Excellent place to stay in Cusco!! Staff attend to your every need and are so friendly and welcoming. While this hotel is not in the Plaza de Armas, the hotel has drivers that will take you there (or around the city) for 6 sol. We were given a hotel cell phone to call for a driver once we were ready to return. That made things so easy. Breakfast is good, staff will make eggs to order & there is a nice selection of breakfast foods to chose from. We even left our luggage there when left to Agua... Read more

This review is to thank Peggy the owner and the wonderful staff, particularly Marco and Martin, for the care and attention we received while staying at Torre Dorado. We stayed in May for four nights. The room had a wonderful, comfortable bed, nice linen, and bottled water. It is located in a nice suburban area and hotel is very secure. A taxi was always on hand to drop and pick up from Cuzco main square for $2 a trip one way, about ten minutes. We were given a hotel cell phone to ring for taxi s... Read more

We stayed one night here on our way out of the region. All four of us were highly impressed with the service and cleanliness of the hotel. The rooms are very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff - especially Peggy and Martin - are very friendly and helpful. Taxi rides to and from the plaza are a cheap S/6 compared to other concierge services. Breakfast is great and they will cook your eggs to order. The hotel grounds are beautiful and offer a small but varied array of wildlife and bird... Read more

This hotel was amazing and everyone was very helpful. The room was very nice and clean and there was always hot water for tea ready in the sitting area. The staff was very helpful finding us cabs and helping get directions to places making sure that we always got where we needed to go on time.

I can not say enough positive things about this hotel. I stayed for four nights and the hospitality was incredible. The owner Peggy and the staff were kind, friendly, and so helpful. As someone with severe food allergies they went above and beyond to be sure that I was taken care of- something that I appreciate so much. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Torre Dorada when you visit Cusco. It will be a highlight of your trip- I promise.

The hotel is located "quite a distance" from the Main Plaza of Cusco. It's not that far but it is best accessed by car/taxi. What is great is that the hotel staff coordinates our transport to and from the Plaza. When we are done with tours or walking around, we call them and they send a taxi to pick us up at the pick up point (Pizzeria in the Plaza);takes about 10 minutes max. 6-7 soles (or $2+) one way. (Note: we had a local cellphone given by our tour agency so we can make local calls.) The h... Read more

I'd give the hotel 3.5 stars if I could. I stayed here based on the excellent reviews from Trip Advisor, and to be honest, I found the place slightly over rated. First, the positives: Service was awesome. No complaints there. Transportation was always on time when prearranged. Second, the negatives: The walls are THIN. i could hear the maids cleaning next door. I could hear the dogs and much barking outside. No blackout blinds. This place is located in a very quiet residential neighborhood. ... Read more

The lady who owns this place is amazing. She and her staff speak fluent English and go out of their way to help you in anyway. We had weird travel times and showed up without reservation at 600am and they were friendly and let us in early. Great free breakfast with buffet and eggs prepared for you any style. Already rebooked our return journey with them.

We stayed at Torre Dorada twice, bookending our trip on the Inca Rail to Machu Picchu. To echo what other reviewers have said, we were able to leave larger luggage here and collect it on my return which was very handy and made the train ride/subsequent stay in Aguascalientes that much more stress free. We caught the 6am Inca Rail train from Cusco and they not only arranged a taxi for us but provided us with a delicious sack breakfast. Coca tea and menta tea (to aid with going to sleep) is also f... Small hotel with the most helpful staff ever; Peggy even fed our driver when he arrived too early! Breakfasts are excellent, cheap taxi service to the plaza worked perfectly every time. Loved the location, away from the chaos of the plaza but close enough to visit easily. Easy airport access. Rooms off a common area function excellently for groups. I would say my best hotel experience. Go, you'll love it.

We stayed at Torre Dorada after visiting Machu Picchu and it was one of the best experiences we have had to date. When traveling through places like Peru you hear many stories of terrible places people have stayed but this was something special. So I traveled to Cusco with my teenage son. I read the reviews and booked this hotel. This place is great. It's not in the city center but convenient enough to anything and everything. They even gave me a phone when I went out just in case I needed a taxi. The assisted me in getting Machu Picchu tickets through a local travel agency. They offer to take us anywhere, taxi fee was only a few soles. The customer service was exceptional!:)...I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here after hiking Macchu Picchu. As other reviewers wrote, the hotel is in a safe and quiet residential area of Cusco, away from the historic center. You can walk to the main Plaza de Armas, but it would likely take you about 45-60 minutes. The hotel is not near the plaza, and that was our only worry before booking this hotel. After staying there, I can tell you it was not only not an issue, but it was actually a positive aspect of its location. The plaza is pretty noisy and busy, so this hotels location in a residential area was ideal if you are looking to actually get some sleep in a safe area. When we arrived at Cuzco, we got a cab on our own (not the one sent from the hotel) but the driver looked a bit confused in finding the address.
