Never having visited Lisbon before, we were a little indecisive about where to stay. However, having read about the Internacional Design Hotel on Trip Advisor we decided to take the advice of previous visitors and we were pleased that we did so. Location, location, location says it all and it really could not have been better for us as it is right in the heart of the city, just a few moments walk from the river and in the midst of great squares with wonderful bars and restaurants, ideal f... The location is in the middle of Lisbon downtown, you can go anywhere from there by walking or take the metro line (Rossio station) 1 minute from there. The staff was always very helpful, respectful and kind, ready to help all the time, even at the reception or at the breakfast room. They also have a real nice restaurant (in the same place where they have breakfast during the morning), with very good options of food and wine. The staff of the restaurant is also very nice and the price is fair: a... Read more

Really nice hotel in the perfect spot in the centre of town. Really in the middle of where the action is. A refreshing take on hip hotels with many quirky features. Excellent and friendly service with fantastic rooms, modern furniture and free wifi. If you arrive by car, park under the public square across from the hotel. The hotel will arrange for good parking rates

Well situated close to Rossio Metro and all town center amenities. Very clean and interesting design with each floor being differently themed. Always something of interest to see throughout the hotel. Very courteous and friendly staff and a very nice restaurant that has a good selection of meals at a reasonable price

Recently stayed for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Arrived early afternoon and luggage was brought up to our room once it was ready - in the mean time enjoyed a free welcome drink in the bar (red/white wine). Room was not huge but definitely big enough for the 2 of us plus luggage. Small balcony which overlooked the street and Rossio square, perfect for checking the weather every morning! This is a very contemporary, centrally located, boutique hotel in Rossio Square. There is lots to see and do in the neighborhood, and much within walking distance. Each floor has its own theme. We stayed on the Zen floor--serene, lovely, spare small rooms. Only complaint is that the bathroom has little shelf space, and the shower faucets are hard to figure out (though the shower itself is good). The staff is lovely, helpful, warm and English speaking. We would absolutely stay here again!

International Design Hotel is modernized art deco hotel in very center of Lisbon on the main praca. All the major sites, except Belem, were in short, but very steep, walking distance. The staff were extraordinarily helpful in making excellent recommendations on what to do, what to see and where to eat. The room was large, modern, and comfortable but the view was not much to look at but then who looks out the window when there is so much to do. The only very slight complaint was that the welc... We stayed at this hotel for four nights to celebrate a birthday. The location, just off Rossio Square, is excellent. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops around and a great sense of bustle and energy. We had an externally facing room and spent many a happy hour looking out from our little (juliet style) balcony. Whoever conceived of the hotel thought a lot about ambience: it's funky and modern, with friendly staff and a nice, bright bar and restaurant area (which had excellent food,... Read more

However, the rooms are very small, although efficient and very clean, but you shouldn't go there with 2 middlesize suitcases. You don't manage to open them both at the same time. Easy check in with really friendly staff. Our room was quite small but that's quite standard in a boutique hotel. And we could easily fit two in there. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of options to chose from. The hotel is centrally located close to many restaurants, the subway and the Rossio square. You could also walk to Barrio Alto and Cais do Sodre if you wanted to. Just remember that the way to Barrio Alto is quite steep.

Service was good, especially by the staff Subass, who helped us to carry two big luggages and grabbed a taxi for us during our leaving.

The hotel is in a superb position on the square ,just a short walk to plenty of restaurants ,trams, the railway station and all attractions. The rooms are small but very functional and comfortable and as you are not in your room much that's fine. There was a selection of cereals, juices ,fruit etc. for breakfast with omelettes cooked with your choice of ingredients and the usual toast and jams and coffee/tea. Staff are all very friendly and helpful and the hotel is kept spotless.

We stayed for 2 nights at this property because it is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. I'm not sure how this happened, because the hotel is small, but it is not luxurious. TO start: the room was in need of redoing. The floors were scratched had black marks from luggage. The decorative throw pillows on the bed were worn and flattened (I honestly didn't want to touch them). The bathroom was tiny, with limited storage for make-up and toiletry bags. A small closet held a saf... Read more

The hotel is in the center of everything. Hotel staffs are very friendly and super helpful. Breakfast is very good. Love the view overlooking the square. I stayed there for a week and felt sad when I left. I will definitely stay there again in my future visit to Lisbon. Miss you guys! Two thumbs up!!!

The hotel is in the center of Lisboa center...situation to visit the town is excellent. Staff speaks several languages and are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are ok, sober and could be a little more spacious for the price but the only thing missing is a few extra power plugs. Free coffee and water. Minibar and minivault. There is a very good restaurant, Bastardo on the 1st floor. I recommend.

I loved everything with this hotel. The design concept is original and hip, the location is perfect for sightseeing in Lissabon and surroundings, staff is just great, especially Frederik on front desk. We have been operated to the better room one got free welcome drinks. Breakfast in restaurant Bastardo is highly recommended - like everything else it was top quality! Highly recommend!

Expectations were high, that's probably why when entering our room we were so disappointed. Very dark and tiny. Absolutely no value for money. When having a cocktail at the bar sat the first floor I asked for some peanuts, the barman looked at me as I was asking somthing weird. Of course quite rudely he said they have no peanuts. This hotel maybe Design ( and even.....) but certainly not international.

This hotel is in a great location for visiting Lisbon. It is a very individual style hotel and will appeal to all types and ages of traveller. The staff were excellent when we stayed there in May 2016. Would have liked a bit more choice on the restaurant menu, particularly for vegetarian options, but food was very good. If you want to be in an old part of the city, close to river, lots of transport close by and loads of entertainment this is a great choice. Just be aware that the rooms are quite... Read more

Spent 2 nights in this lovely hotel which included a delicious breakfast. Decor is simple but elegant, staff was helpful, beds were cozy and comfortable, the atmosphere was subdued and quiet at night although there's a restaurant in the facility. Hotel is right in the heart of city-perfect location.

We loved this hotel. The location was ideal, super friendly staff, wonderful buffet breakfasts. Rooms were quaint, very clean and the beds were wonderful. We would definitely stay there again. We didn't eat at the restaurant except for breakfast.

When our taxi took us to this hotel, straight off the airplane, we were dazzled (and we're jaded New Yorkers!) The location is right on a central, magnificent plaza with main promenades radiating outward, lined with cafes, shops and attractions within strolling distance. The hotel is a boutique jewel, the staff helpful and pleasantly informal. We felt very lucky to have chosen this hotel, which truly added to our enjoyment of the area.

Super friendly check-in (the receptionist met us at taxi stand). Free welcome drink in the hotel bar/restaurant. Because of wheelchair, we were upgraded to bigger room for no extra charge. The room itself (on the ZEN floor) had a balcony (super small though). The bed was super comfortable and the wallpaper had a nice floral pattern. And one of the best features: The room had a Nespresso machine with 3 capsules refilled every day. We did not try the breakfast at hotel, but the street outside was ... Read more

A friend and I spent 3 nights in June. We were a bit concerned about noise level as it is very centrally located. We needn't have worried. We had a room to the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. Check in was friendly and quick, our room very nice and roomy, with safe, espresso machine, flat screen, good wifi, the works. Bathroom also modern, nice fluffy towels. Good -and generous- buffet breakfast! I even forgot one day a credit card and found it in the evening sitting on the night table,... Read more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel last week for a city break. The position could not have been better. We were on the third floor and from our window you could see the two nearby central squares. The squares give access to all the transport you will need to get around. Restaurants and shops are literally round the corner. A short walk will take you to the river. Yet for all this, inside the hotel at night it was peaceful and quiet. For breakfast we were spoilt for choice, hot or cold, healthy... Read more
