Hotel is about a 30-45 minute ride from the airport and located on the beach. The beach changes dramatically depending on the tide, so if looking for a beautiful beach to swim in at all hours, this probably isn't the best spot for you. You can also see the ships lining up to go through the canal which was pretty cool. There are numerous pools at the resort and I never had a problem finding chairs at any of them. The food is good, typical resort fare. I did not pay for the all inclusive plan, but... Read more

We stayed here after having an unacceptable experience at the smaller adults-only resort next door. Immediately upon arriving here we could see the difference in this much more friendly and professional resort. The staff here at the Westin were all incredibly friendly and would go out of their way to assist you. Amazingly, the entire staff seemed to be fluent in English as well. We couldn't have asked for better treatment. A huge added bonus: We were never approached by anyone on site in... Read more

The hotel infrastructure is good, the rooms are comfortable and clean with good housekeeping, But the wifi service is bad because we had to complain several times to help us to set the cell because they said we had to pay for it, but at the website says that is free. Also on the website says it has several restaurants, but unfortunately every day works only one for passengers going all inclusive and one paid. The service at the pool is bad, the waiters are too delayed and weekends do not want to... Read more

First time staying at the Westin and it was great! Quick ride from airport about half hour. The room and view was beautiful, clean and everything worked. The grounds are very well maintained and clean. Staff is very friendly and courteous. The service at the bar and restaurants was excellent. Staff is always willing to assist and make recommendations, especially Daylonis/pool area gave alot of insight on the country. The spa was amazing. Really enjoyed my stay and would recommend to anyone.

great stay for 4 days. Family friendly. Close enough to town (about 20 minutes) and far enough to be in the jungle and on the beach. It is off-season and slow but service, food, amenities were all great.

I stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. It is on the Pacific ocean coast outside of Panama city across the bridge of Americas. It's a huge hotel and provides good services like a big hotel. The staff is professional, helpful, smiling. The room I was in was spacious and comfortable, my room was with the ocean view.. Breakfast was big and sufficient, standard, I would say, as during my one week's stay in Panama I had the same breakfast in 3 hotels I stayed. Wifi worked well in my room. There is a saf... Read more

The restaurant is very nice, with a terrace located to one side of the swimming pool and an internal dining room with air conditioning. The service is good and very friendly people, however they need a little more of training. The menu is wide and varied, however the focus is in Angus beef steaks. The food was good and nice served. The wine card was short but with a good selection. The price was very high, so even though the dinner was very good and I really enjoyed, the relationship price-valu... Read more

Nice hotel and the staff were wonderful. I'm a bit surprised that such a new hotel was so rundown. Nice grounds too but the jungle wear and tear was significant. Cracks in the pool/swim up bar stools, room fixtures etc. Could be nice but needs some updates. I'm guessing all of the day passes to locals takes its toll on the facilities. Westin is still your best option for a beach hotel near the city as there are no Four Seasons/ St. Regis type options. We really enjoyed our stay overa... Read more

Nice property, clean, well appointed and fairly new. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beach is ok at high tide (low tide is really low so no swimming in the ocean during low tide). Restaurants are ok. not great not bad. Service is hit or miss in the restaurants one night not very good at all and the next night terrific. Location is good (18 min to the Casco Viejo 25 min to downtown.)

Not being a resort person myself, I was blown away by the hospitality and intimate feel at the Westin. The beach may not be the best looking, but the four pools, and genuinely accommodating staff absolutely make up for it. It's quaint, tranquil, and extremely hospitable. Maru, the concierge, was more than helpful with booking, and re-booking, trips and tours. Highly recommend staying here, big resort with that cozy, personalized vibe flowing through.

Only one thing (except the style of the main building which is in my opinion too `pompous`) was the sea and the beach. We stayed here two nights as part of our Caravan tour. It is a beautiful property. Rooms are nice and clean. We had a package that included all food and drinks including alcohol. It is right on the beach and has four beautiful pools. They had a fun water aerobics class. We had the day to ourselves and went beach combing and spent hours at the pool. We had buffet meals which were quite good. I could have stayed a couple more days and been very happy there.

If you want to stay at the beach in Panama City, you can't actually stay in the city. There are plenty of beautiful hotels in downtown Panama City. They have great concierges, access to great restaurants, and proximity to sights. For the beach, your only option is The Westin Playa Bonita Panama. The former Intercontinental further down the beach will re-open in October, 2016 as Dreams Playa Bonita. This may give the Westin a run for its money. Quick check in with a guy Cornelio, who took in account was my husband birthday, and gave us a good room, and little check out. The food pretty much better, so was the drinks. We had all inclusive plan. The hotel promenades are impecable. Room quite clean, well decorated with a wonderful view. Free Wifi in every where!.

Room, property and view was great. Had a Panamanian buffet dinner on Friday night and the food was a real treat and server Ismael de Sadas did a great job. Drawback to resort is all the food and drinks are real pricey and nowhere else to go. Gift shop doesn't even have snacks or any kind of drinks to buy. All staff was very friendly.

I do not speak the best spanish but Digna Ilda and Richard were always very helpful when we were by the pool. We will definetly be back!

The hotel is rather nice and we were upgraded to an ocean view suite. The breakfast is very impressive with excellent variety and good service. The pool water was bit too cool for our tastes. The location is remote so that means getting to/from the hotel for lunch, dinner, etc. was a bit difficult. This to-be-expected difficulty was greatly compounded by the hotel's refusal to call cabs for a guest. When Uber was not available, the hotel refused to assist in obtaining a cab. Instead, in an... Room: Very spacious, functionally, and well appointed (Oceanview suite) Hotel appearance is luxurious and has great facilities. Unfortunately, the advertised events are not always executed. At the same time, staff is very friendly and accommodating. Pool are very clean and nice. Hotel is in a very quiet area of Panama City and is a 5$ uber ride away from downtown Rooms are also very soundproof - one of the best i have seen. Combined with the heavenly beds from Westin, perfect for a good night sl... Read more

Good place if you don't want to go far from the city. Hotel is expensive for what you get. Food quality is poor. Service is very good overall. I want to outstand the service I receive at the main restaurant from Mr. Ismael De Sedas. He was so kind and supportive that was the best from the hotel.

Our family of 4 ( 2 adults / 2 young daughters) had a really nice time staying at the Westin Playa Bonita 11/19-11/27/16. Despite the wet and soggy tropical rain filled week, we managed to lounge at the pool on 2 different semi-sunny days. The Westin has 5 pools to choose from and all next to the beach. During those 2 relaxed filled days, we particularly enjoyed Richard Santaro's pleasant smile and gregarious demeanor while serving us. We had a great time in the sun, frolicking in the pool a... We spent a week at Westin Playa Bonita from Nov 21 to Nov 28. This was an amazing vacation. The moment we arrived at the hotel our luggage was taken and we were ushered to the check in counter, this process was very speed and within minutes were in our room, Raul took us to our room and explained all the features. He was very pleasant and courteous and assured us all our need would be taken care off. Since our arrival was at dinner time we rushed off to dinner at the buffet at Pacifica, the sta... Read more

My wife and I arrived in late November to a hotel that lacked all the customer services you would expect from a world class hotel chain. The staff appeared unconcerned with any care of making the guest feel welcomed or accommodated. The staff did not notify us of the executive lounge closing. This would not have been an issue if we did not pay extra for the services. No refund was offered until we requested one. furthermore we were told it was do to maintenance which turned out to be untrue as a... Read more

What a wonderful resort! Not overly crowded, great quality food and outstanding service! The rooms have great beds, big baths and are clean and well kept. I wished that I could have stayed longer. It is close to the city so really easy and away from the noise and pollution..really relaxing

It was our first time in Panama.November 14 -24,2016. We like to visit new places.Last time was Costa Rica so it was given-we are going to Panama. The Westin Playa Bonita had good reviews. When we arrived late afternoon there was only one person working @ the check in counter. Since Transat doesn't really feed you, we decided to have a drink at the bar before check in to our room.We have done it in almost all places that we visited in the past. Not this time. There was big conference taking place... Read more

We have two days left in Panama, but we wanted to review before we get back to our hectic lives. We want to thank everyone at the Westin Playa for an unbelievable holiday. Ayded our room was spotless and comfortable. The food was tremendous and plentiful. The Starfish restaurant was our favourite. The staff were very friendly and service was terrific. We spent a couple days touring Panama in the city and the jungle, both are well advised to check out. But our holiday was made by Gregory at the... Read more
