We only stayed here for one night and I wished we stayed longer. Good clean room and helpful staff. There is a restaurant in house if you don't want to go and find a place at night. Great central location for visiting the plaza de armas.

This hotel was conveniently located a short walk from all the main attractions. Staff were courteous and helpful. The room was a good size and clean. The bed was absolutely huge. Although we overlooked the road this was the first hotel we stayed in in Peru which had double glazing so noise wasn't too much of an issue and it was amusing watching drivers fighting for priority along the narrow street. Shower was hot and powerful. The buffet breakfast was typical of the country with scrambled eg... Read more

I will highly recommend this hotel not because it is great but because of their staff. They are so friendly and really easy to approach if you need anything they will happily obliged to help you especially the girl receptionist and the guard ( I forgot to ask their names) They have free coca tea if you have altitude sickness and with the leaves in the center table of the lobby. Definitely will stay here again.

This was an inexpensive and very clean hotel located in a great area. I wasn't looking for anything more than that. The shower was the best water pressure and temperature of my trip. Breakfast was average. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Most of the other hotels I stayed at in Peru were double the price but not any nicer. Location is about a 5-10min walk to the main square through a nice area. The hotel is located very close to Qurikancha. I think they must be in the process of ... Read more

This hotel like Jorge Luis' other place at Lake Titikaka is beautiful. The decor and environment is very relaxing, the food is nice at meal times. The room was spacious and has free wifi if you want it. Showers are hot and full blast and the bed was very comfortable! The hotel is tucked down a street so very little noise but just a few hundred yards away was a busy square with great places to eat. Perfect!!

We stayed two nights here and we were very pleased with the staff, the breakfast food, and the location of the hotel. For the price, it was a very good deal. We would highly recommend to others and would stay here again. They were also very helpful with holding luggage.

This hotel is pretty beautiful. When you arrive, the host receive you with a coca tea. It will make you feel better. You can reach all the interest places walking: plaza de armas, casa de Santo Domingo, and a lot of restaurants. The rooms are very comfortable. If you want a double or triple occupancy. There are a warmer machine, TV cable, hot water. The breakfast is included and is just what you need to start a good trip in CUSCO. There are COca leaves in the reception, you can try it.

Tapypikala is right in the heart of Cusco, surrounded by history, cultural interest, and entertainment. The lobby is inviting and comfortable, with oxygen for those who need some help getting used to the altitude. My room was in the "old" section, and it was gorgeous -- spacious, nicely decorated, very clean, and super quiet. The owners and staff are lovely and knowledgable.

Taypikala is a clean and well-situated hotel within walking distance of the Plaza de Armas and other central sites. What I really enjoyed were the thoughtful touches: coca leaves & tea in the lobby, oxygen in clear sight, artwork on every wall, unique rooms (we loved our high wooden ceiling), and a lovely courtyard with an outdoor fountain area as well as a covered lounge area. The restaurant was only average, but it was nice to eat there the first night as we acclimated to the altitude. All-in-... Read more

We loved the location and staff of the hotel - but both rooms we stayed in had moisture problems. If you have allergies don't stay here as they will be set off. Also bathrooms were in need of an upgrade - we couldn't use the bath as the bath plugs didn't work, and in the first room the faucet was almost falling out. A decent option and breakfast was pretty good and beds comfortable

This was a nice hotel, centrally located, with a very helpful staff. On the first day, two of us were miserable with altitude sickness, but the staff were so calm and casual about it, that we were very comforted. Employees are super nice. We ordered room service and also ate at their restaurant and the food was excellent. Great location. When you discover the shortcuts, it is very close to the center of the town even though on the map it looks like it is far. The restaurant decor is very original and the free breakfast buffet is better than some of the more expensive restaurants we stayed while in Peru. Pros: great breakfast, nice rooms, clean, spacious, not too pricey. Cons : I'm used to getting very warm welcomes and very friendly service in Cusco. I didn't feel that here -- maybe it was just a few staff members, but I felt this way throughout. Also, location is close to center but we were advised not to walk back at night. Other than that, amenities are good!

Stayed here for 4 nights and it was perfect for what was needed. Upon arrival we were able to drop our bags off in storage since it wasn't check in time yet and we walked around the city. Clean rooms, felt safe, good breakfast included. 10 minute walk from the main plaza and right by restaurants and other tourist spots. The front desk was able to arrange cabs for the drive to Poroy and the staff was very friendly.

We stayed here as part of our tour with G Adventures. The rooms are comfortable and quite large considering that it is used by a lot of package tour companies. The hotel is well located - very close to the temple of the sun and a short stroll to the Plaza. The staff are friendly and the breakfast buffet was quite substantial - there was even an omelette station.

When booking a hotel I base my decision on location, price & rooms. This hotel hit the mark on price & location. The room looked nothing like the photos in the ads. The room itself was very dark & depressing. There was a curtain in the room which I thought looked out to the street. But to my surprise when opened it revealed the shower & tub.
