We stayed at Hotel Mariel for three nights in April 2016. Good location in Miraflores. Rooms are small, but clean. Our only complaint is that we returned after a long day to find no hand towels, soap or floor mat, and the mini-bar had not been replenished. There is nothing wrong with this hotel; it just didn't compare strongly with other places we stayed in Peru.

Rooms are a little small but the bed is comfy, the rest room facilities are good, it isn't too noisy and the air works. Out of 10 Wifi in room 5 Beds 8 Air Cond. 9 Bedding 9 Location 8 Restroom 8 Value 9 We were happy with the service and the accommodations. The Wifi on our floor was not so great but it was okay in the lobby. It was good enough that we will be back there next week.

Mariel Hotel & Apartments is essentially a 2-building set-up. You have the main building as the hotel, and around the corner are the apartments. We stayed in the apartment section. The apartments are modern, clean, and so spacious. There is also 24-hour Security. You walk to the door, and they buzz you in. NICE!!! Although it was only my husband and I traveling, we have luggage. Having said that, we enjoy additional space when available. For the same price of what we would pay for a ho... Read more

There is nothing like showing up early so our luggage could be stored only to be told that our reservation (that had been confirmed 2 months earlier) had been "cancelled" by the hotel. I had booked through booking.com and the hotel staff said they had no rooms and they had no suggestions of where we could go Thankfully, I was able to contact booking.com and eventually the hotel staff admitted that they had never made my hotel reservation (after initially saying there was a credit card issue, eve... I made a 8-night reservation at this hotel because of the reviews on Trip Adviser. We stayed at the hotel because they did not have room in their"apartments". It was quite small because of the king size bed, the AC and refrigerator did not work. We have a 2-year, so I do not recommend staying at the hotel if you have family. We arrived at 3 in morning because of delays and we moved to the Hotel Estelar Miraflores the next day. We ended up paying for 2 nights because we decided to move after ... Read more

Good location, very clean, 24 hour security, great staff! This is located in a good spot to get to everything in Miraflores. Also near the fish market and a laundromat. Very clean. Good water pressure. We stayed at the apartments across the street from the main office. Would recommend this property to anyone.

Mariel is located in a quiet community in Miraflores about 40-45 minutes from the airport. We checked in in their lobby and had to walk to the next building where the apartment is located; which to me was quiet inconvenient. The thing I really like was the secuirty systm- there was a primary door at the entrance controlled by the doorman, who was located in the counter inside the apartment. The master's bedroom had 2 twin beds and the smaller room had a matrimonial bed which to me was quiet s... Read more

This hotel was sufficient for what I needed - somewhere affordable in the Miraflores area. Whilst the location is alright it is still quite a walk to Larcomar and the beachfront area. Wifi worked ok - I had a higher floor room and would suggest this to avoid traffic noise. Appreciated that my room had a bath - not that many that I stayed at in South America did. The breakfast was a good included start to the day. Renovations were going on at level 2 I think it was whilst I was there but they did... Read more

We recently checked in the hotel where our booking was for standard room with two beds for 14 days paid in advance. The staff gave us room at 6 th floor with small window and room had a bad smell we complained about it at the time of check in. They told they have one room available and will shift us in different room in morning. In the morning they showed us other standard room on different floor with same problem. We didn't accepted that they then upgraded us to executive room for one day a... Read more

I added one star because they all speak English and smile, which is great. The breakfast is average, the room's are ok. Probably overpriced. They wanted $77 for my second night, I left for Dimar Inn which I preferred and was less than half of the price. And they also smile and speak English.

Our last day there was MISERABLE! Quick intro: We are a family of 4, traveling with two children, ages 5 and 2. Let's start off with the good things, the things that made it a potential excellent rating. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, that was really nice and spacious. There were 2 bathrooms and even a small wash room with a clothes line, just in case. Their buffet was good, and the waiters were on top of things, cleaning up after guests had left and refilling items on the table. The housek... Read more

I have been staying at this hotel for the past 7 years. I stay here or at the IBIS when in Lima. When I made my reservation I forgot that my last trip to the Mariel earlier this year there was construction going on across the street and next door, and it was annoying. NOW there is remodeling going on INSIDE the actual hotel with construction still across and next door. The noise from 8:00am to 6:00pm was UNBEARABLE at all times. I received an email about a week before my arrival and there was NO... Read more

It was a nice place. We appreciated the location, the staff, our room and the restaurant. All of it was to our liking. We definitely recommend this hotel. The airport is about 30 minutes away. The hotel can provide a driver for a fee (in USD). We asked for one due to our mid-night arrival and departure.

Great location in Miraflores, next to a market for gifts and not far from Parque Kennedy. The reception let us check in early for $40 as we arrived at 6am which was very useful! The room was lovely, but our lights were broken so flickered through the night. The breakfast was good too, and reception let us print off our boarding passes for free.

We stayed in the Apartments, so spacious and clean. Bathrooms neat and en-suite. Comfortable Dining and Lounge area as well as a Kitchen with large Fridge/Freezer. Breakfast healthy with wide selection of Hot and Cold food and o so tasteful. Staff always eager to assist in any questions which made our stay wonderful. ??ę Complementary Coffee would be super nice in the Apartments.

This hotel is good enough for the value and for only putting in 1 night. I'm not sure that I would stay here any longer. It's clean enough and good enough for a short time. I also can't say that I would come back here. We chose this place specifically because we knew it would only be a 1 night stay in Lima before heading out to Cusco the next day. Pros: -hotel will hold your bags while you go explore -doorman/security guard -clean rooms -hot water, but shower tub is small. -nice cozy lobby -... Read more

The pictures online are very deceiving. Our room had an awful odor similar to cat urine. Asked to switch rooms and they said they were full. We were given air freshener spray which we used every 30 minutes throughout the whole night. Bathrooms had mold and room felt damp. Will not be returning.

Nothing outstanding, nothing bad to write about this hotel, your standard business hotel. The location is great, right opposite the artisan markets and a couple of blocks away from the park. The beach area is also not too far. There is an in-house restaurant but with the number of restaurants within walking distance, we didn't eat there

This hotel is ideal for its location for shops and restaurants, our room was a little tired but it looked like the hotel is gradually being renovated so when it's finished it will be 5 star. Breakfast was good although the scrambled eggs were cold. Staff were always helpful and friendly. We are on a tour at present and staying in the Novotel which is more upmarket but location for shops etc is poor compared to Mariel.

Only 3 stars but the staff tries very hard to make you feel at home. Clean rooms, although some on the lower floors are better, more modern and spacious than the one on the top floors. Centrally located in miraflores and a decent breakfast included.

Hotel Mariel is a very nice hotel with reasonable prices and a delicious free breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. I also appreciated the car transport to and from the airport for $30 USD. It helped me feel safe when arriving to Lima as a solo traveler. The hotel is in a great location - a block away from the artisan street shops and a few blocks from Parque Kennedy (with all the cute cats). You are also a few blocks way from the bus stop that can take you to Downtown Lima. Overall had... Read more

Located 3 blocks from Kennedy park in the Mira Flores neighborhood. Good location. Nice friendly staff, sometimes a bit chaotic. They missed our request for a taxi in the morning and that gave us some extra stress. Rooms are not to big but good. Bathroom nice.
