I liked this place. It was a bargain for the comfort and quality of the room, the view, and then the breakfast buffet. I didn't take a pic and my apologies for that but it's worth staying here just for breakfast!!! HUGE Buffett with everything from fresh fruits, some unusual local ones too, to standard pancakes and French toast, eggs and hash browns, but....fresh yogurt, salad bar, fresh unusual juices; a cheese section; meat section; bread section; pastry section; local specialty section; wel... My firm sponsored an international conference and everything that could have gone wrong DIDN'T. This is not a luxury spot, nor is it new. It's well-maintained, functional, and extremely good value. My only minor gripe is that the water in my shower never got quite hot - it stayed tepid, which was disappointing given how cold the room can get - like most indoor spaces in Panama. Nice pool area, serviceable food, and a short walk from the SOHO shopping mall, conveniently located for downtown... Read more

The Riu Plaza Panama was an elegant hotel in a very busy business district in Panama. It was next to their World Trade Center.Once you enter the hotel all the noise of the traffic disappear. The staff is extremely attentive. The breakfast buffet is the best I have ever seen from all the countries we have traveled. This was the first time we have stayed in a Riu property but certainly not our last.

The highlight along with the attractive hotel was the amazing and excellent included breakfast. Fruit and fresh cooked eggs, breads of every description, coffee brought to your table and many Panamanian options like rice and beans and meats. I loved the pineapple mint juice. Check in was easy and courteous. The man by the pool quickly brought you a large towel. There was a bar/restaurant by the pool. The room had a double bed and a couch bed, for 3 people two doubles or queens would work better.... Read more

I was having a big event in this hotel. The staff are helpful and make me feel better in a ALL SPANISH country. The hotel staff speak good english and always attentive to what we want. The room is very dusty and smelly which we requested to change to the other room. First day staying in the room, it was alright, but second third forth fifth day, the room become smelly. I didnt do any complain as I was too busy running my event.

The hotel room was modern and crisp. I think they can pay attention to smaller details like the shower caulking but overall I was very happy with the room overall. The shower had me confused for a bit but I managed. The restaurant food was great and they had a movie night at the lounge when I was there which was really interesting. Taxis are always available.

I have been visiting Panama on and off for two years and every time come back to this Riu hotel. Centrally located and just a pleasure from check in to check out. Breakfast buffets are absolutely incredible and the rooms are comfortable, spacious and perfect for the business traveler. The hotel offers several different restaurants and the pool is really nice. Highly recommended hotel. Provides taxi service to airport on request.

We are Deaf couple. We wish some of the front desk knew Sign Language. But it was so good service. The breakfast was the best ever since I stayed in different hotels. Good warm foods and cold foods. Perfect service!!! God bless you.

This hotel is fabulous! Location: located in the business district of panama. Within walking distance to many fast food restaurants, souvenir shops, nail salons, banks, etc. It's in the heart of the area. Short ride to nightlife (10 min. Max) and/or old panama (20 min). Also, we travelled 35 min to the beach area. We rented a car, which riu does charge for daily parking, but it's not too expensive ($5-10/day) Room- great views of the city, spacious, modern, and clean with good AC and a comfy b... Read more

The hotel is located in the best avenue of the city calle 50, close to restaurants, bars, banks, shopping centers and main companies, I just stayed one night, the last of my trip in Panama with my wife and it was really good price for the quality of the accommodation, I felt a bit disappointed with the issue you can not have the same price of their web page when you arrive directly, I had to spend some time doing the booking on line than paying the room directly in the hotel, But the rest was ... Great hotel experience. Hotel is at the center of Panama City so it's very accessible to all locations. Friends were able to pick me up and drop me off with no problem, except for the obvious Panama Traffic. My only gripe is that there was no microwave in the room.

Background: My favorite color is purple. I recently retired and kidnapped myself to celebrate. I am greeted at the door and escorted to the front desk. I'm liking this already. I get my key and I'm escorted to my room. I walk into my room and it is Purple!!!!! I am having to force myself out of this room. I love it. Breakfast buffet is filling for most of the day. My first evening, I walk around after dinner and hear Tango music. Oh yes I did!!! I sure did go ask folks to dance despite the l... Read more

Situated at the eastern point of the old fancy zone of the city ( Avenida Balboa and its sorrow Dings) Riy Plaza is at walking distance to Soho Mall - the fanciest in town ( Chanel, Dior, Prada, etc) and not far from Costa del a este, the new sky scraper area of the capital. Crowded ( many airline crews located here but also many groups from Iberia) Riu offers colored, spacious and modern rooms, a great buffet breakfast, a comfortable lounge bar and a cost pool area with a tapas bar. First, our room was not clean. While walking barefoot on the carpet your feet turned black on the bottom and you had to wash your feet prior to going to bed. The food was okay, but not exceptional. Last was the staff. We invited some friends to visit us while we were in their city. We went to the pool area and after a couple of hours of drinking teas and eating snacks, we invited the young adults to go swimming. The pool manager told us that there would be a $40 charge for having guests swim... Read more
