We stayed one night in a wonderful room overlooking the little pool and the river. The room was beautifully decorated with such taste and elegance; I think that they had a wonderful interior designer. Breakfast was very good and it felt informal. Wonderful. The location is great: very central. We drove from the airport and the concierge parked our car. We found a bottle of port and pasteis de nata in our room as well. We would certainly stay there again.

I have just returned from a weekend in Lisbon, and the Memmo Alfama Hotel absolutely made the weekend. The hotel is hidden down a little cobbled street, which is just the beginning of the charm, once inside it has been beautifully designed with clever little taverns to sit and read your book, or have a glass of wine.. The whole atmosphere of the hotel is really relaxed and welcoming without being pretentious. The pool / terrace area was a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. I th... Read more

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and it was very well situated by the cathedral in Old Lisbon. The entrance is down a back alley and is very unassuming. The rooms are modern but small - lovely bathroom. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and the hotel provided us with a sparkling wine and home made brownies. There is no proper restaurant and breakfast is either at one long table or at scattered coffee tables. Service was erratic at breakfast. Beds comfy with beautiful linen.

This hotel is wonderfully different and is a great place to stay for couples, small groups of friends and solo travelers. Room was amazing, quiet, modern, comfortable with a breathtaking view. Location is absolutely perfect for Lisbon. Staff were professional. Fantastic breakfast, bar and restaurant were excellent. The deck has multiple terraces to find a quiet spot in the sun or shade. I loved waking up here! There were a couple days where we just opted to spend the afternoon on the deck rather... Read more

Nice cozy hotel tucked on a side street with a terrace overlooking old town Lisbon and the Tagus River. Staff spoke excellent English and were over-the-top accommodating. Booked restaurants, confirmed airline flights, printed boarding passes and provided directions and information on any attractions we wanted to see. There was a free 2 hr walking tour of the old town with the guide extremely knowledgeable of the history of Lisbon. Recommended. Great terrace on top of the hotel with a bar and ... Read more

Memmo Alfama is truely a great hotel. Stunning view to the old city centre, nice wine bar, kind and helpful staff...a great place to stay. We had a nice room located above the reception area. It was not very spatious, but very well decorated. The bed was excellent, so was the bathing room. Breakfast was great: lots of fresh products.

We have just returned from a fantastic long weekend in Lisbon which was undoubtedly enhanced by the hotel and the superb customer service we received. Service: The fantastic service began before we even arrived when I called the day before worrying that the restaurants I had emailed to book in advance hadn't got back to me. The hotel (I now know it was Vitor) said not to worry, what did I want and he would sort. Both restaurants he booked for us were superb, though very different - Duetos da S... Read more

Down a quiet street in the heart of the old town is this gem. Beautiful building & design. Friendly, helpful staff. We had a room with a terrace which was super. Excellent breakfast. Did walking tour which was great. Would not hesitate to stay here again if ever in Lisbon.

For destination this hotel is in a great spot. Alfama is a great part of Lisbon, with lots of great restaurants and bars a plenty. The hotel is tucked away off the main high street and is a good mix of old and contemporary decor. However for me personally, i like tea /coffee making facilities in a room along with an iron. We had a standard double room. It was clean and comfortable but very small. If you are not on a budget it is worth upgrading to a superior double for a better view and mo... Read more

We stayed at The Memmo as part of our honeymoon. We know Alfama well as my husband used to live a stone's throw from this lovely hotel - clean, crisp and well appointed rooms, a lovely bar / restaurant overlooking Alfama and friendly staff, we have already booked to come back for our anniversary!

This was our last stop on a 2 week trip around Portugal and it made us want to come back for another stay! Very modern, quiet and comfortable rooms and chic atmosphere overall. We upgraded our room for more space and had an open min bar which was a daily treat. The outdoor terrace area was beautiful for breakfast, generally relaxing and drinks. The pool was more of a plunge pool, but perfect for cooling off during the day. Staff were very attentive and friendly, the breakfast and drinks service ... Read more

Four of us stayed at Memmo Alfama Hotel for 3 nights in May. I found the hotel through TA, and booked it based on my general preferences of a moderate priced boutique hotel, preferably with a bar area, WiFi, and free breakfast. Not only did Memmo Alfama get great reviews from TA reviewers, it offered a free 2 hour walking tour of the Alfama area ( it as very informative and enjoyable) plus meeting my other preferences. Little did I know that the staff would be extremely helpful and accessible, t... Read more

This is a beautiful hotel situated in the historic neighbourhood of Alfama. It is clean and well decorated with a great buffet breakfast. I didn't see many kids around so this is probably best for couples. I wanted to try the pool and terrace, but it was raining. Knowledgeable staff.

This is a fantastic hotel in the most historic area of the city. Built over the town wall terraced in the side of a hill the views over Alfama and the Tagus are lovely. The rooms are modern and comfortable and the service is excellent. The rooftop terrace and pool are a spectacular place for breakfast in the morning and a cocktail in the evening. The 28 tram goes past the end of the lane and you can easily walk all over the central area of the city from the hotel.

Memo Alfama is a really nice boutique hotel in the old town (Alfama). It's location is great and the hotel has a terrace with bar and tiny pool with great views of old town and the harbour. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast (buffet and to order) is amazing and you can eat outside enjoying great views. I was a bit torn whether to rate it 4 or 5 stars because rooms are very small but I guess that's the price of staying in the old town. Tip - Some uber / taxi drivers struggle to... Read more

A very modern hotel with an amazing terrace at the roof top in the beautiful district of Alfama. Friendly staff, great drinks and view. You definitely have to check it out even if you are not a guest at the hotel. The Terrace is just perfect :) :)

This is definitely an amazing hotel in the Alfama district in Lisbon. Its super clean, modern and slick... The staff were very professional and attentive on arrival, and more than helpful and patient with our incessant questioning. The room we stayed in (42) was amazingly equipped, had a lovely walk in shower and beautiful amenities. The hotel has an amazing rooftop bar with decent drinks and a great tapas menu. Definitely an amazing hotel and one I would have no doubt in recommending to anyo... Read more

We had a great 3 nights here. It's in a great location with amazing views of Lisbon and the river. If you can book a superior room which are a bit bigger than the standard and have better views from there windows. The terrace can run out of space some times which is a shame but can't be helped. We left our hire car early at the airport so we didn't have to drive round Lisbon, it can be a bit of a night mare driving round the small narrow streets. We walked everywhere and found lots of little pla... Read more

Because of the reviews here we stayed three nights in Memmo Alfama in a room with terrace. The room itself was very small, just about 50 cm around the bed on three sides. Two active persons in there do require traffic rules. On the other side, the bathroom was large enough. Both were very clean and with a stylish, yet functional design. The breakfast was a standard breakfast buffet and ok. The first great plus of this hotel are the roof terraces, on which we spend much of our time. What a specta... Read more

My husband and I came here for 4 nights in early May. What a lovely hotel. Spotlessly clean and very modern. Great welcome when checking in and our room wasn't ready as we'd arrived early but were shown to the outside terrace where we had some wine and tapas! The rooms are small and well turned out and are very modern. It's situated up in the old part of town but easily accessible by tram or on foot if you like a walk. Great breakfasts and friendly staff. Fantastic views from the terrace. Rea... Read more

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The building is very quaint with plenty of nice places to sit. The only downside would be the room being a little on the small side and the fact the doors were a bit stiff/slow to open and close. A great selection at breakfast and tasty food served at the restaurant. Within walking distance of everything we wanted to go to

My daughter and I stayed 7 nights at the Memmo Alfama, and couldn't have been more pleased. We normally don't spend much time at hotels while traveling, but the Memmo Alfama was so inviting, and afforded such beautiful views, that we spent each afternoon relaxing by the pool, resting up for the evening activities. The staff were professional, welcoming, and very helpful. We ended up staying in a couple of different room types, and each one was charming, spotless, cleverly designed, and well ou... Read more

We really enjoyed this boutique hotel. Upon arrival at first it did seem a bit "cold" as rooms are all white with no art whatsover, however the place just grew on us. Location is excellent. Highlight for us by far was the incredible rooftop deck and shallow but long infinity pool. Views were outstanding. We spent a good hour or two each day up there soaking it all in after day of walking the streets. Amazing buffet breakfast as well which you can eat up at rooftop deck - great way to start any ... The most amazing hotel in Lisbon! Design, good food and wine- you've had it all. However, the staff in this hotel is absolutely amazing. It's a five star experience with kind, loving people around you. While five stars can sometimes be stiff (see Lebua in Bangkok) here it feels so much at ease in a top location! It's not like we haven't been to Lisbon before so we know how friendly the Portuguese are, but here we are reaching the most amazing standard.
