I travelled on a work trip in April 2016. The room was great and the staff really pleasant and helpful. Always had a smile and went out of their way to help. The hotel is on a main road but it very quiet. Being on a main road also means that it's really close to loads of restaurants and bars!

Well located hotel about 15 mins walk to the Baixa area. Excellent room, with very good quality linen and bedding. Good sound insulation ( the avenue is a bit noisy from traffic ) and very good showers. We were staying for three nights and found it an excellent hotel. Tea and coffee facilities in the room would have been icing on the cake, but not an issue. Would be very happy to stay at this hotel again.

Very good location, kind and helpful staff (especially Mr Luis), great choice for breakfast, clean hotel... We would choose this hotel again if we came to Lisbon. We have nothing to seriously complain about, maybe it would be better if the room cleaning didn't start too early (we like to sleep by 9am, so we don't get up early) - we heard the noise of vacuum-cleaner from nearby rooms and/or crunching wheels on chambermaid cleaning trolley. Anyway hotel is great and we rate it with 9.2 (on a scale... Read more

This hotel is centrally located on the Avenida de Liberdade. The rooms are big enough and very clean. It has a gym. You can open the window. But it is on a busy street and can be noisy. The shower was nice and strong and the bathroom has a magnifying mirror. The breakfast buffet is okay but not special.

This hotel is within walking distance of many of Lisbon's sights and very close to the Metro which makes everything easy. The room was very comfortable with a great bed and a great shower. It is located on a main street so street noise is an issue if the window is open; with the window closed, it is very quiet. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is ample and fresh. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

I was a solo traveller (over 60) and was a bit nervous. The hotel was more than I expected - I had a lovely room (big by European standards), the front desk staff were most helpful and spoke English (thank you Silvia), the breakfast each day was very good and the staff were so efficient and pleasant here. The location could not have been better - on the main metro line with easy access to key attractions, or if you are energetic you can walk all the way to the waterfront. Would definitely sta... This hotel was situated along the tree lined avenue between town (20mins) & the Hop-on-Hop-off main tourist bus stop (15mins) so was nicely situated. There were several restaurants within walking distance & also a few wee bars in the tree lined area itself. The bed was very comfortable and we had two chairs to sit and watch a large screen TV. The breakfast was great and it was just a short walk to the historic centre. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. We'd recommend staying here. We had a taxi to and from the airport and it only cost about 10 euros each time.

The location of the hotel was excellent. The rooms we got were two twin beds which were not particularly easy to sleep on. It is not clear why the hotel is a 4 star. There is no concierge support or coffee or teapot. The choice of soaps was odd. It seemed like the hotel supported large tour groups but not small families

Room and bathroom were spotless and of a reasonable size. We had some problems initially with the air conditioning but that was quickly sorted out. The quality and variety of food at breakfast was good. A Bonus point was the Metro stop DIRECTLY outside and it proved to be great value for the two days we were there. Reception were ver... The good part is the location, - Avenida da Liberdade, Metro station and restaurants close by. The hotel was clean. While the breakfast was good, the breakfast area is crammed and too small. Some people had to sit on tables in front of the elevators outside the breakfast room. They have a gimmick, a air freshener in the bathroom that if you happen to open it will cost you. I know that I have to pay for items from the refrigerator, but this hotel now starts selling stuff in the bathroom.

Quite and clean with very good beds and a good breakfast in a wonderful city. Metro line in front of the Hotel. Very well situated. The kindness of the personnel is a +. We will for sure stay again at this place is we come back to Lisbon. Very Happy.

The service was excellent, including breakfast. Metro is good and taxi is easy and inexpensive. Convenient to rental car agency and bank ATM. We loved going across the street to the kiosk in the park every evening. We would stay here again.

Stayed in September for 4 night business trip. hotel location is excellent, very central, nice neighbourhood with all the high street fashion stores, few steps from the metro station, also bus stop nearby with links to all over the city. Hotel is clean, like that the room floors are not carpeted. Bathroom is clean, free wifi, kettle but no tea or coffee (bring your own). One issue with my room, the window was looking to the backyard, no nice scene, make sure to ask for a room looking at the mai... Read more

We had 4 nights here in October, The rooms were good size , the beds twins were large and comforable, and bedding changed frequently. Bathroom with tub and shower good size. Rooms were very clean and tidy. The TV had a least 6 programmes in English BBC Entertainment, National Geographic and FOx (the last 2 with Portuguese sub titles. The usual news programmes CNN and BBC Worldwide also in English. The breakfasts are very good, The only bad point being that when we booked in the receptionist tri... Read more

Absolutely loved the room--it had personality and a real welcome feel to it. It is not a modern, drab hotel, but had great personality! Breakfast was very good as there were plenty of choices. Area it is located in was great.

We stayed here for four days in September, and it was a comfortable hotel to stay in. It is centrally located, and very close to a subway station (although one entrance, that is just steps away, is not open later in the evening and on week-ends). The staff are efficient (friendly is not a word I would apply), the breakfasts are tasty with much choice, and the rooms well appointed/the beds are comfortable. There are some very good restaurants in walking distance and the area is safe for walking a... Read more

The Marques De Pombal Hotel is walking distance to major shops and the old part of Lisbon. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts were great. We would recommend the Margues De Pombal Hotel to future travelers.

Less than 5 minute walk to the Subway station. Room faced the courtyard, and was super comfy with a firm bed. Couldn't hear city/traffic noise, but could hear planes taking off from the airport. Yummy hot breakfast. Downside is it is located in a quiet neighborhood, so restaurant variety was limited unless you walked 10+ mins.

This was our second stay in this hotel and we found that everything that was good a few years ago is still as good as then. Very clean nice and comfortable rooms, very friendly staff and a good value for money for a central hotel in a big city.

This was a nice place to stay for the short term. It was far from the main attractions and we needed to take the metro. The best part was the metro stop is very close to the hotel. The breakfast was ok. The service we received was ok. One of the front desk clerks who worked in the evening was rude and not friendly at all. It does have a nice bar area on the second floor, but the food wasn't the best. So I only suggest to have a drink and relax. Enjoy Portugal, the have great seafood t... Read more

We spent two days on a visit to Lisbon whilst holidaying in Portugal. We received a warm welcome with much helpful information offered with regard to making our way around Lisbon. We arrived early and as there was a room vacant and prepared, we were permitted to check in early. Our room was a little smaller than expected, but sufficient and beautifully clean and presented. The hotel noise levels were minimal despite the situation of a very busy thoroughfare with raid works! Lots of designer shop... Read more

Hotel is in a good location on the central spine leading down to the old centre and the sea. Lisbon is spread out so you need to be prepared to walk or take taxis. The hotel is very clean with all amenities in the room for a comfortable stay. Lifts are very fast, no waiting at all. Staff are friendly and helpful. We were able to book the open top sight seeing bus from reception. Breakfast offers a good variety of hot and cold foods. The hotel bar is a pleasant place to sit and snacks are availa... Read more

Very nice hotel. Modern and clean. I had a lovely quiet room facing the courtyard. High quality finishes in the room and bathroom. Was just missing tea and coffee facilities. Very good breakfast but only starts at 7am which is tricky if your a business traveler with early meetings, though they do layout coffee and croissants for the early birds. Great location.

Friendly, smallish hotel situated near shopping and cafes. Helpful staff and clean. Ask for a room away from traffic, as it is located on a busy street. Nice bar and restaurant in the hotel. Burgers in the bar were large and tasty, and the fries were freshy fried and crisp.

We really enjoyed our stay here in Lisbon, the room was clean and spacious, the location was safe, less than a 10 euro Uber ride from the airport and from the port, walking distance to the " old town" The included breakfast was perfect and quick. Best of all was the staff, incredibly helpful.

The best thing about this hotel is its location: located on popular shopping area, wonderful for wandering, absolutely safe even after midnight, a very short walk to metro station, near the Marques De Pombal square, local bus as well as hop-on hop-off yellow buses run through this street; it was simply unbelievably lucky that we picked this hotel for our stay in Lisbon. Since we has no WiFi arriving at Lisbon, we actually took the metro from Lisbon airport, change to another line, then practica... Read more

This is a lovely hotel, in a good location on an upmarket, tree-lined avenue. It is conveniently situated very close to the underground. The room, whilst not big, was good and modern. It took around 15 mins to walk to the heart of the city but was a pleasant stroll. We chose to walk down and taxi back after dinner in the evening.

This hotel was chosen for us as being convenient for a two night stay to see something of the city of Lisbon. Modern and clean with a very welcoming and helpful reception staff who went out of their way to help us. A good hearty breakfast and off to see the city. Ate in the hotel first night as the rain was tipping it down. Good restaurant, plenty choice and cheerful staff so good we decided to eat in again because the menu had changed. Full marks to the staff at this hotel: I arrived rather stressed on a last minute business trip standing in for my boss and they were really helpful. Portuguese hospitality is great- one of best in the world- people are smiling and always happy to help. The hotel is clean and pretty standard- but very well located centrally. Thank you for ironing my shirts in under an hour! That's my one feedback- rooms could do with an iron for business visitors. Breakfast was ok: lovely pastries and eggs. Coff... Read more

Really enjoyed the hotel in general, with it's clean lobby, rooms and friendly reception staff make it a pleasant experience. There is a restaurant within the hotel and the ambiance is good. We did not eat here as there are several other options close by. The hotel position is is on a hill (Not too steep) which leads down to the sea via a main route or alternatively the side streets which have an abundance of shops and cafes. I would definitely stay here again
