I am not a big fan of Accor hotels since they usually exactly the same everywhere you go but I got a very good deal for a group stay. I was disappointed when I was approaching the hotel looking at the very unassuming façade but I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms in Mercure Porto Centro were not only spacious but also they are decorated with local objects - white and blue tiles and ceramic swallows. Nice touch. The hotel was very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel ... Read more

Hotel is nice, rooms are not so big, bathroom is also small but ok. Nothing special. Location is very good, safe neighborhood and walking distance to old town. The breakfast was various and very good. The staff was good and very friendly.

Hotel is located in the heart of the historic city of Porto, with many attractions just around the corner. Room was good and clean. Breakfast with big variety of things. Would definitely stay again. Staff was helpful and made our stay smoother.

What a fantastic location. A short walk from the metro, the tourist bits and surrounded by bars, restaurants and cafés Modern, clean and in good order. The best part, there were wooden internal shutters on the window, as a traveller for work I often need a good nights sleep, this made the rooms dark and silent. Though on the morning of departure, someone came in my room when I was in the shower and the do not disturb sign was up, this happened to my colleague in the next room who was stil... Read more

The Hotel is nice' clean, in a very good location. The team was very friendly. We manage to have parking beside the Hotel at a very good price. So it was also convinient. We paid for an upgrate room and we receive a very very nice room with a coffe express machine. Bath ropes and also a very large room with a very nice toilete It is not the cheapest possibility in Town, but you receive a proper value for your money

The hotel is pretty little closer to the main attractions, clean, very quiet, but was in reform and I have no view from window. Bathroom shower a little tight but don't commit the accommodation. Very close to the Sao Bento Station, Santa Catarina St and you can get the tourist bus in front of the hotel.

Good location, everything within walking distance. Staff extremely hepful and always friendly. Advised us on sites of interest and restaurants. Breakfast buffet just perfect. As it rained a lot during the 3 days we were there we very much appreciated coming back in between to a roomy and comfortable suite.

The hotel has been recently renovated. Our superior room was clean with view on the historical Porto. The decoration was very sober and a little gloomy. The room did not have a separate shower from the bathtub. The bedding was very good. The staff at the reception desk was friendly and helpful. That was not the case at the bar ! Neither at the restaurant and the food was ordinary.

We stayed 2 nights recently in the Mercure, which is very central to all old Town attractions. The Hop on Hop off bus has station in front of the hotel. They have good parking arrangement with near by public parking. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good have also Gluten free bread, cake . I would highly recommend it..

Central location. Beds hard. Food very poor. Rooms small. . Building work in progress at the moment so not restful. Staff pleasant. No garden or comfortable lounge area .Clean and functional. Really more suitable for business stay of one night.

Location: Location seriously can't be beat! Walking distance to most major attractions in the city, including Ribeiros/ old town, Se Cathedral, Clerigos Tower, nightlife street (Galleria de Paris), Sao Bento station, & the famous Luis bridge, and right next to the main shopping area (Santa Catarina street & shopping mall). Keep in mind that the hotel is around the top portion of a hill, so it wont be a problem going to the attractions but coming back may be a good workout (for some!). This is tr... Read more

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience staying at the Mercure - the staff are very welcoming, very helpful and happy to recommend to make things easier. The hotel is stylishly simple yet very comfortable and spacious. Nice to be able to open window to hear the birds, take photos and let in fresh air. Breakfast more than enough with cooked options but it favours the pastry lovers more but then, this is Portugal ! If arriving by metro with luggage, alight at Bolhao and walk down the hill whilst Sao... Read more

The Mercure is in a very good position for walking to most of the attractions of Porto. Outside there is a bus stop and a tram stop so getting around should not be a problem. I found the reception staff to be friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and the bed comfortable. There was renovations going on whilst we were there but they did not cause us any concern. The breakfast was good with a nice selection of continental and hot foods. The area it is in is a bit seedy and at night there are a lo... Read more

Having stayed and liked the Lisbon Mercure, we chose the Mercure Cento Porto Hotel. Another really good Mercure hotel. Fine staff. Great location in the center of town, close to the tour buses and sites.

We visited this lovely central hotel in Porto. Whilst it is being refurbished the hotel was still very comfortable. The work going on was hardly an interference for our stay. The breakfast was excellent. Staff were very helpful. Really good spot

If you've read any of my hotel reviews, you know I can be very particular about cleanliness, value and other amenities. These are generally a given, what often makes or breaks a review by me is the staff. This hotel was in a good location, we took the metro from the airport to Trindad station and walked the 4 or 5 blocks to the hotel. The check-in was swift, and the staff was extremely helpful. The doorman helped us learn the various features of the room and told us of area restaurants as well ... Read more

They were doing construction right outside our room and it was LOUD. The hotel offered to move us but that was a hastle - they did bring us a bottle of wine though to try rectify the situation. The hotel itself was very nice, and in an AMAZING location, so as long as you don't get screwed by the construction I recommend it!

We were a bit worried about staying here given comments about construction noise, but we didn't hear any --our room faced the back of the hotel, so maybe that helped. The room was a nice size for such a central location--however, there were no drawers, just a few open shelves, which made it difficult to truly unpack for more than a few days. The staff were very nice and helpful. We never had the breakfast, because there were so many nice cafes within a few feet of the hotel.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights. We'd originally had a booking in December however, upon arriving at the hotel we discovered that there were extensive renovations going on and the noise was incredible. We had received no warning in advance about this and felt we had no choice but to try to find another hotel. We received a refund and went to the hotel next door, the Quality Inn. When we got home my partner emailed to complain about the experience we'd had which had got our holiday o... Read more

I can't say enough about this hotel. Rooms were new, linens impeccable, restaurants tasty, staff attentive. And a great value. We had 4 rooms and they each were terrific. Pool is lovely with excellent views.
