What's not to like? Great staff at the front desk, nice clean rooms and an excellent restaurant serving meals. The breakfast buffet was excellent too and I can't tell you how many times I've wanted a shooter of cod oil to start my day! Stay here now!

We stayed in a Deluxe Double for one night during a recent business trip to Stavanger. The hotel is centrally located - within walking distance of the old town and shopping areas. We found a parking garage adjacent to the building. Reception was warm and friendly. The public areas are large and decorated in a modern style. Open fires kept the spaces warm. Our room wasn't ready upon our lunchtime arrival, so we stored our luggage and went for a walk to see some of the sights. An hour later... Read more

Stayed at the Clarion Hotel Stavanger for a major conference in May 2016. The Clarion Hotel is located in the centre of Stavanger within easy walking distance to the popular area â??Skagenâ?? in downtown Stavanger. During the stay the hotel was hit by a labour dispute impacting all hotels in Norway. This meant that only a very small staff was available. None the less the small and hard working - but still friendly and helpful - staff managed to get the hotel running without impacting the gues... Read more

This hotel is situated in an excellent location and everything is within walking distance. The Airport bus drops you virtually on the doorstep and the return journey pick up is just around the corner in front of the Radisson hotel. Rooms are clean, and have basic facilities however there is an iron and ironing board if needed in the wardrobe. Our stay was affected by the hotel workers strike. No information given on checkin over this and we only found details stuck to the walls in the lift!! Roo... Read more

This was our third time at this hotel, which is a decent hotel in Stavanger with good location to walk to the city center shops and restaurants. This time we had a complimentary stay using bonus points. The staff is very nice and welcoming, The standards rooms maybe a tad small, but quite adequate. Wifi is complementary. The breakfast here is amazing! Perfect for slow start in the morning!

The reception staff had a warm greeting on arrival but also when leaving and arriving back at the end of the day which made for an enjoyable stay. I was offered a superior room which had everything a modern hotel could offer for business or pleasure. I did not dine in as the hotel is only two minutes walk away from the harbourside bars and restaurants but the breakfast buffet was excellent with plenty of choice. The hotel is also only a 12 minute walk from the Fiskepir Terminal for anyone con... Read more

We stayed for 3 nights at the Clarion Hotel Stavanger, Stavanger, Norway, 2 family rooms (6 persons) and we're very disappointed with the service the hotel provided. During our stay the room has not been cleaned once, the trash was not taken out nor were the towels replaced. This is a 4 star hotel, and we understand we arrived with some kind of a strike going on, but sometimes the "I'm sorry" is not enough. I can go on and on about the things that didn't work out during our stay, the restaurant ... Read more

Out of all the places we stayed in our 2 week trip, this was the highlight. The location is ideal for walking into the old town and harbor area. The breakfast is amazing and rooms are very comfortable!

Spent several nights at Clarion. Room was quite small and the closet space was even smaller. Key card was a hassle, had to change it every day. Also you had to lock your room door with the card, which was quite stupid. Breakfast buffet was large with plenty to choose from. Location walking distance from the center. Despite the key, I could stay here again.

I've stayed with the Clarion Hotel 3 Junes in a row now and each visit is consistently good. Rooms are small, but very well appointed and quiet. Breakfast is my favorite in Europe. Location is a 5 minutes walk uphill from the harbor. Most corporate offices and restaurants are walking distance. The industrial part of town is probably 30-45 minutes by car. Rooms on the harbor side give a great view of the harbor, if the floor is high enough. I save money and stay on the opposite side.

Customer service could have been better and more welcoming or friendly. The lady who checked us in wasn't so friendly and wasn't speaking properly (maybe she didn't know much of english). Hotel has great location and decent rooms, but maybe they need to update the bathrooms, they are old looking. Comfortable bed. Good selection of tv channels. Breakfast was really good, especially the egg omelette the chef made.

Rooms are very basic and shampoo not included in bathroom. Rooms are very small and beds are uncomfortable. Despite having a key card, the doors are not self locking and the staff does not inform guests of this so many rooms are just left unlocked. Hotel is ~5 min walk from the tourist attractions so a decent location but if had a choice would have picked a different hotel.

We came to spend time at the city to watch FK Viking and made the Clarion Hotel our base. It was a very friendly hotel in a great location. The breakfast was very good and room was clean and well appointed. Maje sure you hire the GoBikes outside the hotel to explore the City - great fun!

I stayed at the Clarion in Stavanger at two occasions during the same week. The check-in was straightforward and friendly. Also, the breakfast is wonderful. The Deluxe rooms are well laid out and have most amenities a traveller could wish for. Unfortunately, the rooms were, on several occasions, dusty. In every room we had, the decorative pillows were stained and dirty. In some rooms, furniture like the couch was dirty and stained. Amenities like soap or bath robes were available. Sometimes not.... We stayed in Stavanger for one night to do the Preikestolen hike. The hotel location is great, just about 5 min walk from the city center, train station, or ferry boat. The bus to the ferry for Preikestolen also stops in front of the hotel every morning. The check in was effortless and the luggage storage room they offered at check out was very convenient as we had a late train to Oslo. Just about to check out and go further north so just a quick review. Thought id give the info people are looking for when thinking of booking. It will be in a list form. With positives and negatives. Parking underground nearby in an expensive car park. A walk uphill from the town, but manageable. On quite a busy road and noisy if your room is on that side. 14 floors quick lifts though. The welcome was very friendly, and in general front-desk staff was very helpful. That cannot cover up that this "new" hotel is in a somewhat older building, though. I do not know who designed the rooms, but the room I had cannot have been designed by someone who stays a lot in hotels. I have stayed at other Clarion hotels without a real locker - but then there has been a stand to hang your clothes on. Here there was in fact a small, narrow locker - placed in the middle of the wall, so it still ... Read more

Good bar and bar man who seems to double up as restaurant manager and waiter. The food was good. Does seem understaffed. "Comfort hôtel" Is the entry, "Quality hôtel" the middle and "Clarion + Ascend" are the highest in the range. ALL have roughly NO storage for clothes. So fine for one night if hou have a backpack, a short, a shirt and one underwear. Not for longer Holidays....

This hotel is well presented in a true Nordic style. Lots of blond wood earth tonings and has quite an ambient feel. Staff are really helpful, especially one chap we came across at breakfast. Stayed here on a recent trip to see my beloved Arsenal. Located handily for town. Standard hotel room which was clean and well presented if a little small. Breakfast spread was extensive. But the thing that set this place apart was how friendly the staff were and I would make a particular mention of the reception staff who were friendly and ultra helpful. Would recommend a stay here.

Hotel is well located near the harbour where the major fjord excursions depart. Also, very close to shops, restaurants, museums and historical places. Not easy to find when driving into the city and, for some reason, the car gps didnot register the hotel address. Stayed two nights when visiting Stavanger as a tourist. The hotel has got everything you need for pretty much any type of stay. My room was nice and functional, with a view overlooking downtown Stavanger. The breakfast buffet is really good, and if you just ask the staff they will cook you an omelette and pancakes (which of course can be accompanied by real Canadian maple syrup).
