5 min walk from the Plaza de Armas. This place had big rooms and private landings/terraces to hang with friends and enjoy a drink. One of the best showers ever. And a helpful staff. Made us feel welcomed and comfortable at a very affordable price. Even had English channels on the TV.

Our Inca Trail guide booked this hotel for us, but we could not have been more pleased. The rooms were a good size and clean. All of the courtyards in every twist and turn were beautiful. The breakfast was delicious and hours for the breakfast lasted a VERY long time. Plus, the location to the Plaza de Armas, restaurants, and laundry services is wonderful. I wish every hotel was this nice!!

RP is convenient to the main plaza and to San Blas. The rooms are smallish, but very nice and clean. It not super fancy tho and not right on the plaza, if you care about such things. Breakfast dining is solid and staff excellent. It's especially easy to leave bags at the hotel while you are treking!

We stayed here for 4 nights while exploring Cusco. They stored our luggage while we did the Salkantay Trek and then we spent our last night here, as well. The rooms are big, beds are comfy and we loved (and utilized) the many balconies and courtyards! The staff was incredibly accommodating! They booked a taxi with English speaking driver to take us to Pisac and made a reservation at the Planetarium. Breakfast was great too. Would absolutely recommend to anyone traveling to Cusco! We loved this p... Read more

My first impression with this hotel was a very bad one. Out of hundreds of hotels I've stayed at around the world, this place did something I've never experienced before: they cancelled the reservation I had made over three months in advance a week before my arrival. No explanation, no apology. Booking.com scrambled to find me another hotel but the only option they could come up with was not satisfactory. After multiple stressed calls with Booking.com, the hotel decided to honor my reservation a... Read more

This hotel is located about ten minutes walk from the main square in Cusco. It is on a main street yet maintains a quiet atmosphere. Nicely situated between the busy tourist area and the less busy bohemian neighbourhood of San Blas. Very pretty courtyard and gardens within the hotel and definitely maintains a Peruvian air. However, it can be difficult to have total quiet as all guest doors open into the quadrangle so noisy neighbours do not go unnoticed. Lovely buffet style breakfast every morni... Read more

Stayed here on 2 occasions, either side of our trip to Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu, they stored one of our bags in between for us which was helpful. The hotel is gorgeous, colonial style, pots of flowers everywhere, it is a lovely place. Staff friendly and rooms spacious, including a bar fridge and king sized comfy beds. Breakfast is extensive, so much fresh fruit to choose from, as well as eggs/omelettes to order. Only a 5-10min walk into Plaza de Armas, with so many eating and shopping opti... Read more

From the outside Rumi Punku looks nothing special, a small door nestled in a stone (part Inca) wall on a narrowish, cobbled street. But once inside you can't fail to be impressed. The hotel has been fashioned out of a large, old house with rooms located on multiple levels, most centred around a couple of attractive internal courtyards with fountains, flowers and potted plants, somewhat reminiscent of riads in Morocco. It is eye catching and provides a peaceful environment away from the hustle... Read more

This is a nice, unique, clean hotel near Plaza de'Armas. Wonderful breakfast, good price, clean rooms..who could ask for more. They stored our luggage while we hiked the Inca Trail. Answered emails promptly and provide oxygen if necessary. When we returned from the Inca Trail, our bags were in our room. This is a great hotel for the price!!! ---seriously book it!!!! Check out Jack's Café down the street!!!

Despite our brief visit we received a very warm welcome - much more so than some other hotels in Cusco. The staff were extremely helpful when we needed them and the hotel itself is beautiful and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend to others.

Rumi punku was an absolutely stunning hotel. Both the building an the chosen interior design was a mix between a Peruvian folkloric decoration, infused with the pre colonial Spanish touch. I really enjoyed staying here because the hotel kept up with the Norwegian standards I am accustomed to when it comes to cleanness, order and room standard. I will recommends this hotel to both families, couples and people travelling alone. The hotel is located only two short block from the main Plaza. If yo... Read more

Great location. We stayed here for 3 nights to acclimate to high altitude before our 4 day trek to Machu Picchu. Within walking distance of main attractions in Cusco. Great service: transportation to and from airport. Stored our luggage while we were on trek. Had bags in our rooms on our return after trek. Great buffet breakfast each morning.

I stayed at the Rumi Punku for 3 nights, after doing the Salkantay trek up to Macchu Picchu. It was a great change of scenery after sleeping in tents for 5 nights. The hotel design feels a mix of Peruvian and colonial Spanish, and the open space in the middle of the hotel was very relaxing. It is very close to the main Plaza and has everything you need in a 10-15 minute walking distance. I loved the breakfast, it had fresh fruits, avocados, yogurt, eggs to order, and more all included. We stayed at Rumi Punku for three nights total, two before our Inca Trail hike, and one after. It was by far our favorite hotel in Peru. They picked us up from the airport with no problem. We stayed in a triple room which was comfortably appointed. The courtyards are beautiful and well maintained. There are lots of signs asking for guests to be quiet from late night until early morning, and they also supply ear plugs in case you're extra sensitive to noise. The hotel stored out luggage for us ... Read more

We stayed at Hotel Rumi Punku in Cusco on three different occasions for a total of four nights in June of 2016. The first two nights, upon our arrival in Cusco, we were in room 107. On our second visit, after our 2 day tour of Sacred Valley, we spent one night in room 205. On our third visit, after our hike along the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu experience, we spent one night in room 202. For each night in Hotel Rumi Punku, we were charged $110 US, but after the credit card and exchange rate fee... Read more

We checked into the Rumi Punku (RP) in search of heat and a comfortable bed. Our first hotel in Cusco had not lived up to its billing so the services of the RP were much appreciated. The RP offered heat beginning each evening at 5 pm, a small fridge, and plenty of hot water in the bathroom. The breakfast included in the price offered good choice of eggs, ham, cheese, cereals, yoghurts and juices. Hot water for tea was available in the lobby round the clock. Other benefits: good central loca... Read more

My husband and I enjoyed staying at this hotel. The people there are very accommodating, they allowed us to check-in even if we were three hours ahead of our appointed time. The place was clean and quiet, and had that rustic ambiance. The rooms were just the right size. It just gets cold in the room even if we were already covered with four blankets! They start serving breakfast at 5:00 am so people who need to leave early can eat. They also have a storage for luggage in case you need to leave y... Read more

My boyfriend and me really enjoyed our stay at Rumi Punku. We loved the mix of Inca and Spanish architecture and the beautiful little patio. The view from the upper terrace is amazing. We had a lovely stay at Rumi Punku either side of our Salkantay trek. The hotel itself was beautiful, rooms were clean and very nice with good towels and bed linen. On our 3rd night we were upgraded for free and the room was incredible (separate living room and balcony, huge windows overlooking the courtyard and jacuzzi bath!). Built in and behind an old (inca?) house, this place has great character. The rooms are relatively modern and are arranged in a jumble round two courtyards. There is a small lounge /dining room where breakfast is served ( no other meals provided), and in the deep winter there is a wood fire in here, plus a tea making table open 24 hours. The big plus, apart from character is location, only about 8 minutes walk from the main square and many restaurants. The possible downside is that the way it is... Read more

We had a very complicated trip schedule, checking in and out and also having to cancel a night last minute due to cancelled flights. The hotel was extremely understanding and accommodating with all of our needs. They also offered a shuttle from the airport and welcomed us with coca tea. Quaint little place. Within walking distance to the Plaza but away from all the hustle and bustle. They always had hot water. Showers with good pressure. All rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was above average. We did several excursions while we were in Peru. Each time, the hotel put our bags in storage and had it ready for us in our rooms each time we returned. We didnt have to hassle with getting our bags up and down. It was always a pleasu... Read more

This is a fabulous place to stay in the city center of Cuzco. Using it as a base camp (albeit four stars) from which to make the trek to Machu Pichu then return for well deserved rest. Fairly close to some nice restaurants, tourist sites, and stores for last minute supplies. Laundry service for dirty hiking clothes was most appreciated. Very secure. Morning breakfast was unbelievable. Just fabulous. Highly recommend it.

Our stay at Rumi Punku was wonderful. The Hotel had so much character with many sitting areas, antique decor and a feeling that you were a guest in a 15th Century home. The location was perfect, a 2 block walk to the Plaza de Arms, and also close to restaurants, shops, and grocery markets. The breakfast hall was large, wonderfully decorated and the breakfast was delicious. There was a chief to make your eggs to order, delicious breads, fruits, avocado, kiwi, tomatoes and more. Our family of 4 loved our 5 night stay at Rumi Punku. The hotel is historic, warm, and charming, and the staff could hardly have been more friendly and helpful. Located on a quiet street not far from the Plaza Mayor, the hotel is a marvelous place to stay when visiting the Sacred Valley. And given the very reasonable prices, you can hardly do better in Cusco. Ask for Room 402, a lovely aerie with extraordinary views and private terrace.

My wife and I completely enjoyed our 8-day stay at the Rumi Punku. The location is perfect for enjoying Cusco - the main plaza is an easy 5 minute walk, and restaurant options are close by.
