While the hotel itself is decent, i have not seen such bad wifi across Scandinavia. You cant even download your mails let alone watch something on the internet. Even the receptionist had no resolution to this and admitted that the wifi is like this across the hotel

The hotel is close to Slottsparken (The royal garden), situated in a building with strong elements of Art Deco. The interior is quite bland, and the room I got (in the basement), looked nothing like the pictures presented on the hotel's website; large, but very uninspiring, and with a seventies style bathroom clearly in need of a revamp. Constructions going on in the backyard, starting at 6.30 a.m., so forget about sleeping late. Ok breakfast, staff ok but somewhat absentminded.

Great experience with front desk employees who were kind, patient, and knowledgeable regarding the multiple questions we asked them Great breakfast, nice room and overall, a fine experience. Would recommend a stay at this hotel.

The room was spacious with a little kitchenette (kettle, hob, microwave, fridge & sink), a living area with flat screen TV, table & chairs and sofa bed, plenty of wardrobe space and a small en suite shower room. Great location overlooking the park/palace and The breakfast is extensive - huge variety catering for most tastes - and the staff very helpful and friendly. Downside: the room was pretty soulless, which is fine for a couple of nights, but after a few weeks the lack of colour ... Read more

At five o'clock in the morning work started at the adjacent place, moving metals around and making a lot of noise, that woke me up and could not go back to sleep. So i was tired for the rest of the day and for an important meeting. The rooms are in need of an update (or rather significant if including the little kitchen). Breakfast was good and staff was professional.

Very nice service, good rooms and a perfect location right by the palace grounds. Most attractions of the city can be visited from here on foot. The train, bus and metro station "National Theatre" is just a few minutes away. Highly recommended. I'm always happy here.

Location is ok if one arrives with train there are better choices. Lots of green around the hotel nice to go for a run. Rooms need an upgrade I had a quiet worn bathroom - also the kitchen in the room looked quite old. In addition the TV was very small and far away from sofa and bed. Ok with gym and sauna that's a plus. Breakfast is standard- other hotels of the same chain can have a wider choice.

This was just a one night stop over so the central location was convenient - it's right next to a lovely park too. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was decent, but the room I had could really do with some work. Don't get me wrong they weren't terrible, and one of the other rooms I saw was actually very modern - but my room looked like it hadn't been decorated in years and the bed wasn't great.

It was too costly for the facilities provided. The washroom was not upto the mark. Room was average which they cal special room. The design of the room was not great. I have too say that I paid too much for the facilites.

Hotel is located next to the palace grounds; convenient to downtown, restaurants, train station, waterfront, shopping & many attractions. Well equipped, clean, large rooms w/ kitchenette. Rooms rented on various floors were identical. Hotel chosen to be away from the Karl Johans 'party' noise, but construction work on the adjacent building began before 7AM everyday except Sunday. Also the delivery traffic in the alley was loud. It was unseasonably hot & w/ no AC, we opened the windows which we e... Read more

The hotel is ok, got a nice large room with a comfortable bed. What drags it down is that they do not have a restaurant so when coming late at night I had to go out and search for one. The breakfast was also so and so.

First room I received was with really bad smell, not working fridge with water inside, at the end of nowhere where there was no wifi signal. For that kind of hotel you expect something more. In plus could be nice staff and quick change of the room but in new one there were some other things broken as f.e hair dryer (and no kitchen provided) Breakfasts were ok but having some comparison not that good as in other places in neighbourhood

We travelled as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids, 14 and 8). The room was perfect! There was a living area with a table and pull-out couch, a separate room, divided by a wall, but no door, a small but spotless bathroom and a small kitchenette. The location was perfect - right across the street from the palace gardens, with a nice Italian restaurant and a convenience store around the corner. It is a 15 minute stroll to the waterfront, and 5 minutes to the National Art Gallery. Although if you ... Read more

If you choose to stay in this hotel I would suggest to only book direct to be certain of which room you will be assigned. Not to book via a package or through a travel agent. We booked a package through alpharooms and were allocated what must be the worst room in the hotel. We had a 4 foot ( not full size 4.6) double bed with the thinnest mattress imaginable. We had requested 2 single beds but evidently alpharooms had not passed this information through to the hotel and when we got there the ho... Read more

This hotel is located very close to the royal palace about 10-15 minutes walking from the Central Station. Rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. Prices are usually quite good for this hotel, at least when I was there.

My family has stayed there twice on visits to Oslo. We love it. It's only a five minute walk from the Royal Palace! Yes, it's not in downtown Oslo, but that's only a 15 minute walk away. And that means it's quieter. The facility is up to date with wi-fi, flat-screen TVs, and lots of electrical sockets. But best of all is the free breakfast buffet. Amazing: it has everything you could possibly want and in dozens of varieties. Want traditional Norwegian cheese, meat, and bread? There's 7... Read more

This hotel has average rooms. The first room we had was poor with a bed that dipped heavily in the middle, but they quickly changed our room to a better one when we asked. Bathrooms are dated but the bed was eventually comfortable. Breakfast here is good. Staff are good. Location is great for the main attractions of Oslo, all in approx 10-25 mins walking distance. Saves in taxi's as Oslo is an expensive city! Great location of you are running the Oslo marathon
