We stayed here this May 2016 for the first time because of its location (Ayala shopping center)The hotel is nice but the rooms could do with some new carpets. Our room had a bad odour. Otherwise it was all good and clean and the staff is very polite. The restaurant is also a nice place to dine with very helpful and friendly staff. We are happy to recommend the hotel.

This hotel is in a nice location in the city. It is connected to a very large mall (Ayala) where there is a nice courtyard outside with a lot of great restaurants and options. The hotel is clean and the staff are great. If you're a platinum member the concierge lounge is really nice. I'd definitely recommend this place.

This was nothing short of perfect. A basic room, but service was some of the best I experienced in any hotels anywhere. Everybody from front desk, to bartenders, to the cooks prepping the buffet were full of smiles. I have just reviewed Garden Cafe separately and in it, I gave full commendation to the service they extended to me during my brief stay at Cebu City Marriott. It would be a disservice if I consider that with my review of the hotel as I don't want to turn things askew. I arrived Friday after a 3-hour delay after my flight was cancelled from Manila. I stayed in room 626 for three nights. I noticed a plaque near the registration desk commemorating a 2008 renovation. In my opinion, the property is due for another refresh. The room furnishings are a bit tired and dated. The bathtub surface had a few repairs and should be replaced. During my stay, the hallways were being repainted, and the paint being used had an extremely strong off-putting smell. Service was a high point - everyone was very attentive and courteous, in particular the breakfa... Read more

One can expect a quality of service consistent with the US Marriott brand , so American tourists would feel right at home here. Location is a 2 minute walk to one of the largest malls in Cebu with a cinema and various well known local and global retail brands. The hotel is getting a little tired and in need of a complete refresh after so many years of service.

Staff is lovely at this hotel, but it is dated and needs a remodel. The hotel is quite loud for light sleepers as the heavy doors are constantly slamming and rooms are not sounds proof. Try for a corner room and away from the elevators if you can. Gym is descent with older equipment. Pool is nice! Oh and the spa at the mall whom the hotel uses, is not very good.

A friend of mine was in town a few days ago and I was lucky enough to be invited to join her. Rooms were spacious enough, bed comfortable and the breakfast buffet was superb. Awesome customer service. You get what you pay for.

We stayed here 10 years prior and it hasn't changed (which is a good thing). Great central location, clean, wifi, comfy beds, and a solid breakfast buffet. This is an excellent choice especially for those who are seeking familiar amenities from back in the U.S.

Very safe and secure property. This Marriott property is attached to the Ayala Mall property. All staff and security personnel were very professional and friendly. Live music in the lobby each night. Good buffet breakfast although a little pricey relative to Philippines. Decent wading pool and nice to have a lifeguard on staff.

As expected, just like our prev stay, the service was superb. But this time there's a plus, a thorough security check through X-ray . Never felt like this safe before in any hotels. If location, excellent service & safety are impt to you, this is the hotel of choice. Real 5 starū???

It's had been several years since I stayed at this hotel--presumably the best in Cebu--and I remember being unimpressed at that time. However, I thought that perhaps I'd give it another chance, since I've yet to find a hotel in this city that merits more than an honest 3 stars. If anything however, the place is worse than I remember: it's old, deteriorating, with inadequate furnishings that should have been replaced years ago. From the cheap carpeting, to the scratched, outmoded furniture, to th... Read more

Spent the last two nights of my trip to Cebu at the Marriott. I decided to do so, because as a Gold Rewards Member, I could have a late check out. As my flight was in the evening, this was advantageous. This is a good hotel and the staff attentiveness was very good. The location is great, as it's next to Ayala Mall. There's even a side door and walkway connecting to the mall. The breakfast buffet is top quality, with lots of choices. There are cheaper hotels in the area, but then you get what yo... Read more

The Marriott hotels never fail to deliver quality service. The professional staff were quick to help me with my many needs. The room is a bit older but comfy. Location is good too. One complaint: breakfast buffet was very cold. One waiter, Ben, quickly noticed my issue and brought me warm food. Thanks!

We stayed in Cebu City Marriott Hotel for 2 days in between our trips from Hongkong and from Singapore. Staff is very friendly and courteous. We had a lovely room that overlooked a part of Ayala. It was very convenient that the hotel had a quick access to the Ayala mall. And as always the breakfast buffet was top notch with its varied food choices. I particularly liked the malunggay tea and was very impressed when our server offered a take away cup of tea with lemon to soothe my cough.Of the many... Read more

This is my go to hotel whenever visiting Cebu - Safe, clean, friendly staff and close to a mall (if you're not sleeping during the day). On my last stay we had a bartender named Aubrey - She is the reason that I am writing this review. She was so friendly, remembered our names each day, always had a smile, and even brought us a small sampling of her favorite foods to try. She made this stay more memorable than any other stay thus far. I can't wait to look for her to say hi the next time th... Read more

Check in took for ever, normally as a platinum menber : one is supposed to get a letter mentioning the benefits, no letter was given Breakfast was just as bad as any US hotel, as if this was not Asia All greasy food, healthy is as strange as could be. Again, the greasy spoon is in fashion Rooms are very old, plumbing may be 40 years old Sandwiches after noon tea was nothing but big thick bread with a smell of cheese or what ever. I had initial setbacks when I first visited. Room wasn't ready. Receptionist wasn't as accommodating as you'd like her to be. The fee they charge you for ground transportation is ridiculous! Ridiculously high for someone who is always late for pick up. I don't mind paying higher fee as long as I leave on time. They don't plan for traffic in the city. I always get the excuse, it's traffic. There was one time I waited for almost an hour when they had at least a day notice of my scheduled pickup. A... Read more

Very fast and efficient check in. Room was specious and clean. Staff were so helpful and polite. Breakfast was good. The hotel is interconnected to Ayala mall which is one of the best shopping centers in Cebu. Check out process took less than a minute. The only reason I gave this hotel 4 out of 5 because the hotel is kind of old.

The hotel is right beside Ayala Center, it is even connected. Talk about convenience! Plenty of restaurants on a wide array of budget. The hotel staff is very friendly, always ready to assist and answer your questions. We arrived pretty early due to our early flight but we won't be availing of breakfast the next day bec we have a very early trip to Oslob. So they allowed us to avail of our breakfast the day of our arrival instead. Housekeeping is very good. Security is excellent too. We'll defin... Read more

Pros: - staffs are very attentive, friendly, accommodating and you can feel that they really love their jobs. - wide variety of food in the buffet and very delicious - clean rooms - the location is adjacent to ayala malls - convenient if you are in a business trip. Cons - hotel pool is small for our taste we need to go to another hotel for a day tour package - not a resort type hotel no activity to do but to go to malls and go shopping Still we enjoye... Cebu City Marriott Hotel stands out because of its outstanding service (cheerful, polite, insightful, efficient staff members at the lobby, in restaurants, housekeeping staff members, security and so on). Buffet is outstanding, they stick to time-tested dishes, not very adventurous but food and drinks are very satisfactory, enough to please every type of diner. There are healthy options as well as options for vegetarian diners. Most importantly, there is quality control in serving each item in t... Read more

A really nice cozy, clean room and bathroom. I particularly loved the bath products. Service was great too. The lobby was a nice place to relax at the end of a long day. Great location, has its own passageway to the ayala mall next door. My favorite part: breakfast time was simply divine!!!!

The room was very spacious and ideal for work and play. The desk has ample space and 4 available outlets to plug in chargers and laptops. There was also a sofa chair with a movable table so you could sit comfortably and eat or work. The TV is large but the universal remote made it difficult to select inputs for HDMI or USB. The bathroom is also spacious and the toiletries provided are top notch and are above what other hotels offer (i.e. only soap, shampoo, lotion). There were sewing kits (... Read more

First of all, this is my first trip to Cebu hence I would like to play safe and go for a reputable hotel and Cebu City Marriott Hotel did not let me down. There was a slight hiccup during check in as they didn't recognize my membership status but was corrected within a short while. On entering the first room I was assigned to, I was disappointed as the room though well maintained definitely looked dated. As some of the other review have indicated the Cebu Marriott is an older hotel & it's age is clearly evident in several places. Despite this the hotel is well maintained and clean, with excellent customer service from the reception to business lounge. The Marriott is approximately an hours taxi ride from the airport which is approximately 250 PHP, the hotel can arrange but you will be paying an additional service fee for the same style and standard of car The hotel gym in the basement is w... If you're looking for a business type hotel wherein you can have some business meetings or occasions. Better pick this place. I remember we had a Junior's and Seniors Promenade back when I was in high school. It was memorable since it was my first time to attend such event in a very prestigious hotel. It was quite expensive but still would treasure it. The place is nice. Very elegant. Most of the staff here are well-trained. Last time I had a business meeting here last month. Avoid. Unless you are seriously desperate ‚?? go somewhere else. This time warp from 1980 has lovely staff but lousy infrastructure, starting from the moment you enter the cumbersome slow lifts to the depressing d√©cor and dreadful carpet of the bedrooms.
