It is what I would call a real luxurious hotel. Staff is taking care of everything you may need at any time of the day. Rooms are huge, clean and super confortable. They are also very well equipped with everything you may need. Price was really ok compared to the quality of service. I'll be back for sure! The restaurant was excellent and not expensive. The breakfast is perfect! One drawback may be that the road is making noise so when Windows are closed no issue at all but when opened..... Read more

Lovely hotel for a quiet stay. Ideal for couples. Not much for kids to do. There's one outdoor pool and inside they have a steam room/gym/ small indoor pool. The hotel and rooms are spotless. Breakfast is fantastic. Really nice buffet breakfast but you can also order from the menu too, so you can have crepes, pancakes etc. They even have complimentary prosecco/cava at breakfast so you can have a cheeky little mimosa. Not a lot to do in the evenings and when I was there the main bar was a bit dea... Read more

We stayed for two nights in early April 2016 and found the hotel excellent. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, full of history of Portugal and fun stories. Hotel itself is stunning - comprised of a 16th Century palacio (5 rooms) with many modern rooms added on. Beautiful park and outdoor pool (it was a bit cool for us to use) and gorgeous indoor spa and pool area. Very welcoming bar area. Excellent breakfast buffet and menu (included). Will definitely be back!

Was lucky enough to spend a long weekend here and cannot wait to return. The staff were all amazing from the greeting to check out. The old part of the hotel is beautiful and the new part well designed with spacious rooms and great bathroooms. The outdoor pool area, spa and gym where spotlessly clean and were never overcrouded. Breakfast was lovely and it was great to sit outside overlooking the ocean. Great location, walking distance to the train station, 20 mins into Lisbon.

The hotel is a refurbished palacio and all the public rooms are beautiful. The bedrooms are in a new section in the garden of the palacio built around the pool, beautiful garden and sweeping view towards the sea. They are all modern and to a very high standard. The staff are very helpful and friendly. You are shown to your room when you arrive and given a little history of the palacio and shown where all the facilities, spa etc are located. The walk to your room takes you through the stunning pal... The hotel itself is an absolute gem. As a avid student of literature the display of poems on the walls to rooms named after writers (we were in Charles Baudelaire) will leave us with fond unique memories of this hotel. The room was exceptional with a private porch next to the pool. Daily we returned to find a chocolate and a poem on the bed. Breakfast is a continental buffet although you can order cooked items. The staff are very helpful and we found Dario's passionate guide to the hotel on ar... Read more

A fantastic hotel just some minutes away from Lisbon where you can find the relaxation you need and still be in the city. The quality of the hotel is high in every aspect: facilities, services, spa and massages, restaurant (don't stay without trying the restaurant) and the place... Ask for a room with access to the garden if you have kids with you. Ask for a room in the 3rd floor if you are a couple and want relaxation. Do a massage that is worth experimenting since the masseurs are very good an... Read more

Situated halfway between Cascais and Lisbon this fab Hotel has great qualities,Pool, spa, restaurant, bar and gardens but lacks the necessary amounts of staff Although fab it struggled on checking in and car retrieval leaving us waiting 20 mins which is not the best experience for such a beautiful property i loved the blend of the old and the new and the staff were great just not enough of them

Hotel double booked us then offered us alternative accommodation at one of their sister hotels but they was both miles away from where we wanted to be and not very good quality. They never even offered to pay for our transport to and from the hotels, even though it was their error in double booking our reservation.

Visited for a long weekend with my partner, as we arrived in a cab from an overnight stay in Cascais which is a lovely quaint village I did question our choice as the hotel sits alongside a busy road, boy did this first impression disappear quickly. You enter the hotel reception through the walls and front entrance of the old but beautifully renovated Palacio, most of the public rooms for breakfast, dinner, bar etc are located in the Palacio itself which lends a very grand feel to your stay. The Hotel and its surrounds were excellent! Our room was on ground level, overlooking the Hotel garden, pool area, and the beach across the road. Their gardens are very well maintained and worth a stroll through. Outdoor pool magnificent, best we have ever seen and swam in :) Buffet breakfast was average, especially for "5" star rating. You can order eggs made to your liking, but you need to request it, its not something they willingly offer. Room service meals were very expensive for what you g... Read more

I stay at this hotel regularly on business and it's great every time. The rooms are huge, the beds are comfy and the bathrooms are well equipped with robes, slippers, toiletries etc. The only (small) criticism is that the walls are quite thin so you're likely to hear your neighbours. Breakfast is good, with both buffet and a la carte options. The location is quiet but there are several good restaurants within a one minute walk. Both Lisbon and Cascais are within easy reach.

We went there for a week for our honeymoon. The hotel is perfectly placed between Lisboa and Cascais, each only 20min or so on the train. The train station is only 3min walk away. Although next to a traffic heavy road at first site, the property is extremely quite and peaceful. They serve an amazing breakfast and have a good choice of dishes for lunch and dinner (the pork cheeks are amazing). There are quite a few very nice local restaurants near by as well. There is a nice beach within 10min w... Read more

This hotel is situated between the beach properties and the city so it makes it an excellent choice for those wanting to experience the latter but also want real downtime. The pool is fantastic and the view from my room was so tranquil. Delicious free breakfast, wine tasting on Wednesday evenings. Excellent service. Be forewarned that in Portugal there is no access to irons in the room. That can be one VERY expensive. Will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was extremely professional and delightful. There is a beautiful church on the property that we walked through many times during our stay. The breakfast buffet included in our room was great and the added bonus was sitting on the porch overlooking the water. We loved using the balcony off our room again with a beautiful view. We would highly recommend this hotel!

Arrival at this hotel is via a lovely cobbled courtyard. The hotel is a harmonious blend of old and new; most of the guest rooms are in a sympathetic modern extension but the dining and communal areas are in keeping with the 15th Century character of the building and are beautifully furnished with artwork on display. The guest rooms are well proportioned, clean and spread over 3 floors all looking towards the pool, gardens and sea. The beds are large and very comfortable. We stayed on a half-... Read more

From the moment we drove into the stone patio we were hooked. The new rooms were very nicely appointed and the view from the balcony was idyllic. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous and the staff so kind and helpful. That, together with the indoor and outdoor pools and gym made it a get-away to remember. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a serene and pampering atmosphere.

And it's not really negative point about the hotel itself . It didn't make our holiday less amazing . My partner and I came here to have a relaxing time. However it was a bit disappointed as there were too many children. I thought the spa swimming pool would be quiet but some children were there and in the gym as well. The staff are nice but sometimes it looked that they didn't like to work there, I mean the waiters. Especially in breakfast time. They avoided eyes contact and they look stress. It took ages for a cup of tea and some eggs... The food is average. The welcome drink is an orange ju... Read more

Really a 4 star - friendly staff but lacks attention to detail. Not enough sun loungers by the pool bought out the worst in people 'claiming them early'. The breakfast was really good and the village very near with good restaurants (but shut on Mondays). Easy to get about as train station 2 minutes walk and approx 15 minutes to Lisbon. Air con very loud but as thin walls it drowned out our noisy neighbours. We had smokers either side of us which meant our balcony was a 'no go area'. Nice garden ... Read more

Lovely hotel between central Lisbon and Cascais beach. Close to the train station so easy access and taxi only 12-15 euros to go central. The hotel is a good mix between modern (high standing) and traditional. All the staff was lovely and very helpful. The swimming pool area was great. The breakfast delicious. The only down point is the long walk to access your room if you have one in the other side of the complex.

The aim was to have a relaxed, calm break and we got that from the wonderful country, hotel, food and weather! The hotel is close enough to Lisbon (20 minutes by train which was roughly ?3 return) but far enough away to enjoy the peaceful surroundings! Small tip, make sure to visit the local restaurants, we dined as the tavern (Portuguese), Italian and Japanese restaurants and they were so enjoyable! The sushi was s... Read more

The building is great with its' mixture of ancient and modern. The room was lovely and big with all mod cons and a lovely balcony. The decor however was oppressive with too much dark brown and an absence of any real colour. The staff were all helpful and attentive. The downside was finding anyone to serve in the bar during the evenings. The pool was lovely but lacked any real consideration of towel use. We had to go to the spa to get a towel after the ones laid out in the morning had been used... Read more

Outdoor pool is a a main "meeting point: for almost all visitors. Location is also good - almost half way from Lisbon to Cascais. One can access both destinations easily by train or taxi. Made to feel very welcome and perfect for young family. The actual village is a little quiet and the nearby beach is small but you're only short train trips to Lisbon and Cascais. We also went to Sintra which is worth a trip. Lisbon hasn't many great landmarks as such but it's still nice for a wander. Teenagers would probably find the hotel too quiet but the food and overall service cannot be faulted.

My husband and I visited here for a week and had a great relaxing time. It's peaceful, and luxurious, right on the coast and the staff are very attentive and look after you. Part of the building is a renovated 15th Century palace and has real character. The hotel is very nice with modern, spacious room and great breakfast. The ocean view from our third floor room was awesome and the staff were friendly. The outdoor swimming pool was big and quiet although I found the indoor pool and sauna got little too crowded for my comfort. The thing I did not like was the time it took to get to the downtown Lisbon area. I read so many reviews before booking this hotel.
