I must say that we nearly changed our booking after reading some of the reviews, but we're so glad we stayed and cannot wait to go back. Yes it is not a 5 star resort as some might expect, but there was everything that we needed for a well earned rest. We only ate at the buffets, as we like that type of eating when on holidays, not fancy restaurants. There was beautiful fresh fruits for breakfast and loads of different choices of hot and cold food. Lunch and dinner had great salad choices and ho... Read more

Vacations at the Royal Decameron Beach Resort were outstanding. We had an excellent time there. We had the opportunity to enjoy their pools, sights and restaurants. When we arrived to the reception area to do the check in, the receptionist seems to be a little bit lost. Hopefully we received a good room, right to a few steps toward the beach. Excellent!!! We could see a very good view and also some amusements that were held at night just at the front of our room's slide doors. Everything was clo... Read more

The last time I had been to Decameron, it was such an awful experience that I had vowed to be my last. However, my boss booked Decameron for a work related event so I attended along with my teammates. We were a group of 13 adults and stayed one night (Thursday-Friday) the first week of April. This time was better than the last. Sleep quality was definitely better, seeing as this time I didn't get a room that connected with the next through a thin wall and door, so I didn't hear my next room "ne... Read more

Honestly, we were expected so much more of this hotel, because we have been stayed in so many in Colombia. The people at the lobbies are very tough, they seem to be upset all the time. As the hotel is so big, we got wrong instructions all the time about the open restaurants for taking the breakfast and lunch so we had to walk so much... Instead of having taken the vans till the right restaurant. One night the light was gone and the electric plant took so much time to turn on.... So we were hav... Read more

There must have been some welcome bonus from this beautiful resort with birth day person, I tried to post anything on this topic, but no answers so far. Anyways, it is a very good and enjoyable place to stay in Panama. I am going to visit it again and stay one more week here.

I stayed at the Royal Decameron from April 11 - April 18th with my boyfriend. Flying from Toronto meant that we were actually only a maybe 10 minute drive from the airport which was great. Check in was definitely easy, it was all laid out already, all they needed was ID and you got your package. The rum punch they served at the check in was delightful, they served this again at the meeting the following morning, and I couldn't say no! The pools were great, but definitely try to get there early... Read more

Decameron is all you would expect from a top notch resort: excellent rooms, perfect paradisical grounds, multiple swimming pools including infinity pools both for families and adults only, entertainment, a pool and table tennis room, outdoor activities, etc But, and it's a small but: the food is ok. There's lots of it though. Just for the price I expected better quality.

We had the best time at this resort and we took a lot of beautiful pictures. Our ocean view room was a standard room nothing fancy but the view was beautiful. The resort is huge so you have plenty to do there if you decide not to go on any tours. There are many pools but only 1 swim up bar but it's adults only so that was a plus. The casino & disco were okay, nothing to brag about but with the group of people we were with we had an awesome time. Oh & although it's an all inclusive resort you... Read more

What an incredible trip this was. By far great service, everyone was so so friendly. The price you pay to stay here is worth it annnnd more! Great couples, and family friendly hotel. The restaurants were all delicious and definitely worth booking for the a la cartes. We requested a room close to the beach, and of course we got a room close walking distance to the beach. Hello, My family and I (including my elderly mother who uses a cane to walk) stayed at your hotel from June 9-10. We stayed in building 20 and had dinner reservations in the Pacifiko restaurant on June 9 at 7pm. We waked to lobby 2 and stopped to request a minibus to transport her to the restaurant, so she would be on time for the reservation. The gentleman called for one on his radio. We waited a bit and saw a minibus coming. He did not stop. We continued to wait, and another minibus sto... Read more

We went in 2015 and had a stellar time (I gave 5 stars). We returned in February 2016 and there were some very serious problems. (I will note here I have minimal Spanish but I do try) 1) Air Conditioning: ours kept shutting off after 30 seconds. We did not complain but opened sliding door.In the middle of the first night, security came by and said we had to lock it, so we sweltered. Turns out they were aware of the air conditioning problem and were planning to fix, so we stayed in the room, wh... Read more

I had an air conditioned one bedroom suite with king-sized bed (very comfortable), plasma TV (with cable), on-suite bathroom with living and dining area separated with half bathroom for visitors. The kitchen was a good size came with nice sized refrigerator, stove, utensils and microwave. The big perk overall was the washer and dryer that allowed us to do laundry at will. It was top 2... This hotel is just amazing, you can do whatever you want. It has too many restaurants so you can try one different every time you need to eat. The rooms are so comfortable. We really had a great time there. We spent two days in Panama City and then went to the beach cause is a little bit far away from the city so if you want to shop something in the city consider that is like 2 hours from there

This place has so Many stairs I thought I was at fat camp! The rooms are Tiny and outdated, not to mention all the sand in mattresses and I saw several bugs. They don't cover the food there and when I went to eat a piece of fruit I saw tiny red bugs in it. The grounds are very beautiful but the rooms and food are nasty. They make cheap bottom shelf drinks too. Customer service at front desk is non existent! Worst hotel stay EVER!

The physical beauty of the area made the trip worth it. The facility itself was marginal, the staff lacked good service skills. The food was blah. Check in was a nightmare. We arrived late Saturday evening. We had booked our stay through Expedia and paid in full prior to our arrival. Staff at check in couldn't understand our reservation and required us to to pay an additional $572 to get a room, telling us that they would refund our money on Monday, after they verified our reservation. Such a beautiful resort! Friendly staff, great food and beautiful beach! Only downside was that barely any staff spoke English and the service at the a la carte restaurant cafe med was so slow it took the guy 30 minutes before we had to flag him down and tell him our order and then an hour later ask him if our food was almost ready. That was really the only downside though, otherwise it was an amazing resort with so much to do!

Staff were all hardworking. The resort is extremely clean. They have staff just for that. The beach is great. The pools are great plenty of room for everyone. We ate over the Mediterranean restaurant, the staff Tobarias did an excellent job with my family, his recommendation was very good and to the point. Food was very tasty portion were good also the have like a soup bar. We will be back in the next year or so, couldn't take too many pictures too busy in the water.

This was a last minute booking and we got a villa close to the main building. Lots of walking and stairs not good for people with mobility issues but there is shuttles. Staff was friendly, night entertainment not as good as other places I have visited. It was a little dated but was clean. Food was average with no variety and the buffets required a reservation. I have never heard of that before. Nice beach, weather was great.

My husband and I spent the week of July 15 to 22 at this incredibly spread out resort. Overall this resort, at least in our opinion, is between a 3 and 4 stars and the kind of experience that you are going to have really depends on if you are a couple or a family. This is also an off-season review. Pros: - Although this was an Air Transat Vacation package, we flew with Sunwing both ways.
