Good location in the centre, adjacent to the Torg shopping centre. Clean rooms; comfortable beds, (most?) bathrooms have walk in showers rather than a bath. Good wi-fi. Friendly and knowledgeable reception staff. A large Egon restaurant on the ground floor is used for breakfast - self service - good selection of cold meats and the hot food includes fried eggs, bacon, sausage/meatballs. Omelettes can be ordered. An airport bus stop is a two minute walk away. A short taxi ride to NTNU.

Near by everything you need in a city :) Good hotell - the Nidarosdomen is just around the corner. Its shoppingsenter Trondheim torg near by. This is my first time going on hotel in Trondheim. I dont know everything its around yet - must explore more.

A very nice hotel, with very friendly staff in a great location, close to loads of bars and restuarants! The only thing I would say is if you are staying in the summer go for a room at the back of the hotel as there is no air conditioning and our room was very hot as the sun was shining in all day, very uncomfortable! Very good breakfast with loads of choice, would stay here again if we were in the area.

Was here in Trondheim and stayed here for one night. The room was very clean but a little chilly. Wifi is free . The breakfast was really good. As the hotel is so centrally located you can take all the buses to different parts of the city. Also the hotel is close to the old town so you can easily just take a walk around. Highly recommended and will definitely be here the next time.

Very central location, still quiet. Parking in backyard. Friendly staff. A very good alternative in Trondheim. Breakfast is on a general good level, not overwhelming varieties offered, but what you need before your start for the day.

Centrally situated this modern hotel can at best be described as average. My bathroom was poorly designed and it proved impossible to contain the shower water in the room. There was a nasty small step at the side of the shower area. The bedroom was adequate. Room servicing trolleys are parked in the corridor at all times. Buffet breakfast is served in the adjacent Egon restaurant which is cramped and poorly set out. A code number is required to enter the public area toilet facilities.

Stayed for two nights with my husband and 3 children aged 11, 12 and 15. The business rooms are spacious and actually fitted all five of us comfortably. Parking available NOK 150 per night. Breakfast with ample choice incl hot dishes. Nicely appointed room with tea/coffee making facilities, minibar, comfortable beds etc. One side of the hotel is facing a busy road. If visiting during summer (when you might want to open the windows), I recommend requesting room facing the quite side. And high up.... Read more

Nice and modern rooms, the breakfast is served in the Egon restaurant just adjacent to the hotel lobby. It was a bit disappointing that the hotel's parking area was full when we arrived, but the guy at reception was very helpfull to find another parking not so far away. The location is very central, just a few minutes walk from the cathedral.

Where to begin. This hotel really made me grumpy. Clearly some travellers are wet behind the ears as they seem to think the Thon is actually a good option.  1. The breakfast is like a battlefield. Not enough space, poorly designed Egon's doubling as a breakfast lounge. On the way to the room on arrival and at breakfast and every other time, the narrow corridors of the old part of the building were an obstacle course of housekeeping trolleys and inexplicable wide-open doors of guest rooms and... We stayed at the Thon Prinsen twice, for two nights upon arriving in Trondheim by train from Oslo, and again for one night a week later after our road trip through Nordland before we took the train back to Oslo. The hotel is centrally located and in easy walking distance to the major attractions (Cathedral, Old Town Bridge, Old Town, the ferry terminal to Munkholmen Island, et al. The breakfast buffet is good, but was very crowded when we were there. The restaurant is also good, but was crazy... Read more

I stayed in a room for 4 people and one of the double beds was actually a really small sofa. In addition, the room did not have any big light, only small ones next to the bed. The water in the shower was extremely hot and did not change temperature. On the other hand, it is located right in the city centre, offers the best breakfast buffet I have ever seen (they even had banana chips) and a free coffee machine! So overall, mixed feelings about the stay

We arrived in the afternoon. Check in went fast (I appreciate that). Nice room, delicate. Nice people in the reception As this was a Saturday it was a bit noicy outside in the night when people should go home. We had room with view out on the main street . Breakfast was outstanding, and so where the people working in the breakfast area! I would not hesitate to stay there again!

Very friendly people working in the reception, spacious rooms and very central. The breakfast is tasteful and it is very convenient to have a meal downstairs at Egon. Shopping close by and many good restaurants.
