The location is good, close to the Marques the Pombal roundabout. Having said that I must say that the hotel is next to a construction site it is very loud. The service is average, the cleaning crew starts working at 08:00 and they make a lot of noise (vacuuming in front of your door and having loud conversations).

The hotel is located on the slope, so you have to walk uphill from the Metro station and its a long walk. Its very exhausting walking uphill with your luggage. Its cheap compare to the other hotels around it. The hotel is old, with narrow corridor and small room. Carpet is really worn and old furniture. The breakfast is ok considering its price and level. In room AC is weak, we have to open the door of the balcony to sleep. There is almost no restaurants around the hotel (I only see 1) and so do... Read more

My wife and I were in Lisbon to attend a University Conference. We Stayed nights at the Diplomatico Hotel from 1st to 4th December 2015 on a Bed and Breakfast basis. The ensuite bedroom was clean, well equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed the excellent self-service buffet breakfast . The receptionists spoke good English and recommended an excellent local restaurant for dinner. Everyone was most pleasant and helpful. We greatly enjoyed our stay there.

Our stay here was really pleasant. Space was really enough for 3 person; actually it was 1 small room in entrance and 1 big room. Furniture little bit old, but room very clean and cozy. In centre of the city, close to merto station. Only thing, that ventilation in bathroom wasn't good, when somebody was taking shower, there was no air to breathe. Coming back tired in the evening, we felt like home. What else can you wish from hotel?

Good, polite people at the reception to welcome us. were very helpful in guiding us for information around the city. Breakfast was ok for the price, House keeping staff was good to clean the rooms everyday. Connectivity to the hotel from airport and city centre as well as the city sightseeing buses were quite near.

first impression was very bad, but the staff offered us a solution. The hotel is really old, and I do believe it was great, but like 15 years ago... a lot of work there is needed to earn 4 star. Went for a breakfast only one morning, it was excellent.

The hotel maybe had 4 stars in the 1970s, but they did not renovate much since. The good thing is the breakfast, they have a self-serving buffet with lots of options. The bad thing was the general aspect (carpets with coffee stains, old furniture, slow and small elevators). Wi-fi was ok. A little bit overpriced for the quality. Location is good, near the Marquis de Pombal park.

You get what you pay for in life. If you want a 5 star, luxury hotel, don't book here. If you can see past the tiredness of the hotel, book it. The key for me is the location and this hotel is perfect. An easy walk into the city centre and an even easier walk to Baria Alto, about 15 minutes. You are 2 minutes away from the Metro station at Pombal and the terminus for the Hop On Hop Off buses. A taxi was just short of 30euros from the airport but the train/Metro is a better bet. OK, the decor is... Read more

This is a cheap but very well located hotel for a short stay. It is rather tired, but the bathroom was clean and the aircon worked, but the carpets and geenral decor was not great and not 4*. However - it is really convenient for the metro (put it is up hill from Marquês de Pombal) and you can walk into the centre of Lisbon very easily. My room had a view of sorts - I could see the sea - and a balcony. Don't be put off staying here as it is perfectly reasonable but it is a 3* hotel and the pric... Read more

For what we paid and being able to book at such short notice following an air strike we really couldn't complain. The rooms were massive and had good facilities, however it was rather dated. The bed was really comfortable and allowed me to get a great nights sleep. The staff seemed a little formal, as if to suggest the hotel was a bit posh for ourselves but otherwise no complaints. It fulfilled our requirements in our hour of need.

This hotel is in a good location (near the Ritz) in Lisbon unless you want to get the airport bus and are dragging suitcases in which case it is a bit of an uphill climb over very uneven Portuguese stone pavements that kill your suitcase wheels. The hotel is within about 10-15 mins walking distance from the old historic centre of Lisbon. The hotel is a bit old-fashioned and could do with some modernising, but this would probably push the price up, so not necessarily a good thing. Staff were frie... Read more

This hotel is situated beside the hertz rental office where we dropped off our car. We stayed one night and caught taxi to the airport in the morning. I had read reviews that advised the hotel was older, and it was, so was not too surprised. Bathroom was brightly lit, which I appreciated and the shower had good pressure and lots of hot water. Bed was comfortable and it was the first time in two weeks I watched tv in English. We had a drink of gin and tonic in the lobby bar, and they were excelle... Read more

I m part of a tour group from Singapore and getting a room in the evenings are always a welcome relief for the tired tourists. A great reception from the front desk as they helped my tour leader sort the rooms very quickly so we could all rest well. we had 2 days to stay here and we tried to make the best out of it. the rooms were alright , pretty dated with the decor but clean sheets and clean toilets with adequate facilities and amenities. Pity there was no kettle in my room to boil water in t... Read more
