Great hotel for the price you pay. Location is amazing, just minutes walk to the beach, short walk to town center. All staff was very polite and helpfull, special thanks to barman (made us great cocktails). Room was clean, could have been bit bigger. It had lovely terrace overlooking the beach. Breakfast simple but enough to start the day. Would recommend this hotel.

We came here just for a cheap getaway for my boyfriend's birthday and got a great deal. The rooms were clean, modern and had all the basics that you need and the maid came in every day. Also, I don't know if it we just got lucky with where our room was located but the free wifi worked perfectly. The best part about this hotel is where it is - I didn't realise quite how close it was to the beach but it is literally on top of a cliff overlooking the sea, which was beautiful. Location of the hotel was close to the beach. It was convenient to walk or catch a regular shuttle into the city centre. There were restaurants with beautiful ocean views situated along the coast that were easily accessible. The staff were most welcoming and very helpful and the rooms were comfortable.

This was our second time staying at the Carvi Hotel and we'd come back again in the future. Staff are helpful, breakfast is filling, and the location can't be beat. Just a few steps down to the beach, and about a 15 minute walk to nearby restaurants. Rooms were clean and quiet, with ample free parking nearby for our rental car. Perfect for our weekend getaway!

Initial thoughts of the immediate vicinity were 'oh dear', run down, with derelict hotel adjacent. This hotel however looks nice on the face of it. Luckily we paid for the junior suite which is on the corner and has great sea views. The room was clean and the bed comfy. The bathroom was adequate. The pool was ok but food at the pool bar not great. Breakfast was very basic and the dining room is poorly set out and unappealing. We loved this hotel. Well-situated, lovely staff, good service, great breakfast. We opted for the 'side view', which meant we had the sun all day on our balcony, and a view of the beach and cliffs. Its location makes the hotel feel it's away from the hustle and bustle, but it's only about a 10-minute walk into lovely Lagos. We very rarely revisit somewhere we've stayed before, but we're seriously considering returning to the Carvi Beach.

I booked two rooms for my friends and I. The location and the beach are the best in Lagos. The hotel itself left much to be desired. The rooms were clean, we asked for extra pillows upon check in and they said they could not get them to us until the next day. The next day still no pillows. the breakfast provided was sub standard. Very few offerings and the staff made you feel rushed and unwelcome during breakfast service. There was construction the whole time there. It would start very early in t... Read more

The hotel is located just in front of one of the most beautful beach of Algarve, namely Dina Ana beach in Lagos. However it is not up the magnificent natural scenery. Rooms are small and incomfortable, bathroom very poor (breakfast basic as well (offering an awful coffee by the way), but the view is the worst: instead of offering a panoramic view of the beach I had a view of the parking! Quite pricey for the poor offer, the only advantage is that you are two minutes distant from the beach

The breakfast was lovely and simple, lots of breads, pastries, fruits and more on offer! We really enjoyed the bar in the evenings, especially with the wonderful Eugene making delicious cocktails. Good size balcony. Maid in attendance every day. Visit to the cocktail bar is suggested although a ‚?¨1 price hike while we were there was a bit steep. There is a bar at the hotel, but it's just for a day you don't want to go downtown, otherwise it's not very attractive. I wish they had a fridge on the rooms, that was really a turn off. The property was in a great location near to Donna Ana Beach which was great. It was clean however they did not service the room often. It also always smelt of cheap air freshener in the corridors. We had a 2 night trip to Lagos and in terms of location I don't think there was a better spot. The beach just down the street is beautiful and there are plenty more beaches within a 15 minute walk. The restaurant has a somewhat limited menu but seem more than happy to customise anything for you. The staff are super attentive.

I love this 3-star hotel mainly because it was so close to Praia Dona Ana. I stayed 2 nights and watched sunrise every morning on the beach. It was insanely beautiful. The room is basic and clean but all the other facilities such as the pool area, the roof-top restaurant should deserve higher rating. It is slightly far away from the town but it didn't bother me at all. Some people would walk but for us, we just take bus or just call a cab. 3-5 euros will take you back to the town. The hot... Keeping in mind this is a 3-star hotel, at a very cheap price: the value was great. So peaceful, great rooftop pool, great location, great breakfast. We first stayed in a junior suite - amazing. Large room, huge patio and ocean view. The regular rooms... WiFi did not work and smell was very bad and it is a 15-20 minute walk into town. The restaurant for dinner is very pricey and food not good. I would stay here again though.

Junior suite had beautiful views and ample space. Standard room was interior and much smaller and also smelled a bit. Rooftop pool and breakfast are good. Didn't try the restaurant. Food and drinks in general at the hotel were overpriced but there was a decent little store nearby. Reasonable price for the views from the junior suite. Staff was friendly and helpful booking us a kayak trip, which can't be missed. Wifi kind of sucks but that's pretty typical.

Went with my partner for 5 days mid Oct '16 and we were pleased with what we found. As we drove, there was plenty of free parking spaces right outside the hotel. Room was a bit sparse looking on first arrival: no dressing table and limited space between wall and foot of bed, but how long do you stay in a room? Staff were friendly and the breakfast in the upstairs dining room, well presented. Being October the roof top pool wasn't used a lot, but why would you need to when the Dona Ana beach was ... We stumbled across this little gem completely by accident due to a cheap deal online. The pictures were impressive but after staying here they do not do this hotel justice! It is a stunning hotel mere seconds away from Praia D.Ana beach, which in my opinion is the most beautiful beach i have ever seen! The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Lagos and once we had found our bearings we discovered a coast path that would take you from the beach to the top of Lagos with breathtaki... I was a solo traveller at Carvi Beach, and I didn't know what to expect, but I had a lovely weeks holiday. The staff were so nice, especially Fatima, the helpful reception staff, the brilliant barman, and the friendly room cleaner. My room was at the back of the hotel, but the shrubs and trees were lovely, and it was very peaceful. the hot water took a long time to run through, but once it did it was lovely and hot. Towels were changed regularly, and the room was fine. I took my own travel kettl... Read more

My husband and I, with other family members, stayed for 4 nights in September 2016. We have been to the Algarve many times but this was the first time in Lagos. The hotel was in a great location with wonderful ocean views. The rooms were basic, but very clean and we had a very large balcony looking out to the front of the hotel, with a side view of the ocean. Having a balcony was a real plus to be able to sit out and have pre dinner drinks or just read. The rooftop deck for breakfast, dinn... Read more

The rooftop restaurant (breakfast, dinner) has an incredible view of the water and smaller cliffs. Food is very good. Hotel also has rooftop pool. Staff was very courteous and helpful, especially Anthony, the restaurant manager. Highly recommend.

Stayed here in late October with my wife and young daughter. We all liked it and had no issues, and would probably stay here again. I wanted a beach hotel and this fitted the bill perfectly. Fabulous location right next to the beautiful Praia Dona Ana beach. Professional and friendly staff at all levels. Modern clean hotel. Good continental breakfast. Restaurant was accommodating. Points to note - Eating out in Lagos is pricey and hotel menu price is on par with other establishments. The roof ... Read more

My husband and I stayed for 9 nights at the end of September. We were checked in by Silvi who was very patient with us - I say this because the first two rooms we were shown had an unpleasant odour. Our final room was spacious, had a king size bed and plenty of storage space. The balcony was huge and offered a partial seaview. The bathroom was modern with a powerful shower. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels replenished. The air con wasn't too noisy. Safe facilities were available for a small ... Read more

We stayed at the Carvi Beach Hotel for two weeks in September. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who provided us with all the information we needed. The room we had was slightly small but big enough for our stay. The room was cleaned every day and the towels were changed when we needed. The room was fully air conditioned which was really useful with the hot nights, but during our stay we had to empty the water bottle from under the air conditioning unit a couple of... Read more

This hotel was recommended by friends given the views, and beach access. The hotel is a bit of a walk into the main part of town (~15-20 minutes) but still served its purpose well. The hotel itself, and the rooms were very underwhelming. Although they were quite clean, the hotel seems to be getting old and run down, and is in need of an update. We got a room on the ground floor, so we had absolutely no view from our "balcony" which pointed to a wall. This was fine, as we were only there to sleep... Read more
