We stayed 3 nights at this hotel, as part of a guided tour of Portugal. It is very snazzy, all glass and chrome, more like a business hotel than a tourist one. The mattress in our double bedroom was rock hard and we didn't like the all glass bathroom with slatted blinds. You had to use the glass elevators to get to the bedrooms, even if you would have liked to use the stairs. Because it is out of the centre of Porto, we had dinner included in our tour and the food was bland and/or overcooked. D... Read more

From the moment I walked through the door I knew we were in a great hotel. We stayed here for 2 nights during our road trip around Spain and Portugal. The service we received was outstanding! The checkin staff, I think her name was SARA, and checkout staff were very professional and I was shocked when she told us our room had been upgraded to a Club Room! (Maybe because we were on honeymoon :) She explained everything to us and was very informative. Our room was on the 10th floor and it was pret... Read more

Stayed at this hotel the night before our flight back home since it's only 15 minutes from the airport. Really really nice hotel with great staff. Everyone from the people at the front fest interacted with at the front desk, the bell hop and the Club Lounge attendant. I'll say it again super super nice and helpful staff.

This is a really outstanding hotel - the only drawback being that it is a little way outside of the city centre. The rooms are very comfortable, have all the facilities one would expect of this group. Breakfast was better than most hotels we have stayed in and dinner in the restaurant was very good - particularly the service. Would have no hesitation in staying or recommending this hotel when in Porto.

I am a coeliac and was assured that the hotel could accommodate my dietary needs. I was offered very substandard alternatives to the three course menu offered to other members of our party. Not how the Hotel portrayed itself. The rooms have a clinical feel and the heavy glass sliding door to the bathroom hazardous. Room service dire, it took an hour to get our coffee, with the explanation " We were busy" ! Not a tourist hotel. Will definitely not be using this chain of hotels again

Amazing hotel in very quiet area. Impressive lounge, spacious rooms and great views are just some of the things you would have to like this hotel for. Hotel itself is not in the tourist area (hence quiet) but it is walking distance to the ocean. Taxis are cheap and drivers are always very happy to tell you history of the building you are interested in so do not bother with local buses. Very good breakfast and resonably priced ala cart dinner in hotel can save you time and money.

We had an overnight stay. We found the hotel quite large, modern, very good room, impeccable helpful services with vey good price. Everything as expected of a 5* hotel. Got upgraded to executive floor due to our Starwood status. Price very reasonable as we booked early. Located in a quiet neighborhood slightly far from the touristy area but an easy cab ride ($10 Euro). For us, it was a good base to visit Porto as we were on a driving tour. Upon my check-in, I was greeted very warmly and upgraded to a junior suite per my SPG status. However, the short good experience just ended there after I walked into my room. The room has obvious evidence of smoking odor from the previous guest(s). I immediately informed the front desk in person and was told that the issue will be addressed while I am out and about, otherwise, I will be moved to another room. 6 hours later, I came back to my room and the odor was still strong although I could se... This hotel has clearly seen better days with the qualities of the fittings - a door that does not close after itself leaving one vulnerable to intruders; Sink taps that have small leaks on the side; and most annoying of all an A/C system that keeps going bump bump bump in the night making sleep impossible. The hotel is located outside the touristy part of the city, which means it's quiet, but only about 15 minutes from the river. The location is probably better for business than tourism - you have to drive or take a short taxi ride to the historic part of the city but it's easy. I was upgraded to a suite which had a huge private balcony. Room service was good. Go for the fish. You can walk out from the hotel and within a 20 minute walk find various restaurants to eat at to accommodate any budget. Great hotel, staff very helpful. Good choice at breakfast, club lounge great place to relax after a day sight seeing. Used gym - good selection of equipment. Spa very relaxing. Extra charge for guests, but husband a platinum Starwood member so spa was inclusive as was the executive lounge. Great pool area and well designed sauna and steam rooms and relaxation areas. Would recommend hotel.

My wife and stayed two nights at the Sheraton in Porto as part of a ten day touring holiday in Portugal. We booked with a booking agent and grabbed a last minute bargain. The hotel was a bit lacklustre and the breakfast was, at best, average but it was OK for a couple of nights. When we came to leave, my wife went to settle the bill and was surprised to find that it bore no relation to the booking agent price. Unfortunately, she'd made the booking on her mobile phone shortly before we arrived an... Read more

Conference trip at the Sheraton. I'd already stayed here before and the hotel remains great and well taken care of. It's a modern top class hotel, although not really luxury. The ambiance is relaxed and most of the guests are biz or couples, also some families. The room is really very comfortable. It has a great couch to put up your feet and unwind. Huge bed, soft linen and cool bathroom (with glass wall, you need to draw the blind or else your room mates will see you). The breakfast buffet is ... Read more

Needed to spend a night in Porto so settled for a well known brand. This is a business hotel and as such the name lives to expectation. Room are nice and functional, and there is a lot of glass which some might not like. The spa and swimming pool area was good and mostly quiet. One has to pay extra for it and I was aware of it at the time of booking. However I think it would be more "elegant" to include it in the price rather that charging extra separately, it just seems weird to pay extra to us... Read more

good quiet location (near subway, 10 minutes by car from Ribeira), beautiful design commons and room, good service, nice various buffet breakfast, everything ok but very dangerous bathroom: the door from the shower doesn't close well, so each time you take a shower, water goes out all around in the bathroom. That is slippy just like ice skating. We stayed there 2 nights, and I always had to put towels to wash out, what a pity! So scared about getting leg broken! I suppose the problem exists sinc... We stayed in this hotel on two separate nights at the beginning and end of our holidays. The first stay was good, comfortable interconnecting club rooms, very good breakfast and a good recommendation for our restaurant for dinner. The second stay was a disaster. My boyfriend and I stayed here 2 nights. We loved this hotel! Very elegant , clean and friendly staff. The only drawback is that it's far from the action down by the river. The hotel is very smart and its staff are efficient. From our welcome with a glass of port onwards our stay has gone smoothly. The restaurant meals have been very good, service excellent. The only negatives would be: it is a long way from the old town so taxis are needed, there is no tea and coffee making equipment in the rooms, and bar and restaurant drinks are rather expensive. A comfortable stay.

We loved our three nights at this Sheraton. We stayed on the Club level and enjoyed watching the sunset in the evening on the deck with wine and tapas. The room was quiet and well appointed and the included breakfast buffet was delicious. Also loved that it was easy to get in and out of Porto by car, and the free valet was a wonderful perk.
