We found this hotel very satisfactory. Was offered an upgrade to a very good club room with excellent view. Good executive lounge, even though it was temporary place during renovation. Impeccable staff service. Good location right across the Park, within walking distance to Gulbenkian Museum and away from the tourist crowd. As the taxi was very cheap, there was no issue for us to get to Baixa, Bario Alto. One afternoon, we took a stroll down to Rossio - very pleasant walk down Av da Liberdad, L... Read more

Got assigned a room with tiny tiny window, shower knob was loose and required fixing, safety box malfunction daily for three (then requested room change), tv cable was loose require fixing (minor)... it's right across the street from the Eduardo VII Park and close enough to the Marques de Pombal Square as well as the luxurious Avenida da Liberdade; continue to follow this avenue (pretty with lots of trees, gorgeous cobble stoned patterned walk ways and you will wind up at the Praca do Comercio square near the Tagus River). The subway is only a couple of minutes away and also a good choice; cabs are cheap. I stayed with several friends at this hotel as it was recommended by the cruise line (Winstar); It has some of the best customer service I have ever experienced in a hotel! The pros : location close to city center, if you're ready to walk a little bit and also close to a park The cons : overall hotel is needing a serious renovation. For example there are quite low ceiling in corridors, making them dark and not very nice. Also low level of shower head in bath (arguably I'm quite tall). There was no separate shower in the room (even in a suite). Got upgraded to a "duplex" suite but the bedroom upstairs was really small. Despite the floor high up in the building, I... Read more

You stay at an Intercontinental which I admit is not the Ritz which is next door, you expect better than average. Our room was not ready by mid afternoon and then after being told it was ready, we find out it there is only one bed for two and not beds for three as requested and confirmed months earlier. One of two business computers did not work, nor did the printer. The staff said they were aware of these issues however why weren't they immediately fixed?

Expect a business style hotel. Room and bathroom are just good, no surprises. It could be any average room anywhere. Try to upgrade your room to get access to the lounge. They serve really good stuff there like Tattinger and fine wines. Really worth it. The location is good. Overall, all good.

For a cool drink bathed in cool colours, try the Up Town bar in this five-star hotel. It's centrally situated and overlooks a park. But it's inside in the evening when it looks its best. Lisbon's Intercontinental is very pleasant although I'm sure IHG would agree its ripe for updating. The quality of service, room comfort and stunning views still make for a great experience though. Clearly more designed for business travellers, it is actually very heavily used by tourists, particularly people on city breaks. The decor is modern and stylish. One elevator was out of service, may be the same one that had problems during our last stay. This hotel is in a perfect location, just adjacent to the large public park where all the hop-on, hop-off buses do their transfers. It's a very scenic 30 minute walk st... Read more

The hotel was clean and comfortable in a safe location in Lisbon. The issues we had were: 1. I had asked for a converter for my room, but waited nearly an hour and a half before I received one after many unanswered phone calls to housekeeping, the concierge, and the front desk. I even went down to the desk myself for help. 2. The elevators were very slow and it took forever to get down from the top floors. We walked down the fire stairs a few times. 3. The chair in our room was tired loo... Read more

Stayed for several nights prior to our Windstar cruise. We were very impressed with the professionalism of the staff and their level of service. The concierges were especially nice. Great breakfast in the morning. Room is very spacious, modern and free internet is a definite plus. Had dinner there one night. Service was a bit slow but the octopus was delicious. We upgraded to the club lounge for a night. Didn't feel that was worth the additional expense. I've experienced better one... Read more

I stayed 3 nights at the IC Lisbon. It is well positioned a few minutes from a metro and about 20 minutes walk into the city centre. Breakfasts were excellent, a wide choice of hot and cold food. The room was of a good size and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable. Wi-Fi was good and the staff helpful and friendly. The only concern I had is that it appears to be OK to house dogs in the rooms. Hopefully they are dedicated rooms and people cannot inadvertently end up in a room previously... Read more

I was fortunate enough to stay at this hotel for two days for business and was very impressed by the whole hotel. My room was lovely and big with a very large extremely comfy bed - I really wanted to stay there all day! There was a lovely view towards the sea and a good seating area. The bathroom was of a good size with a brilliant shower over a bath and a good range of toiletries. I was annoyed with myself for forgetting my adaptor plug but found there was a device on the desk for connecting al... Read more

The InterContinental Lisbon is centrally located yet hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The rooms are very modern and well presented, however the facilities across the hotel in general require refurbishment. The room service is excellent but expensive. Overall, a very positive experience.

As usual with Tripadvisor, I had read a number of mixed reviews about this hotel. We found that the negative comments that were posted were not the case; at least during our visit. The front desk staff could not have been nicer and more accommodating. Our room was reasonably spacious and very clean. The view--who cares--not the greatest but certainly not the worst, and by the way, who goes to Lisbon to sit in a hotel room and look out of the window? There are numerous complaints on this site... Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. This hotel is in walking distance of the river (many of the rooms have a nice river view). Quick walk to central business district and mall. Out the door and 1 block to shopping, restaurants and the historic old town. Nice complimentary breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. 10 minutes from the airport.

This is a very good 5 star hotel and there is little to complain about it. The rooms are good although quite limited for wardrobe and drawer space for a hotel at this level. I had to leave some things in my case as there just wasn't enough room to hang everything up. Breakfast, included in my rate, was very good - good quality and wide choice - and the overall hotel facilities were very good. The worst aspect is location - although quite convenient for the metro, it is not really close ... Read more

Although many rooms still show the Meridien deco, this hotel blends in well with the InterContinental brand. Classic business with first class service. Location is fine, near the Avenida Liberdade. On the hill, making the climb back a bit of an effort. But therefore, some of the best views over Lisbon are on offer from the higher floors of the hotel. If you do not want the climb up, just take a taxi. It will not exceed Euro 5,00 from the Avenida. We were upgraded (Platinum member) to club floo... Read more

This hotel was picked by Windstar Cruises for the end of a cruise and I wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel had beautiful very modern public spaces and our room was large lovely and well appointed. The staff were very helpful and well informed particularly about arranging transport. We dined in their open lobby restaurant the one night we were there and both the food and service were creat.

While next door to the Ritz, the Intercontinental can hold its own in this neighborhood. I found the waitstaff at the restaurant to be excellent with me as a solo diner but found the breakfast staff wanting. The ceiling of the bar is amazing and do not look at it if you have imbibed too much. It is a moving animated abstract of several colors and shapes. I found my room comfortable and had a decent view. I am familiar with this chain of hotels and always find them comfortable.

The hotel rooms are modern and very comfortable, wide range of TV channels. It is a 5 min walk to a nearby Metro station. Really good breakfast and the staff are very friendly and give goods tips as to things to see and do in Lisbon. I would definitely come back to this hotel.

Overall the hotel is clean and seems modern. The room was well appointed and maid service was excellent. Downside is an incredible limited number of working elevators. This became a huge problem during the day compounded by the fact that sometimes the elevators failed. Disappointed in the breakfast. No readily available omelettes or fried eggs. Just soupy scrambled eggs. I was told by people that dined here in the evening the food was pretty good. The bar seemed nice and they did have entert... Read more

I won't go into too much detail as this has already been done on the IHG site but all I can say is that this is one of the best hotel stays I have ever experienced. Very welcoming hotel in a lovely area next to a small park. Bedroom terrific -beautiful decor, comfortable bed and splendid view looking West towards the old town and the Atlantic. Good bathroom. Free wi fi. Restaurant good with excellent breakfast. Only 10-15 minutes from the airport by taxi. Only problem was the lifts-only 2 for this hotel as one was completely out of commission. Conference facilities excellent. About 40 minutes walk (very pleasant) from the Old Town.

Stayed in a club room for the weekend. Spectacular views of the skyline and the river. Amazing sunrise scene from the room. Had breakfast in the lounge. Highly recommended. Good service, not very noisy and excellent prepare with eggs to order etc. In the lounge you could also enjoy before dinner snacks and drinks including Tattinger Champagne. Go here, you will not be disappointed. The only drawback is the lack of a nice outdoor pool area but how often do we need that....

Lisbon is a city undertransformation. Intercontinental gives you the chance to stay in a known place with staff always ready to assist you in anything you can need. I have mixed feelings about this hotel. Some aspects are good, some not so. A few maintenance issues> Their elevator system is broken. Extremely long waits, elevators sometimes stop at every floor. The light bulbs in the both reading lights were missing, it was too dark. No power outlets next to bed and not enough enywhere else for phone, Notebook etc. Some staff was excellent (front desk, concierge, bell service), some was unprofessional (waiters) and rude (some of the attendants in the club ... Very happy with the room and service - typical high standards for ICs. Seems that Ambassador did not get me any better upgrade than a Plat. The biggest issue (and a significant one - hence the 3-star review) is the elevator issue. I would not stay here again unless that was rectified. We wasted almost 90 minutes of our day trying to negotiate several trips up and down from our 17th floor room to the lobby to coordinate arrangements for a self-guided tour. Another irritation is the absolutely... Read more

The rooms was actually quite spacious and nice. Good amenities. The main problem with this hotel is the elevators were not functioning properly during our stay. They would get one repaired and then the next one would go out. Makes it very difficult when a large group has to all leave at the same time or go to breakfast at the same time

It's a nice luxury hotel. Fair size rooms with a modern touch. Upgraded to the club room, from a normal room. The hotel somewhat recognises it members, though this area of service could be improved. The breakfast was average, nothing spectacular. On the whole, as with most Intercontinental Hotels, it's the service you pay for. The hotel provided an excellent service, ensuring our stay was hassle free.

I spent 5 nights in this hotel for a business meeting in Lisbon. The hotel looks a bit worn, but the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The quality of the sleep is excellent, thanks both to the great bed and linens and the fact that you have 2 doors that separate the bedroom from the outside corridor and this is a very smart solution to keep the noise away. During this rather long stay, I experienced a leak in the bathroom, with water coming down from the ceiling: luckily it was nothing ... Read more

Good stuff: Hotel staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are clean, beds are comfortable as would be expected from a 5 star hotel. It is very well run and management does a good job with what it has. The major reason for downgrades is design Negatives: First the elevators are terrible. At times we had to wait 15 minutes. There was only one (sometimes 2) elevators serving the 16th floor and it was also used for luggage. Second - a 5 star hotel should have coffee makers and tea in the rooms.... Read more
