The food at torre velha was terrible the so called breakfast had just 3 cereals to choose From thin proces cheese and ham no fresh orange juice and coffee no freshly made coffee. But coffee from a machine and the evening meals was very bad I could not eat them all We paid for half board , we only had the meals three nights out of nine nights. The first night I was offered lamb chops or fish and the lamb chops had been coocked And re-heated they was vulgar the next night I was offered fish agai... Read more

Had a great time at this Basic but very clean Hotel, Staff Friendly and helpful, Breakfast not the best, evening meals adequate but quite location made up for that, a few good restaurants near by, Three Beaches a stroll away, Bus stop at the top of the Road to Albufeira and the Marina. If your after a Quite Relaxing Hotel then this is up there for you.

The location was perfect for us, quiet on the edge of the countryside a short stroll to some of the best beaches I've seen. Torre Velha was just up our street, clean rooms with efficient cleaning staff. All of the staff were very helpful and cheery, Marta, Sylvia, Maria and Bruno and reception lady. Nothing was too much trouble, meals were lovely and reasonable bar was good value. Breakfast was continental but that suited us. Pool area was intimate where you could feel at home. Fantastic coastal... Read more

The location is excellent for a quiet holiday. Near to beaches and restaurants but not a lively location. Need a car if you want to see more and do more. Rooms are basis but acceptable certainly for the price you pay. Breakfast is a very basic DIY affair but the evening meals are quite good. If on half board the choice is limited to a given starter like soup or garlic bread. the main course is from a choice of two usually a fish [swordfish, tuna ,salmon] and a meat or pasta. There is a choice of... Read more

It's my first time visiting Torre Velha and Albufeira.... it's amazing... The staff at Torre Velha are very friendly and helpful. It's comfortable you can book your excursions at the reception...you have a tour bus stop where you can be collected to go in Albufeira (town)...Not far from the beaches there are many restaurants too.

Just returned from a disappointing visit to this hotel. We arrived at 2am with our 8 year old grandson and were allocated a "family" room over the lounge/bar area overlooking the road. This consisted of a twin room with a single bed squashed into the patio door area. Having been to this hotel on previous occasions, knowing that there are indeed family rooms located on the other side of the hotel I requested a change of room. I was told that following last year when they had 8 children staying at... Read more

Just returned from a nine night visit to the Algarve (first time visit to Portugal) staying at this Hotel, arrived at 11pm and welcomed the room was spacious and clean with a large balcony and the room comes with an overhead fan, a fridge and a kettle (if requested). and a safety deposit box which can be rented. Staying as room only I couldn't comment on the breakfasts others have mentioned but the coffee and food I ordered from the bar/restaurant was fine .All the staff were friendly and helpf... Read more

Close to two lovely beaches and roughly a 20 minute walk from another called 'Galé'. I stayed here with my boyfriend for a week and the staff were very welcoming especially the receptionist called Bella. She was the most helpful, was very nice to talk to and always greeted us with a smile. She gave us the best recommendations too. The food is nice, however there are a few restaurants close by for a larger variety of dishes. If you are looking for a peaceful holiday then this is the place to rel... Read more

They say you get what you pay for,in a nutshell Torre is a lovely family run hotel, and was perfect for our self-catering hols.that we wanted near a few beaches(2 8-10 mins walk away),we not into continental breakfasts so a stroll to Angies Place or Scoobies(Angies we preferred as fresh orange juice, lovely hosts)perfect for English breakfast, but main meals at Torre very good and reasonable priced,as well as 4or 5 eating places 5mins walk away. And the coconut ice-cream at Torre to die for!Worth a ... We stayed here for 10 nights. We only left this morning and all I can say is that the staff are brilliant. Very good at there job. The place is spotlessly clean. The bar is big and spacious and cheap, the restaurant is the same, menu small but cheap and food is lovely. The pool area is big enough and for those that find it too hot there are shaded areas. The rooms are basic but have all you need in them, the only negative I have about the rooms are the beds are a bit hard but everyone has there ... Read more

Now don't misunderstand me, this place is amazing with beaches everywhere, quiet, totally beautiful with opportunity to explore, eat out, party, stroll with your loved one and of course the amazing views, caves and unspoilt surroundings...BUT.....and a huge BUT... First of all....the rooms are so basic, without air conditioning, a TV so small I had as a kid 30 years ago, no tea facilities, or even more than one working plug socket which cannot be used due to the fridge being plugged into it! lovely , small, very clean and friendly hotel. In a quiet area away from the bussel of Albufeira. ideal for a solo female, felt very safe and welcome and made some nice friends. We shared a taxi into Albuferia in the evening which is well worth a visit day and evening but it was lovely to get back to the peace this hotel offers. very hot weather in june but made bearable by a warm wing that comes off the atlantic ocean. It was really relaxing sunbathing under the big leafy palm tree on the gras... Read more

Stayed for a week from 9th-16th. Hotel was fine and clean although basic. If you want 5 star this isnt for you and if you want a lively area again not for you but if you want a quiet relaxing break this will suit you. Old town can be reached by a taxi for between 8-10?. Maria, bella and bruno were great

Basic place to stay, friendly staff, cheap food, some of them are quite tasty. Sometimes the staff at the bar was moody, but overall a good experience. Bela was very helpful with all of our bookings!!!

Stayed here for 5 days in July. The hotel is ideally located for the beach and several lovely restaurants. The staff are really helpful and gave advice on the best places to eat and arranged transport for us to go to Armacao de Pera (nearby beach resort). On the downside the rooms don't have aircon so it was very hot at night.
