Stayed 2 nights in the weekend at a very favourable price. The hotel was quite busy, many families. The reception staff was friendly enough. My single room was quite small, but had everything I needed, except a cup (there was a hospitality tray for tea and coffee, but no cup). There is no minibar, as expected in a Thon Budget hotel. The room and bathroom were impeccably clean. The bed was comfortable. No traffic noise. The furniture in the breakfast room was simple and unattractive, but the brea... Read more

Nothing fancy. Small rooms which are very clean and decently furnished. Basic but good breakfast buffet. A bit noisy on weekends. No extra services on premises but the location is very central. Staff is friedly and helpful.

This is a budget hotel. Rooms are smallish, and if your room faces the street it can be a bit noicy. However the rooms are clean, the internet works well, the breakfast is good with a large variety of dishes to chose. The location close to the train station is great, althoug the surroundings close to the main entrance is a bit odd (some drunk people loitering around). For the price the hotel is a good choise.

It was a perfect room. Very good. Happynes for a visit in the Capital of Norway. We like it very much you see. I hope to visit this hotel some other time. It is very good for concerts at Spectrum and visit to the Opera area.

Clean and no nonsence hotel with good location for my use. I mostly use this hotel when I need a bed in Oslo. Short distance to the railwaystation, and good restaurants nearby. Good shoppingfasilitys too.

The location of the hotel is very good, although it is a rather noisy environment in the weekend. When you have a room in front of the hotel, you will have a lot of noise. Unfortunately, the room does not offer airco. During my stay, the weather was great, so airco would have come handy. Not everyone on the staff is friendly. The breakfast, on the other hand, surpassed my expectations: a lot of choice of fresh food.

Really good location in city center. Well-trained and friendly staff on reception desk. Proper buffet breakfast. Ordinary rooms, but the window (from floor to ceiling) was really nice. Good value for the money (but, of course, Oslo is overpriced)

I walked to this hotel from Oslo station which should have taken no more than 10 minutes, however unlike the other Thorn hotels in Oslo, this one proved hard to find and was in a area of the city that I would rather have avoided late at night. The receptionist was very friendly and efficient and access to the room, number 406, again straight forward. The corridors look well used but the room was fine. The bed was comfortable, the temperature was higher than I like hence I opened the window w... Read more

Stayed at the Thon Spectrum (don't judge all Thon hotels in Oslo on this review, there's a lot of them in this city) for a business stay. It's not located at the best part of town, but it's certainly no pandemonium out there. Let's just say it's a reasonably priced place to stay in this very expensive city. The good thing is: this hotel kinda forces you to get out and enjoy the city as staying indoors will definitely increase your chances on depression. An example: The hallways, though spacious... Cozy rooms, clean. A little small. Easy to access from Central Train station if you use Rick Steve's directions to follow to the hotel. There are many Thon Hotels in Oslo; when we got lost in other parts of town, we'd go into another Thon hotel to ask for help. All were helpful. Excellent breakfast at this one. Good value for money.

This is a hotel that can be a good choice if you just need a place to sleep. Very central location, but not much noise from the outside. Rooms are not very big or very luxurious, but decent. Good service and cleaning! Breakfast is mediocre, could be a lot better with just a little bit more effort. At late hours, it is not the most attractive part of the city to walk in, it must be said.

A comfortable hotel nera the Central Station. Cosy, clean and nice, though it does not have any parking for busses - the nearest seems to be miles away, so it is a little bit painfull if you come there with a group. Park for a moment at the Radisson nearby and let the group walk (approx 200 m). It does not have any restaurant either, although the brekfast service is fine

The location, while close to the central train station, was a bit dodgy (federal agents were shaking down immigrants for documentation just outside the front door as we were heading out in the morning). The rooms were somewhat dirty with poor lighting and even poorer ventilation. They really need to clean the carpets and put some color in the hallways to liven up the place some, otherwise it will always look like your visiting the Man in the projects. That said, the staff were extremely friendl... Read more

Our first choice for overnight accommodations was not available on a Saturday, so we booked The Spectrum because of the family room, the price (NOK 1,047), and the distance from the Central Station (about 6 or 7 minutes walking). It is a budget hotel, in many ways similar to Ibis, and the rooms have the basic amenities - TV, desk, small wardrobe, hair dryer etc. The room (506) faced the back, with a view of a parking garage, but it was quiet and with the window open you didnâ??t hear the stre... A comfortable and clean hotel close to Central station and walking distance to Karl Johans gate. I was able to check in early because there was a room available. The breakfast buffet is amazing with a great selection, veggies, fresh fruit, smoked fish, salmon, meats, bread, etc. Staff is friendly and help you was much as they can.

Rooms in recently renovated wing nice Clean, big lcd tv, refrigerator, safe, comfortable new beds and pillows. Shower a little small but still bearable. Comfortable and spacious for single user, but only just nice for 2 pax Breakfast range decent Location is quite convenient, about 8 mins walks to the Oslo S main train station 7eleven and shopping centers and food outlets just 1 minute away. Small drawback is the locale, doesn't feel perfectly safe at night with some foreigners lurking aro... Read more

But therefore also fully exploited so small rooms, a lot of people and traffic and little space in the common room. Perfectly fine place to sleep, but not a hotel feel for relaxation. Shortest path to Spektrum concert hall so easy way if you are going to a concert

Just a few minutes from the centralstation and towncenter, a small problem getting in and out of the shower because of the high bathtub. Very god bed and a huge smart-tv whit internett Access. Close to several good resturants.

The hotel is going through a renovation and we had one of the new rooms. Rooms are very spacious, modern and comfortable. Very centrally located, close to the Oslo S train station and Karl Johan street (all walking distance). The front desk staff were extremely helpful in giving us directions on how to get to places. Pastries and coffee available in the lobby at all times. We only stayed for one night and couldn't try the complimentary breakfast.
