This hotel is placed at a very central location in Trondheim. So if you arrive by plain, you get just a couple of hundred meters walking from the airport bus to be at the hotel. One of the things that boosted my experience is the nice, helpful, polite and friendly people at the reception. For me it was a bit disappointing that my room 211 had a rather boring view to the backyard, but being on a business trip you don't study the view THAT much.... Clean room with everything needed for working and... Read more

Ok, this hotel has been there for some time, but with different names. It's centrally located, they serve a evening buffet, but it could be somewhat noisy if you're there to sleep (ask to get a room away from the street). It's not been really refurnished for some time, so expect a room with wall-to-wall carpeting and a 80s bathroom... The breakfast room is NOT very cosy, and the breakfast selection is basic+ (Norwegian standard..) Cleaning: Ok Space: Very good in my room Room comfort: An armcha... Read more

We chose this hotel due to its relatively high rating on various travel sites. After staying there for a weekend I cannot understand what we missed. There was hair from the last guest in the shower, and soap along the shower walls. The breakfast was mayhem with far too few tables for the number of guests, and when I asked the staff whether they could open another conference room for space, we were told to eat in the reception. Some guests waited fifteen minutes for a table. They were also unable... Read more

I stayed four nights at this centrally located hotel in Trondheim. Staff very helpful, and my room was very large with a separate sofa group! Guess I just was lucky? No large roads around the hotel, but you hear people talking on street if window open. Good breakfast, and free bread based evening meal! No sport facilities, and rooms and corridors should soon be painted - but still highly recommended!

Unfortunately they haven't done a thing to change in the period. Staff were marginally polite and the breakfast arrangements were chaotic and unpleasant. Hotel building is still interesting and the location is excellent. But I'll be staying somewhere else in future.

The hotel was very good value, especially as the rate included a buffet dinner. The building was an old bakery which had been converted to make an attractive and cosy hotel. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming, although it felt a little understaffed at times in the dining area. We had a generous sized room overlooking a side street on two sides of the room. This proved to be a problem at night, due to a noisy bar nearby with people drinking in the street. The sound proof... This is a straight forward hotel with modestly sized rooms, a competent bathroom and good lighting, especially nice lamps for reading in bed. It is quiet. The breakfasts are competent as are the afternoon waffle breaks and dinners. If only there were a safe in the room and our hotel door would have locked without one having to shove on it when we left, the rating would go up a notch. Our concern that the maid would not shove the door as we had to do, left us worried that the door would rem... Read more

I visited two years ago and was delighted to see that the hotel was still just as good. I had a lovely quiet room at the back with a window overlooking the courtyard, and once again enjoyed the waffles, serve yourself/buffet included dinner and facilities like the sauna, rooftop patio and gym. Location is excellent to all parts of Trondheim. I would stay there again in a blink of an eye. I accidentally left clothes in the wardrobe and staff happily sent them on for me. Thanks Bakkeriet!

This hotel is great example of well done combination of clever idea done with human touch - heart. Place where travellers may feel truly welcome... I had arrived just before midnight in drizzling, windy night in shorts as I have reached flight from hot Prague and thought weather may be fine in Trondheim too. By the time of train final stop at Trondheim main station I have noticed that temperature had dropped from hot Prague oven to local freezer. Somehow I had managed short walk through strong ... I really believe this could be an extraordinary hotel. I might have been visiting in a busy time. Of course I understand if they had inexperienced personel during summertime. I have only stayed at one room, but it felt a bit "worn" out(deluxe room). But if this is cause I brought my dog, I can live with it. I'm very happy that choice hotels are dogfriendly :-) a few changes, and it's great! Cool environment !
