The hotel is relatively close to the airport and you really need a taxi to go everywhere as the roads in the surrounding area are busy - fortunately there are normally plenty available and by UK standards they are very cheap eg around ?10 for 15 mins. It is of the usual high standards you can expect from a global Marriott hotel. The bar area is nice (but pricey compared with the local bars) and has a nice outdoors balcony with plenty of shade if you need it. I would use again if in Lisbon.

Really nice 2 night stay for a business trip. The hotel was very clean and the staff were accommodating at every turn. The breakfast buffet is also excellent. The lobby bar is very active with good food and drinks. I would definitely stay here again.

One of the best hotels we've stayed in. The room was big clean and airy. The staff were outstanding, they couldn't do enough for you. The Marriott Lisbon is a big city hotel with all the amenities you would expect from Marriott. Big hotel pool, entertainment, restaurants, a big bar, business services, gift shop, etc. You get the idea. The folks here are particularly helpful. A full service first class hotel. There are taxis queued up outside 7/24. That is important because nothing is within walking distance: no restaurants, no shopping, not even public transportation. The Metro is a half mile away, all down hill. That means a half-mile up hill hike on the way back. If you are a tourist, recommend a hotel in the Rossio Square area.

I stayed here one night when thee were flight delays but despite a long queue at checkin I was dealt with very professionally . Nice high floor room as requested. breakfast was good, the bar service was great with nice food. I don't go to Lisbon often but would certainly stay here again.

Yes an international hotel chain and apart from the menu and occasional sign in Portuguese to be honest you could have been anywhere. Having said that, everything worked - staff were friendly most spoke good English as well and there were taxis queued at the front throughout the day and night. The room was OK, bed was OK too. Very comfortable rooms. In room amenities were good. We tried room service and it was very prompt. The concierge desk was very helpful. The bellboys did a great job. The front desk staff were polite end courteous. The highlight was the breakfast. What a phenomenal spread. Eggs cooked to order is wonderful. Overall excellent..! Will highly recommend.

Stayed for a business conference for two nights (conference was also at the hotel). The hotel is very close to airport, taxi is about ?10. Hotel is quite old, although reasonably clean inside. Not much else nearby, have to get a taxi to the centre of Lisbon to other restaurants etc.

I stayed in room 1503 so was high up. Was overlooking the city but was there on business so view not needed. Road noise was noticeable first night but I was soon used to it. The Marriott Lisbon has very comfortable rooms, a bit smaller than a typical American Marriott, but larger than a typical European hotel. All have desks with chair, task light and outlets to charge your electronics. The lobby is large and offers lots of areas to gather and to meet friends, or colleagues. The room was reasonably big for the city, clean & Quiet. We had access to the lounge so we saved a ton on the over priced pop and food. Booked an Exec room as the price seemed to behold, and checked in on the 14 th floor. View north was fantastic, could see the airport in the distance, two football stadiums, and life going by far below. My son who is a big football fan thought the view was amazing. Myself and a friend were looking for a long city break but also wanted to include some pool/beach time. This was the perfect hotel for us. This Marriott hotel is about 10 min drive from airport and 20 from old city. Rooms and very comfortable and quiet. Beds and pillows are excellent. The executive lounge is great! One of the best Marriott's lounges. Nice coffee! INTERNET is VERY SLOW! Hotel Restaurant is very poor. Service is weak and menu is poor. Avoid this restaurant.

Many of the previous reviews have touched on the staff but none have really done justice to them. From our checking in to our checking out, we were impressed with the attentiveness of each hotel associate. From arrival staff was very polite and friendly throughout our stay. Food at breakfast and dinner was very good. They even had big screen on in lobby for the European Championship. Our deluxe room was clean and tidy. Concierge staff were fantastic gave us advise as what was on in Lisbon. We would stay here again.

We stay at this hotel because it is adjacent to the Catholic University where my husband works for several weeks each year. We stayed our last night in Lisbon at this Marriott. My husband is a member so we figured we stay there. Our Room looked over to the building across so no privacy! The attendant seemed pre-occupied and not quite the reception you would receive from other Marriotts. We loved our stay in Portugal and loved Portuguese people. Too bad our last night was not very memorable.

Great room, clean and small balcony. Outdoor pool supplied towels. Breakfast was lovely with eggs done to order and a huge quality selection. Hotel out of the way to town, so require taxis. Close enough to transit, and the zoo. Prefer to stay right in town but I would stay at this hotel again.

Stayed here twice already. in both occasions the service was great, the front desk staff is always very helpful and attentive to our needs. The location is not great if you plan to visit the city on foot, but the city centre is less than 10 min away by taxi anyway. Its great location for business trips, since is very well connected.

Came for a long weekend to finish our vacation. The hotel is lovely and the pool area is a real bonus, however... 1. Some of the staff are comedic in their inability to get the order right or even remember the order. Again, not a biggie and actually quite funny. 2. The hotel itself is fine with ok facilities such as a reasonably equipped gym, pool and decent rooms. My main issue with it is the location: well out of the city with not many things to do nearby. It seems this hotel is mainly geared towards travelers that want to stay close to the airport rather than in the actual city.

The pool,while not typical Marriott resort level, is nice. Staff are helpful. Room was very nice. The big problem with this Marriott is that it is so far off beaten path you have to take taxis everywhere. We even tried to take the metro but you have to walk over a freeway overpass to get to the hotel. They do not offer shuttles of any kind to the downtown area nor to the metro. After almost a 20hr Journey to Lisbon All a person would like is a place to Decompress & Freshen Up. Unfortunately this Didn't Happen. The Check-In was Slow & Cumbersome. This is a typical Marriott hotel and has all of the amenities you would expect. The rooms are superb and the beds are wonderfully comfortable. The location is prime and I would definitely stay there again. The breakfast buffet is vast and very tasty.

I have stayed in many Marriott's and this one has the same lovely layout and rooms. Bed was lovely. The wifi is not strong enough in the rooms though which we rang and complained so if u want to do business work you will need to go to the lobby. As every Marriott I've stayed at, the beds were comfortable and has plenty of pillows. Wifi is good, but only free if you're a Rewards Member. Had a problem with the A/C, and it took three calls and 4 hours before the problem was fixed. Too slow of a service for my taste. This is a solid 3 stars hotel. The reason is that while many of the common areas seem to be updated, the rooms are old and smelly. The location is not great, as the hotel is located between two freeways. Downtown Lisbon is about a 10 minutes taxi ride. Taxis will charge about 7 EU for the ride. Amenities within the facility seems adequate. The food is great, although it becomes repetitive after a few days. I guess this hotel is good for business, to so much for exploring Lisboa.

Very nice staff! Extremely helpful and polite. Rooms are good but could use an update. Beds are as always, best in class. Wifi is very slow, not what I'm used to in Marriott. Business lounge is nice but too small. Overall a good and recommendable hotel. A taxi to the waterfront costs less than ?7,- so if you stay here to see the city, no problems at all

My wife and I stayed here for part of my 70th birthday celebration. Location is near the airport and not far from the city centre. Ideal! We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. At the Conciege, we found Nuno and Abdul very very charming and helpful. In the Excutive lounge, Rita and Marrieanne in the bar wonderfully professional and friendly. Breakfast has a lot of variety and rooms are clean and bed very comfortable. We would defiantly return here.

Good location. 10 min walk to metro. 20 min drive or 30 min on metro to airport. Great rooms, good service and great executive lounge breakfast and snacks. Close by driving to different sights by car and taxi but Lisbon is a big city and you need to be able to walk the metros or then hire a car. We did both.

Location is convenient to airport, which brings many of the flight crew to the hotel. Not close to the downtown area and not much within walking distance of hotel. The room was fine, decor slightly outdated. The air conditioning, when it did work made a terrible squeaking sound but the room quickly turned into an oven if I shut it off. Hopefully you won't need wifi if you stay here because it was so slow and painful to use.

I came to Lisbon to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately, I booked Marriott Hotel by chance. Although the reviews were not good, I still went ahead. It's about 10 minutes walk away from the nearest station. The hotel is outdated, old television set and ugly old bath. However, the room is reasonably clean. If you are looking for a hotel in Lisbon the Marriott is a option the staff is great and makes your staying great. The location is great and the price is competitive if you compare prices around the city. Lisbon is a great city and if you are looking for great restaurants I recommend you visit Barrio Alto there you will have a great selection of options.

Pretty dissent hotel with a few items in our room that shows a lack of upkeep (pics are attached). Nice lobby, courteous staff, good breakfast buffet. The internet in the lobby is free, but they make you pay 6.95 euros if you want to have it in your room. It's a shame. For the price of $159 a night, I would look for a better hotel in Lisbon on my next visit.

We stayed here two nights, one by choice and one because our flight was overbooked and airline put us there. Room was clean but bathroom needs work. Very rude experience with front desk. José, at front desk, needs some people skills and should not. be working in that capacity. Stone faced and rude to my husband. I thought their job was to make us feel welcome and help. Far from helpful. Another person we met at airport had a similar experience with him too. The restaurant staff were very nice.

We arrived and checked in with no issues. Immediately went to the top floor bar/food and balcony. Wonderful view of the south side of the city. The hotel was great. No complaints. We like the location - although it's a fairly long taxi ride to the city center. The food, people, and weather of Lisbon - simply fantastic. Highly recommend

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised to know Marriott Family can have smth more than just low level hotels. I stayed in many Marriott hotels around the Globe and let me tell you, this particular Marriott is great: staff, amenities, rooms and food. I guess the rest of the Marriott hotels must learn from this people how to make customers are happy and simply - be hotel. Keep it up.

I've been in Portugal over a week. One night at the Marriott before a long flight home. The pool area was a beautiful place to unwind at the end if a great vacation. It was sunny with palm trees and a bar area for refreshments.

Felt well looked after. Staff were polite and efficient. The only mistake was one night when they sent a new visitor to my room by mistake who rapped impatiently at the door asking me to open. When I rang reception I was advised to open the door and answer. However, I did not do so because of safety concerns. It was frightening and I rang back when the rapping stopped. Hope such a mistake does not happen again if I chose to go.

This is a perfectly nice Marriott, with Exec lounge, pool and reasonable restaurants. As a Marriott member I was given a welcome package of some food and a tube of port in my room. We stayed one week at the Marriot. Very nice hotel with a good location. Staff are helpful and friendly. Food is good. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Beds are super comfortable ??? Taxis are always available and so is the concierge. I do recommend.

Despite it being a little out of the centre of the city the Marriott has all the amenities you would want, it is near public transport and being that little bit away from the hustle and bustle means you can feel relaxed here. Great staff, will help you and try to make your stay special.

While the Marriott is located a little bit away from the historic city center, it is a wonderful place to stay. The staff was wonderful to my group as we were here for a conference. I would definitely stay here again when if my conference returns to Lisbon!

The hotel is situated in an area with absolutely no activity. The hotel is old and the rooms require refurbishment. The bathroom are outdated. The lobby and bar area are at level but once you go beyond you realise you are in a boring hotel.

My experience at the Marriott was mixed. Overall, it was a comfortable stay and I had no actual issues.The room (especially the bathroom) looks quite outdated but clean. The location is a bit far from the interesting areas of town and there isn't a lot to do nearby. I also found the Wi-Fi to be very sporadic - good Wi-Fi is a must in this day and age. On to the positives - I found all of the staff polite and helpful, and breakfast was fantastic every morning.

As a business traveler, I was using the Uber (US, Europr, Asia) and Lyft (US) without any issues until last week at the Lisbon Marriot Hotel. 1. Around 3 PM On September 14th, when my wife and I were picked up by Uber, I heard that a group of taxi drivers in front of the lobby door yelled at us. 2. Nice business hotel, well equipped, confortable bedrooms, wifi everywhere, bathroom a bit outdated. Not much to do in the area. Meeting room not really big enough for large group. This is a large business style hotel, and it reminded me of any 3* airport US Marriott elswhere. The common areas are beautiful, the breakfast was very good and the staff were all helpful. Feel this hotel is a bit of a mixed bag - in some areas it seems very good to me and in others I feel they clearly have room for improvement... I just stayed at the Lisbon Marriott, its close to Airport and close to metro station and zoo. The hotel is good, the staff is well educated, and the executive lounge and staff there are great. The pool was really busy over the weekend, the lobby can be crowded at night but all in all the stay was fine. The rooms are OK, well appointed, no major issues. Not may restaurants around the area so you will have to travel.

This was a 5 night stay with my husband on business. The rooms were great. It was airy and a very clean hotel. The food was good. There is a pool outside. Plenty of taxis outside if required and the taxis in Lisbon are relatively cheap. Recommended.

Nice hotel with spacious rooms and excellent beds. That is one of the important things I look for in a hotel. Service is friendly, super friendly! We returned by taxi without cash. ATM did not work and the staff member that welcomed us paid the cab for us! Of course we refunded him with interest but I don't think you will find this kind of service everywhere! Had a long weekend in Lisbon and stayed at the Marriott as the rates were very reasonable. Standards were good as you would expect from a Marriott hotel. The Concierge Desk was excellent and gave some great advice about things to do in Lisbon.

Tried to check-in waiting in the elite member line as normal, I was first ignored by the check-in staff, then bypassed so they can check-in other folks that came in after me. Let's do the positives first - only 10 minutes from the airport, nice pool, nice staff, huge dining room, easy to get a cab into town, balconies in each room. The hotel delivered everything that I thought I was committing to and more. As part of my executive room booking I also received the access to the executive lounge and all the refreshments, canapes, snacks and alcoholic drinks in the evening that were on complimentary offer so my wife and I were really pleased with this gesture. Nice, but worn hotel out side Lisbon. Too far from nearest metro, which necessitates taking a cab. Current events includes a taxi strike, which provided a challenge for today's events. Nice executive lounge which does serve an adequate breakfast, and some tasty tapas from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Hotel busy with conventions.

We found out a few days before our trip that this hotel was further from downtown than what we would of liked to, but considering it was practically free, we couldn't complain. Stayed at the Marriott for the 1st time for 3 nights whilst on business. Overall was very impressed and would definitely stay again. Check in was quick and efficient, room was a good size and very clean and in good condition. Service was very good and the on site gym was also pretty good for a hotel. I spent 2 nights there on a business trip and would not recommend this hotel. the room is ok, quite old-fashioned but comfortable. However the position of the hotel (too far from the center) and the fact that a highway is passing should make you think twice. Especially since in the middle in the night the highway seems to become a MotoGp circuit, and the windows are really to thin to cover any of the noise.

Large property with heavy traffic of travelers. Serivice is attentive. Some rooms have been remodeled; however, the main frames, etc. remain from years back. Executive lounge has good offerings, can get extremely noisy with the typical traveler that things he owns the property. The lounge can get crowded, it is not very large, Personnel is very attentive. WiFi is really bad, signal is extremely low.

I stayed here for one night while in Lisbon. This hotel is not at the center of the city. You need to take taxi or uber everywhere pretty much. Hotel itself is nice. little outdated but still ok to stay at. lobby and small store next to lobby is great. wine bottles for cheap and it is open 24hours for your needs. if i remember correctly, a bottle of portugese wine started from 5 euro or so. If you have uber app it is cheaper to take uber everywhere.

We paid for our room using Avios points so I don't know if this affected our experience. The lobby area and downstairs area are smart as you would expect of a Marriot but the room itself was dated with peeling paint and rotting wood in the bathroom. We stayed at this location four nights. Our first time in Portugal the staff where very helpful. We left our rent-a-car in the hotel garage and traveled the City by bus and taxi. The room was very clean with a nice surprise on arrival. The food and drinks in the lounge was also very nice.

This is a very nice hotel, with a great lounge area, nice bar with a terrace. Breakfast is very good, with hot food, fresh fruits, all in self-service, in a large guest restaurant with garden and pool view. Staff is nice and efficient. Rooms are excellent, amenities included shampoo and conditioner, body milk, a shower cap and hair dryer is good. The double bed is king size and sheets and pillows are soft, good quality. The mattress is a bit soft for my taste but it's very comfortable.

I am giving the Lisbon Marriott only 3 points because I was surprised and annoyed that when I arrived I discovered that my reservation did not include WiFi. And if I needed internet, I had to go to the main lobby. In this day and age, and particularly when I had traveled extensively in Portugal and found free WiFi in the most inexpensive places (hostels and the like), having to pay extra for wifi is a very outdated idea.

We had been traveling in Portugal for 2 weeks and stayed in interesting pousadas throughout the country. When we arrived early from Evora the hotel allowed us an early check-in before we had to leave the next morning at 2:30 am for an early flight home. The Lisbon Marriott hotel is about two miles from the airport and very close to both Benfica and Sporting Lisbon football stadiums. It is some way from the heart of old Lisbon. We flew into Lisbon for a 6 night stay, only one of which was at the Marriott as we travelling to cascais for the rest of the break away. We have been staying in this hotel off and on for the last year as my wife has been having surgery in Lisbon. The staff in this hotel are exceptional nothing is too much trouble, reception is slick and efficient, the corsierge got rid off the car and removed the cases before I had booked in !! Breakfast in the morning normal hotel food but a huge choice, something for everyone, dinner was disappointing, but very good service at the Tappas bar snack type food.

Very pleasant hotel with extremely courteous staff. Stunning lobby with extensive outside sitting area and a pool. Several shops, bar etc - can't fault it on this. Taxi rank just outside with a fare into town around 7-9 euros, 7-8 to the airport (airport to hotel 17 euros for some reason). For business travellers this is a nice hotel. Staff is extremely courteous and helpful. It is a short 10 min ride from the airport. But getting to the Bario Alto (old neighborhood) requires a 20-30 min car ride or 45 mins by public transportation. The conference facility is very good and the catering for business reception is excellent. Only downside is that despite the upper-midrange room prices, they charge for WiFi ! In this day and age!

The Lisbon Marriott, which is only a 15 min drive from the airport, looks old from the outside but inside the rooms are nice,the staff is courteous and helpful,there's a nice bar next to the lobby and the food was pretty good as well. The city center is not far away but use of a taxi or of the local transportation is needed (Zoo metro station is 10 min on foot)

Typical hotel room, nothing real special about this hotel. Pricing was higher due to the conference web Summit when we were in town. Location wise it was far from web Summit locations and we could not walk to the downtown area bar district or to the conference. The biggest annoyance was we were given access codes for "high speed" internet which was anything but high speed. It would crawl and never would fully work. We stayed here for 2 nights recently. The rooms and beds were very comfortable. The beds were high, big and firm. There was a nice bar where we could get tapas and drinks very easily. The hotel is also very close by to the Columbus Shopping Centre - about 5-6 euros by taxi one way. Breakfast spread was brilliant and service was friendly and good.

This hotel is not an Ideal Tourist Hotel as it is farther from the City and there is also no shuttle to the City-Centre unlike many other Marriott hotel in other European Cities though it is another case if you have a car of your own. Should fall in the lower tier of the Marriott chain of hotels considering the slow Wi-Fi, no consideration to elite status and located farther from the city. Also the hotel doesn't have a shuttle to city-centre or to the airport, both of which are just 5-6 kms away. There are couple of restaurants but always crowded and service not really quick.
