The hotel is relatively close to the airport and you really need a taxi to go everywhere as the roads in the surrounding area are busy - fortunately there are normally plenty available and by UK standards they are very cheap eg around ?10 for 15 mins. It is of the usual high standards you can expect from a global Marriott hotel. The bar area is nice (but pricey compared with the local bars) and has a nice outdoors balcony with plenty of shade if you need it. I would use again if in Lisbon.

Really nice 2 night stay for a business trip. The hotel was very clean and the staff were accommodating at every turn. The breakfast buffet is also excellent. The lobby bar is very active with good food and drinks. I would definitely stay here again.

One of the best hotels we've stayed in. The room was big clean and airy. The staff were outstanding, they couldn't do enough for you. They really took an interest on telling us about the hotel and all the facilities available which we found very helpful. What a bonus the swimming pool was. Everything looked new and the décor was beautiful. The restaurant staff were so helpful and seemed to be proud to work there. I actually felt like Julia Roberts in pretty woman. The Marriott Lisbon is a big city hotel with all the amenities you would expect from Marriott. Big hotel pool, entertainment, restaurants, a big bar, business services, gift shop, etc. You get the idea. There is a Concierge level if you are a Marriott Rewards member for light snacks and drinks. The buffet breakfast was excellent. Rooms were sizable with the best showers we had in Portugal and ours had a balcony overlooking the street. Staff was a little stuffy but helpful. The hotel is very clos... Read more

The folks here are particularly helpful. A full service first class hotel. There are taxis queued up outside 7/24. That is important because nothing is within walking distance: no restaurants, no shopping, not even public transportation. The Metro is a half mile away, all down hill. That means a half-mile up hill hike on the way back. If you are a tourist, recommend a hotel in the Rossio Square area.

Yes an international hotel chain and apart from the menu and occasional sign in Portuguese to be honest you could have been anywhere. Having said that, everything worked - staff were friendly most spoke good English as well and there were taxis queued at the front throughout the day and night. The room was OK, bed was OK too. I didn't have time to try the pool, but then the weather wasn't up to it either. Would I go back? Well, actually, probably I would...

First impressions: The lobby area is sparkling marble. Reception was pleasant. My room had the luxurious mattresses of upscale American hotels and an assortment of 4 pillows on the bed - so far, so good. The bathroom, however, was . The bathtub/shower location caused rotting of the door jamb and ceiling which was clearly lacking in attention. Another odd situation was the breakfast buffet. We stopped at this hotel in the morning to drop off our luggage before a day sightseeing tour. We tried to check in, but the lines were very long & only one person was going the check in. When we got to our room late in the afternoon, we found a pretty typical Marriott room--very clean & neat. We are Platinum Elite members so we had access to free wi-fi had access to the lounge. In the early evening the lounge has free wine & beer & very good appetizers. Breakfast in the lounge the next morning... Read more

The Marriott Lisbon has very comfortable rooms, a bit smaller than a typical American Marriott, but larger than a typical European hotel. All have desks with chair, task light and outlets to charge your electronics. The lobby is large and offers lots of areas to gather and to meet friends, or colleagues. We stayed at the Marriott in Lisbon for a scientific conference my husband attended at the hotel. Our room and three meals a day were paid for previously through the conference, however the hotel required a credit card on file when we checked in, as most hotels do, to cover incidentals. I write this as a Platinum Elite member of the Marriott's program. This was a last minute booking for one night as we switched from a more expensive property. The room was reasonably big for the city, clean & Quiet. We had access to the lounge so we saved a ton on the over priced pop and food. We stayed our last night in Lisbon at this Marriott. My husband is a member so we figured we stay there. Our Room looked over to the building across so no privacy! The hotel itself is fine with ok facilities such as a reasonably equipped gym, pool and decent rooms. My main issue with it is the location: well out of the city with not many things to do nearby. This is a solid 3 stars hotel. The reason is that while many of the common areas seem to be updated, the rooms are old and smelly. The location is not great, as the hotel is located between two freeways. Downtown Lisbon is about a 10 minutes taxi ride. Taxis will charge about 7 EU for the ride. Amenities within the facility seems adequate. The food is great, although it becomes repetitive after a few days. I guess this hotel is good for business, to so much for exploring Lisboa.

Close by driving to different sights by car and taxi but Lisbon is a big city and you need to be able to walk the metros or then hire a car. We did both.
