Stayed two nights. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was efficient and friendly. The breakfast was good too. i have no problem recommending this hotel to others if you need a place close to the city centre.

This is my fourth or fifth stay in a Thon Hotel. They became my first choice when I come to Norway. Panorama, in Oslo, fits the pattern: comfortable, good service, close to the centre, 10 min walk or less from Central Station. Very much a standard style, but nevertheless with some appointments of individuality. Really a unique experience? No, it is not. A safe value? Yes, it surely is.

Great view over the harbour. Close to the city centre and close to the station. No noise at my floor. Breakfast could have been more varied. Clean rooms. Great and friendly service. Possible to get a discount if staying mutiple nights.

I believe Thon are a basic (plus) hotel - but this hotel exceeded that expectation. I had room 302 (see photo) which was a corner room so pretty big, with double width balcony at front. Wardrobe, mini bar, sofa bed & huge tv over the main bed, which was a little soft - although I think this is the Norwegian style. En suite was a little cramped with shower powerful but a little small. However, the polite staff, incredible breakfast & fantastic location (5 mins from each of Oslo Central "S" st... Read more

Nice hotel with good service. Close to train station, Aker Brygge, Operahuset, a lot of restaurants +++. Check-in was quick done. Breakfast with quality food. Coffee and warm waffles, and a newspaper after breakfast became a daily routine. Will definitively use this hotel again.

Great location, well run hotel, excellent breakfast, not too big, would recommend to good friends and would/will stay again. Close to great Irish pub. We were able to walk everywhere easily. We were there on 17 May. Great place to be for convenient access to everything.

In our room- superior- the bathroom was much to small. Could not get a nice shower after a day walking around the town. We had to hang our clothes by the bed or keep it our bags. Our friends also had a superior-room thet a a nicer bedroom and bathrrom. be sure to ask for this. I will if I am going to vissit this hotell an other time. Nice staff, very nice breakfast .

We stayed here for one night in June with our 3 children. We got a family room (no 305) and it was huge! Although we had five beds there was still a lot of space, and the bathroom was much bigger than our own at home. Added to that was a nice balcony facing a small yard. The hotel is situated 5-6 minutes from the train station, where you can get to the airport in just 20 minutes, and the famous Karl Johan was just some blocks away. All day round you could have a cup of coffee or tea for free i... Read more

We stayed there only one night. Did not use much of its facility but the room is fine. The service is excellent. We needed to leave early to catch a early train, and would not make the breakfast; the staffs there were so nice to make us breakfast bags to go at 5:30 AM; really appreciate that! Location is good; very close to both train station and opera house (MUST VISIT).

Stayed for one night, and was upgraded to a suite as it was part of our honeymoon. the desk staff were great, the hotel itself was absolutely fine, but felt a little soul-less. Seemingly geared toward business travelers. The room was massive. Two flat screen TVs, balcony overlooking the city, kitchen, sofa, breakfast bar... I've lived in smaller flats! Nice little place, with a decent selection of complimentary teas and coffees.

My favorite hotel in Oslo. If it's just for a night or a weekend. It's just outside the noisy area around Karl Johan. I have a favorite kind of room, one of the familyroom with washing macine, micro, cooking-top (if I remember right) fridge and a lot of space. Most of the rooms at this hotel have balconies. I usually ask for 5. floor looking at an old and nice backyard (some of it from the 16th century I think). This time; 12. floor and corner-room (businessroom) a great view over Oslo harbour a... My title sums up my overall impression of the hotel. They have eye masks to give you once you say something - or at least the second staff person we spoke with us offered us masks, the first offered us nothing - so they know it's a problem when you have mostly floor to ceiling Windows yet they don't add blinds. I don't get it. And several of the room lights didn't work. And they advertise the rooms as comfortably sleeping 4 with photos that imply 2 beds. It turns out it's a bed and a pull out ... Read more

We only stayed a weekend and had the basic room that didn't include a living area or kitchen. The bed was comfortable and good size room. The shower was small though and the shower door kept hitting the tiolet when opening it. We were on the 4th floor and our windows faced the main street. Lots of noise from people leaving the bars around 4am and just cars driving by. The breakfast was really good - wide selection of meats, cheeses, and they even served waffles. We probably won't sta... Read more

Worthy its price , only taking in mind the high prices in Oslo. The rooms are rather tiny and those overlooking the street are very noisy . The light that comes in the room through the curtains during the long "summer nights " does not allow you to sleep . The staff is very helpful . The area around is interesting and easy to move .

This comfortable hotel has a convenient location, about 6 blocks walk from the Central Train Station, walking distance from many sites and on a major bus route. We had a pleasant room of good size with a balcony overlooking the courtyard and a huge deck in back. No AC but windows and doors on two sides gave good ventilation, helpful since the weather was warmer than usual. Effective blackout curtains helped us recover from jetlag and adjust to the long hours of sunlight (hint: if the weather is... Read more

So many problems with this hotel, I highly suggest looking elsewhere. We arrived at the Thon Panorama at night. The woman at the desk was very curt and seemed annoyed that we were there to check in. The description of the room said that it slept 4. We were very surprised that it was one bed. The woman at the front desk said she could get us a sheet for the pull out couch. When we got to the room, the lights weren't working. Nothing was connected to any of the wall switches. There were no blinds ... Read more

Breakfast! Huge assortment, plenty of food, easy to get what you wanted. This was probably the highlight of the hotel. Solid (not great) location kind of right between all the important stuff (like in the center of a triangle with the train station, the castle, and the wharf/city hall being the vertices). It's definitely walkable to all the main stuff. Clean and everything worked. Internet connection was good, including being able to use the Internet on the TVs, which was convenient and fun for ... This hotel is at a good location, has good rooms, and a good breakfast. Big variation in the types of rooms offered, so can be worthwhile, both standard hotel rooms, but also huge family rooms and rooms with possibility of cooking your own food.

Stayed here 3 nights on a familyvacay on mid july. We had a businessroom, which has one bedroom and livingroom with sofabed. We decided to put the children to the bedroom, and sleep in the livingroom ourselves, cause we ofcourse stayed up a bit later. After the first night we had to reorganize the sleeping, cause the sofabed was nicely said, horrible.. so we took the mattress out on the floor, and put the sofa back up. Then it was ok. Some blackening curtains would be a big improvement, but... Read more

Spacious, with a very comfy and big bed, TV, free wi-fi, fridge, balcony. Some rooms have a small kitchenette, with microwaves, dish washing machine, electric stove, and all the stuff from a kitchen :). The bathroom is nice and modern, big, with hairdryer, free toiletries. Our family of 4 was happy to have a room that there was a place to sit other than the beds. It was so nice to have a kitchen set up and a separate bedroom. We stayed here at the start of our Scandinavian holiday and at the end 2 weeks later. It worked out perfectly as the room was a good size for 3 of us (2 adults and 1 teenager) and we had a great view of the opera house. We requested the same room for our return trip (1105) and the staff kindly accommodated us. The room had a mini kitchen which is really useful in Norway as eating out is so expensive. The Thon Panorama provided a fine home base for two nights in Oslo. The breakfast was the best offered as far as variety and arrangement of food during two weeks of Norway travel. Appreciated the coffee and tea available all day. While the bedroom was small, there was a sitting room/kitchen that made for a nice setup. The microwave and refrigerator could be handy though it was not fully stocked for food preparation if one wanted to cook. Small bathroom. Helpful staff. The room would have been qu... Read more

We stayed at several hotels during our recent trip to Norway, including others in the Thon chain, and this was our favorite. Like other Thon hotels it was really well located, clean, good value, and served an amazing breakfast -- anything you could imagine wanting to try with freshly prepared ingredients.
