (2 adults and 2 children). We all got ocean view rooms with plenty of room for adults and children (our children we all aged 11 upwards). Despite it being half term and the hotel being full it didn't feel it. Never a problem getting sunbeds (and all come with umbrellas which was necessary when it got a bit too hot to sit in the sun). We went bed and breakfast and most days got lunch/snacks poolside or at the hotel. Fo... Read more

Our second visit to Vilamoura, first time we stayed at The Spa Resort and enjoyed 5 star treatment throughout. Unfortunately the Crowne Plaza I would rate more 3 star. The highlight was the amazing Bruno who looked after the pool area, he and his poolside colleagues had great customer care skills. The same could not be said for the breakfast staff. We stayed in the crown plaza for two nights at the beginning of June. It was our first time at the crowne plaza but second time in vilamoura. We previously stayed in in Tivioli Marina and in my opinion the crowne plaza was much more pleasant. I think it is a good example of a 4 star hotel. The rooms are clean and of a decent standard. We have just returned from a very relaxing break at the Crown Plaza in Vilamoura.. Location, style, quality and very good friendly staff makes this the perfect hotel for a very good holiday. In our opinion this hotel has the best location in Vilamoura. By the beach but just a short walk to the marina. We enjoyed our walk on the new promenade to the next beach resort that has a fish market and several good reasonable in price fish restaurants.

We've just returned from a 5 night stay here for our 20th wedding anniversary. We had a standard room with side sea view quarteira side which was nice. We had room service and clean towels every day. Mini bar in room was a little bit pricey at 3 euro for a can of coke but was nice to have it there if needed. The rooms were plenty big enough and well equipped , although it had a hair dryer , I used my own. Stayed here for a week for my birthday lovely hotel , very well located on seafront 10 min walk to marina and all restaurants, bars etc.ten minutes the other way takes you to more old traditional fish restaurants and fishing port. It's all flat for easy walking too. We had a junior suite the room was amazing bed was so comfy, lovely lamps furniture etc. Only criticism had to ask for more hangers had at least three meters of hanging space about 6 hangers but they were delivered to room within ten... Staying in room 932 ocean front room on the 9th floor, we feel as if we are on the beach the view day or night is excellent. Watching the fishing boats come in early in the morning heading towards the harbor. Or late afternoon watching waves, the breakfast is excellent and so much choice, great shower and rooms. Friendly staff always want to help. Much improved pool area with many more beds.

What a wonderful hotel. So modern, clean and very up to date. Wifi throughout the whole hotel. Porter service, rooms cleaned daily. Complimentary water daily in rooms. Breakfast had a vast choice of hot and cold, the best fresh fruit selection, no porridge on display but not a problem to ask staff to bring to your table. Prime location near to the marina. Really enjoyed our stay in this magnificent hotel so much that I didn't want to leave.

Where to begin???? Okay, so the title of this review says 'Practically Perfect' and I have to say that for us as a couple it was. From the first minute, when a courteous concierge attended to us without expecting a tip to the last minute when we could have full use of the facilities before a late flight home. It really was practically perfect. The bonus was a free room upgrade which the lovely receptionist gave us without us even asking! It meant our short break - Sunday to Wednesday - was extra... We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for two weeks in July. The hotel is very spacious ,clean and in a great location. The breakfasts are very good as there is a great choice including fresh fruit to bacon and eggs. One minor complaint is the water that you are given for your tea is lukewarm at best. The staff are friendly and very efficient. I don't get the reason for having a bedroom that has a view into the toilet/bathroom (electronic screen is available).

Have stayed for business on a number of occasions at this hotel. On the last visit I had the opportunity to use the spa which was really really lovely. Treatments were great. The staff are incredibly helpful and the rooms are lovely. The breakfast is a particular win!

Me and my family stayed at a junior suite on the 11th floor at probably the most busiest time of the year especially for families - the week after the school break up for summer. Despite this the Crowne plaza and staff did very well and deserve praise. We chose this hotel after reading the other travellers reviews. You will not find this level of service and quality in England. As you enter the main entrance to your left is the reception and we managed to get our cards, wifi password and into ... Read more

The Crowne Plaza is a nice hotel, very modern, great location, good facilities. However, I feel the service at this hotel lets it down and with a few adjustments, this hotel could be great. Breakfast is of good quality and they replenish the food regularly. However, trying to get a tea or coffee in the morning is very hit & miss. As we stayed in a suite we were able to eat breakfast in the smaller restaurant which was suppose to be a privilege, however the service was very poor as they seemed... Read more

Stayed with a party of six June 2016 loved this hotel , had a lovely room on the 11 th floor with stunning views . There is a coffee machine in the room which uses capsules coffee was very nice touch after the couple of capsules when you run out you can purchase more for 2 euros each, or purchase a pack at nearby stores . Breakfast is very good I would think you would be very unlucky if you did not find something that you could eat my only gripe is the tea really is not hot enough and this is ... Read more

We spent one week at this hotel. Well-situated resort close to the beach. Large and comfortable parking. Very good pool. Rooms were large, comfortable and clean, with consistently good service. Comfortable beds and shower. The reception was friendly and attentive. Good breakfast with much to select from. We tried the dinner buffet twice and were happy with it, same for the lunch restaurant. Consistently good wi-fi in the room. Strongly recommended!

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Vilamoura for a very restful week of sunbathing, swimming and relaxing and it suited these purposes perfectly. The kids loved the pool, lounge, gym and spa and it had direct beach access which was fantastic. The room was rather on the small side but we were never in it except to sleep. You have to be down by the pool before 8am to reserve a lounger, before they are nabbed by guests, but I'm usually up before 7am so this wasn't a problem. My son cut his foot 3 times in ... Read more

Just back from a 7 night stay and I must say I was very impressed with this Hotel. 98% of the staff were polite and helpful. Rooms clean and modern. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Food very good both breakfast and evening dinner. The presentation of the food in the restaurant in the evening was lovely. Only a couple of points stopped me giving this a 5 star rating. No seats in the grassed area. I like to read and find it uncomfortable to read lying on a sun bed. That said there was always p... Read more

Please have them consider putting a kettle in the rooms with mugs so that guests can have tea or coffee in the room. A mirror in the main room so that women can sit and do make up etc. Also there was only one seat on the balcony when there was two of us staying. There were no dressing gowns and as it was a five star room I didn't pack any. Other than that we had a great time. Staff were great.

Just back from 10 days in Crowne Plaza, Vilamoura, and loved it. Ideally situated, staff very helpful and friendly, enough space for all with lots of sunbeds around the pool. Breakfast was the best I have had at a hotel in a very long time, with a good selection of everything you could wish for. The fruit was especially good and all fresh and well presented. Around the pool, the staff gave out free fruit skewers every afternoon. The water aerobics was good fun - not too long and not loud an... Read more

We stayed here end of July start of August. After our taxi driver getting lost trying to find the hotel we were delighted to feel the air conditioning of the hotel. The staff were friendly but not over the top. The carpet along the corridors to our room was like sand even with footprints. The room was a good size for three of us. The bathroom is probably the most impressive one I have seen, walk in shower, in nice brown tiles. We had three free bottles of water everyday but staff would only have... Read more

The horrible smell hits you as soon as you enter the building. I'm not sure what the smell is but I think it's like a stale mouldy smell. Could be drainage issues or dampness. Arrived on Friday 5th August. So we are still here. Check in was quick and efficient. We were not expecting our room to be ready so it was a surprise to be told it was. Early flight from Glasgow, and hotel states check in is 2pm. So this was a great bonus. Room is really lovely, beds very comfy, bathroom and shower lov... Read more

Though this hotel is very much set-up for family holidays, as a couple, we really enjoyed our stay. We stayed half-bard & food was great, though getting tea/coffee in the mornings can be a challenge, but to us that was a source of amusement. Hotel facilities were great; outdoor pool is at least 100 mts long; small-pool, play area & pirate ship are brilliant for young kids; an odd grumpy member of staff, but the vast majority are very friendly; beach-view rooms ... a little more expensive so we c... Great hotel, cannot say how friendly helpful all the staff are, reception, restaurant, everyone is out to help you if needed. The food is fab, huge choice one of the best I have had and I have stayed in lots of hotels, hot plates and hot food. The shower in the bedroom was great, again one of the best and so was the comfy bed! I guess if I had one negative things to say it would be that the pool area is not the best considering the outstanding hotel, but the beach is two minutes away and is deli... Read more

The rooms this hotel are absolutely gorgeous, really modern with large walk in shower. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the food is good too. The only problem is that there are not enough sun beds and to get the beds near the pool with the walk in handrail (which you need if you are disabled) you need to be there at 6.00am in the morning!!

Visited here a couple of weeks ago with 4 other friends, we wanted a relaxing but fun girls holiday without cheap tack and that's exactly what we got! A beautiful hotel throughout from rooms to pool to location. The hotel is a 5/10 minute walk to the marina which has several restaurants and bars and is a 5 minute taxi ride from Aquashow which is a great water park! Great hotel, great location, staff could do better My petty hate e is Luke warm water for tea. Just my luck I got that every single morning. On day 5 I decided to take issue. Took me 10 waves, eventually almost shouting to get attention of waiting staff who go around with blinkers on. When said that water was cold waitor took it away and never brought a replacement. She seemed to take a strop at me. Seemed to be staff just swanning around doing nothing and giving impression they did not want... Read more

In the bathroom was a little card ( to tell about towels) which said "small things make a big difference". We stayed here for 12 days and enjoyed our holiday but there were lots of small things missing that I was expecting in a 5* hotel. No welcome drink , robes, turndown service. It was my OHs birthday while we were there , nothing to mark it. The breakfast was the quality that was expected but trying to get a coffee outside was like something from faulty towers . Wasn't expecting too much from the Crowne Plaza - thought it would be a bit dated and run down given previous experience. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel was in excellent condition, with modern, well maintained facilities. Hotel restaurant is very nice and great pool and bar area. Stayed there a couple of weeks ago. Can't fault it to be fair. Rooms great Pool great. Staff fine with me and my family. Had really great time. Would go back. Yes there are some really sad people who get up at 06.30 in the morning and stick their towels on a sun bed (and the token hat/book) to make it look like they are using. And then go back to bed.Do what I did and take them off and put them in various piles near by. Hilarious seeing the reaction. (yes it was me, suckers)

We stayed here ten nights. The location is great. On the beach, ten mins walk to the marina. Probably the best service I've experienced in 25 years traveling. Staff were excellent and really made a difference. The hotel is a little dated but still very nice. We had a junior suite overlooking the pool and beach. Nice room. Huge bed - very comfortable.
