My favorite hotel so far in Europe, they deserve every 5 star review! The staff are extremely nice and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and are always offering advice/local tips. At check in they helped us map out a trip to the Algarve and gave a lot of great suggestions that ended up being our favorite stops! Easy to walk to nearby sights or take the tram to Alfama and walk back down. The view for breakfast is an incredible as everyone says...but you can also have d... Read more

Spent 3 nights in this great hotel. Located in the Santa Catarina neighborhood just below the Barrio Alto area, it was super convenient for night life and restaurants. Also near a metro stop coming from the airport--a little confusing getting there the first time, but super easy after you do it once. Katarina supplied great info upon our arrival-----with a well detailed map and local suggestions. The Time Out market is right down the hill and made an excellent stop for late dinner( and honestl... This is a great hotel in a good location with lovely views across the river. The roof top restaurant serves great tapas and wine with brilliant views. The staff are very helpful and take a lot of time to ensure that you get the most out of your stay. Being housed in a former perfume factory the rooms are quirky and have had to work hard to get great hotel facilities in small spaces. The breakfast is very good but avoid the cooked eggs, they take ages and the quality is variable. Would definitely... Read more

We stayed here 1 night after arriving from the US. Lovely location with easy access to the mercado and other sights in Lisbon. The staff were very responsive via email--and very helpful once we arrived-obrigado Miguel! If you are staying for more than 1 night and have lots of luggage, I'd recommend going with a larger room--as other reviewers have noted, the unique room layout can be quirky. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a perfect way to start the day! I'd recommend taking their offe... Read more

We booked this hotel on the basis of "a room with a view". However the room we were allocated (C2) was on the lower ground floor and the view we had was only glimpsed between concrete walls and roofs. The room itself was O.K though very small and the shower room very cramped. Not really worth the money. On the plus side all the staff were lovely and very helpful Also: 1) We arrived at 12:00 but could not check-in till 15:00 and there was nowhere to change out of our travelling clothes which left ... The best about this hotel is it's location. Centrally located in the heart of Lisbon, it won't be any better. The view from the room and the roof terrace is just breathtaking. The service is good, although not the fastest I have experienced. Rooms are ok, but this is not the modern business hotel that I usually stay at. It is very romantic, though. We would like to stay here again if ever back in Lisbon. The beds were very good.

We stayed two nights and found the location to be very well situated for exploring Lisbon. Our room was very nice and the breakfast on the terrace was wonderful with eggs made to order, an assortment of cheeses and meats, yogurt, crepes and fresh fruit. The view from the terrace was a bonus. Staff were extremely helpful and even made our train reservations for us as we continued to visit Portugal. Loved it!

Really enjoyed our stay at Monte Belvedere. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and looked after throughout the stay. The hotel is perfectly located for all around city exploring. We had previously stayed in some of the bigger hotels on Ave da Liberdade but have to say, we preferred the boutique hotel experience of Monte Belvedere. The service was much more personal and genuinely friendly. The rooms and comfortable and spotless. Excellent food and service at the terrace restaurant accomp... Read more

My boyfriend and I stayed in Monte Belvedere for a long weekend in Lisbon and this was the best decision we could have made! This small and private hotel is lovely! We enjoyed the beautiful roof top terrace, the nice breakfast and the super friendly and helpful staff very much! Will come again when in Lisbon and can definitely recommend! Thank you for everything, dear Monte Belvedere team!

Just like a lot of reviews have said, the rooms in Europe (Portugal included) seem to be smaller than we are used to the USA. Other than that, we could not have had a better experience. The staff were beyond accommodating and friendly. The room itself was great and it was very clean. The rooftop deck was a great addition with spectacular views. It was slightly loud at times, I imagine thinner walls, but even as light sleepers it was not an issue. Would absolutely return. It seems to be on a smal... Read more

I honestly don't know what I can add that has not already been said in the other excellent reviews! But, I will tell you that the building is an old perfume that's kind of cool. The staff is exceptional and will bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. Staffer Nadia told me on several occasions, "If you are happy, I am happy." There also is a cool bar next door with similar breathtaking views. I highly recommend this gem of a boutique hotel!

Based on tripadvisor reviews, we selected this hotel for a one night respite on our way back to the states. Very good choice. The rooms were European small, the bathrooms were very modern (a pleasant surprise) and the breakfast on the rooftop restaurant was excellent - a buffet with eggs cooked to order included in the room price. The view of the river made for a very nice breakfast atmosphere. The restaurant's dinner reputation is so good we could not get a reservation for the one night that... Read more

Start with the positives! Good location, friendly staff, great views. Otherwise the hotel is just one more in a chain. The room was clean, but the bedlinen didn't fit properly. Breakfast was the most disappointing thing - terrible coffee, looked like the buffet had been there since the day before and we weren't offered any freshly cooked eggs like a previous reviewer. We didn't bother the second morning, went out and found delicious breakfast for under 10euros. Cheap cost cutting by a chain. Th... Read more

This is an excellent hotel which defies its 2 star status. Very nice bedrooms and rooftop restaurant that doubles for breakfast in the morning and tapas location at night but with a fabulous view over the River Tejus. Tapas incidentally are excellent and the atmosphere was really nice. Staff extremely helpful and very keen to impart their extensive knowledge of Lisbon. A real find.

The hotel is in the centre of Lisbon and close walking distance to so many bars, restaurants, shops, and the River Tagus. The staff were very friendly and informative, however they aren't always around. We needed to check out at 7:30am and no one was there no one there so we had to leave the key with the restaurant. When walking out of the hotel for the first time there are two options: to walk down or to walk up. If the aim is to walk into town one should walk up passing the terrace with the great view over the Tagus. But there is reward walking in the other direction too. We found a jewel of an art studio/exhibit space just down the slope. The exhibit we saw was that of a very good Porto artist. When we arrived around 10 am the front desk was unmanned/unwomaned. While walking around Lisbon we found this place right off the beach in a hotel. Went up to the top deck and there was a small restaurant.
