Our room was lovely at this convenient hotel on a quiet street. It was centrally located close to the avenida metro stop, great shopping and restaurants. Breakfast was quite a spread - even a chocolate fountain!!! The staff was so very helpful! The doorman even helped us solve a dispute with a taxi driver. The small coffee shop/bar had a tasty menu.

We stayed here for three nights as part of a conducted tour of Portugal. We were delighted by its location - easy walk to the sea, just off a gracious tree-lined avenue and within a few hundred yards of the Metro. The hotel itself was charming, comfortable and very well appointed. We enjoyed Lisbon and the hotel contributed significantly to that enjoyment.

this hotel is on a quiet street just off the main drag. it is like a business hotel from the 1970s. it is a great location in the center of the city, close to public transportation. the breakfast buffet was quite large and has everything imaginable. the staff were very helpful and engaging. hotel is clean.

Stayed 4 nights in May. First time in Lisbon. The HLP is a "classic" hotel, built in 1956. VERY well maintained and managed. It has an old-time feel to it and definitely appeals to an older crowd. We were happily upgraded to a suite on the top floor and LOVED our room. It was beautifully appointed. Windows opened to the hills behind. Quiet. Wifi was a bit dodgy but generally worked OK. Location was good --- just off Avenida de Liberdade --- almost everything is within a 20 minute walk. No need f... Read more

This hotel is very close to the main road into Lisbon, but being on a side road is very quiet. A short 5 minute walk takes you into the centre of the city. The bedrooms are well appointed, comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The bar area is particularly appealing, tastefully decorated, and the provision of free port or wine during the evening is a nice touch. Reception staff are very friendly, there is a sun terrace but no swimming pool. Breakfast is standard fare. I would definitely stay ... Read more

Location is good, behind the Sofitel Hotel in a quiet side street of the Avenida Liberdade, close to bus stops, the metro and walking distance to the older parts of Lisbon. No tea/coffee facilities and no lunch or dinner in the restaurant were breakfast is served. A small area at the bar where snacks are offered but we did not use this. We were given room 612 on the top floor next to an elevator which was noisy but not enough to stop us sleeping after walking all day. However, ask for a room not... Read more

Great 3 night stay, in this lovely boutique hotel in central Lisbon. Off the main street, on a quieter side street, the hotel is perfectly located for a short 10 minute walk to the main sites and restaurants of Lisbon. Old, classic style, with lovely quaint reception area and hotel bar. Kind and informative staff, this is a lovely hotel for a short stay at a reasonable price. Room clean and comfortable. Very happy with our stay here.

The hotel is centrally located close to Rossio on a quiet street behind Av Liberdade. Nice entrance and lobby with beautiful Classic furniture. Rooms are small and appointed like back in the 80's. It might do for a budget weekend, but do Not expect anything else

Stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. Lovely atmosphere in this hotel and the staff were so pleasant and helpful. There were some nice little touches such as free port in the evenings and free tea, coffee and fruit infused water which you could help yourself to at any time of day. Lovely breakfast. Very homely feel. Really well situated for shops and restaurants. Would love to go back again.

It wasn't a particularly warm welcome from the man on the desk on the Monday evening but the people on the front desk over the next few days were all lovely..The room was fine , we'd upgraded from the basic , but not at all characterful.. The Hotel Lisboa Plaza is a nice smallish hotel just off the main avenue. It's very central but quite quiet in the evenings. We stayed as part of an organised tour and eat out each evening. There are plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. Breakfast was adequate without being too special. The public areas are comfortable with a pleasant bar for drinks or snacks. Our room was spotless with a good bathroom. The only disappointment was the lack of any view from the window.

We stayed here in a large group. The room (120) was comfortable with a nice bath and situated on the back street just off the main road. Had good quality sleep as very little noise. It was handy for many restaurants and a short walk downhill to the main square. The breakfast was buffet style and mainly continental. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Really lovely hotel, very centrally located within 2kms of praca de commercio. The interiors are tastefully done, Rooms are quite large, Only downside is that this hotel does not have a restaurant believe it or not. So you need to go out but plenty of places nearby. The Breakfast was amazing to say the least, it had sardines, chocolate fondue, Portuguese pastries & numerous sweet treats, would pay anything to have such a breakfast. The hotel also has decent free port wine on offer.

Located on a tiny side street your taxi driver might not know, just tell him it is near Metro Venida. Around the corner from the hotel is the famous Av Liberdade with its upscale restaurants, sidewalk cafes, and small boutiques. This is not a steel and glass skyscraper but a period building with a beautiful interior. Rooms are very clean. Staff is super--helpful and friendly. The staff were very friendly and helpful; from recommending places to eat to helping me get into my locked suitcase! The breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately, no restaurant - the bar served a limited menu in the evenings but you wouldn't want to use that too often. However we loved the bowl of apples, and the free port.
