Stayed at the Francuski for three nights. Typical Polish hotel, with a stunning staircase. Rooms are large with comfortable beds. Decor to rooms a little dated but well maintained. Breakfast was included and was very good. Front of house staff pleasant, helpful and obliging. It is located in the Old Town in a quiet area a lovely few minutes walk to the main square. Could defiantly recommend staying at the Francuski and it was good value.

This hotel is fantastic. The rooms are large and bright and spotlessly clean. From the moment the Doorman opens the door to you, you are made to feel special and valued. All the staff are always smiling and are extremely helpful. The breakfasts catered for every taste and the lunch and dinners could not, in my opinion, be faulted. All the main sights were just a hop, skip and a jump away. We initially toured round in an electric powered "mini-bus", but afterwards walked everywhere. In the Main S... Read more

This is an old hotel.Might be the oldest in Krakow and is in the old town.Staff are very courteous and very helpful.Nice touch to still have a doorman in uniform to open the door etc for you.We had a room 409 on the 4th flloor in the middle of the hotel.Nobody either side of you and no noise apart from a few pigeons.Spacious room and very clean with period furniture. Not far from everything in the old town and ideal as a base.Big choice for breakfast.

Location, Location, Location is my mantra. And I chose this hotel after reading the reviews on TA. It didn't disappoint. It is excellently located from all the sights and many restaurants within walking distance. The hotel, one of the oldest in the city has a grand staircase reminding me of old Hollywood classics. We were in 410 and what a surprise. It was a suite, I am sure I had booked a dole room! A bedroom, small sitting area, dressing room and huge bathroom, what a treat. Excellent service ... Read more

I think we had a lower quality room than those on the website. It was on the top floor at the end of the hallway and was a tight space for 2. No wifi reception in room. But, overall, a charming hotel in a central location.

This hotel is quite old, surely more than 100 years. It has been refurbished sensitively. The interiors feel like 1920s all over again. We liked the restaurant - there are special (lower) prices in the early afternoon and the meals were enjoyable. The late checkout (at 12.00) is advantageous as well. As the hotel is already in the Old Town, you can spend the morning walking around Kraków. The Wi-Fi signal in our room was rather weak, but given the thick walls of the old building, I was sort-... Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a Eastern Europe trip. The holel is in an ideal location & is walkable from the train station. It is as you would expect old but was really spotlessly clean. On arrival the service was very good - checkin was easy, quick & efficient. Due to the age of the property there is no air conditioning but fans are available in the room. Tea & coffee facilities also available however there was no safe which is an opportunity? It is situated in the old town & within wa... Read more

This hotel is very comfortable. It is quite old fashioned if you like that, so there aren't lots of mod cons and the wifi is a bit iffy on the 3rd floor! But we loved it. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Sometimes it was a bit noisy in the street outside. Great atmosphere.

A short walk from the main square and various bars and restaurants. The staff were so friendly and accommodating with a banquet of food for breakfast. Rooms and Lobby full of character. I've passed the details to friends as I know they will love the hotel too.

I loved it....AND you get a proper room key not a plastic swipe card woohooo!!! If you like modern don't go here....but if you love something different and you want a classy hotel that harks back to a bygone era then stay here!

We enjoyed our 4 nights stay in this centrally-located century-old hotel. The fittings have been renewed without spoiling the charm. We were delighted with the range of items at the breakfast buffet and then various cooked eggs were available as well. The staff were happy to deliver first class attentive service: gently drawing my attention to the door key I'd left on the outside and offering a packed breakfast on the day of our early departure.

Old hotel with lots of interesting original features. Clean and comfortable with helpful staff. Good breakfast buffet. Walking distance to station and many of the main sights. Despite other reviews we got BBC World News but with a fuzzy picture on the old style TV. We also had no problem with WiFi connection. The hotel should say that they have a fridge in the room - so that you can keep fresh milk. Might be good to check that this is all rooms. We were given a suite. Very good base for explorin... Went for a weeks holiday second week of June with my husband and we were not disappointed! Lovely old hotel with history, ideal location, only a few minutes walk to the main square. Our room was like a small apartment with a little sitting room and a nice size bedroom, bathroom was also a good size. We stayed in Room 101 for 4 nights in June 2016. We were welcomed by a door man and a receptionist who both spoke good English and were very friendly. The hotel is very traditional - you almost feel like you are staying on the set of a historical movie, but it is clean and well maintained. Free Wi Fi works well, and the breakfast is ample. I stayed here on a short break (Friday - Monday) and booked flight and hotel via BA website. This hotel did not disappoint. I was warmly welcomed by the door man and the reception. My room was more like a suite with a sitting room and a TV in each room. There was a towelling robe neatly folded on the bed. Breakfast was a feast each day. They offered to cook omelets to order. My wife and I recently stayed at the Francuski and found it a hotel in need of modernisation, air conditioning would be a good start. The hotel does have a feel of old world elegance about it and the breakfast buffet was okay. It is reasonably centrally located. We discovered an electric socket hanging from the wall behind a bedroom cabinet...that gave cause for concern. Overall, it does what it says on the tin but i would be in no hurry to return. The TV in our room was the old CRT type.

For many decades, back in the communist era and earlier still, the Hotel Francuski was the place to head for when staying in Krakow. The old lady does her best to keep up appearances with her grand staircase, spacious rooms, friendly staff and wonderful breakfast buffet. But in 2016, tourists also look for trouble-free plumbing, reliable wifi and recent beds. Not to mention AC or a fan in order to cope with those hot and humid summer nights. You might not enjoy any of these, but the Francuski is... Read more

I would really recommend this hotel it was situated by the main square, so close to local attractions, places to eat and shopping centre. Twin room with all the usual services, plenty of storage, comfortable beds. Breakfast very good, wide selection of cold meats and cheese, bread, salads, cereals, hot food, fruit and yoghurts. Restaurant food excellent 10%.discount if staying in hotel, average cost for two people and two courses, with two beers £23.
