I loved my stay at this hotel. Very friendly reception staff who allowed us to check in early as we had an early flight. Free tea and coffee in the lobby which was a very welcome treat! The hotel is decorated in a modern and clean style; the bedrooms were simple and comfortable with all amenities you would need including minibar/fridge, kettle and tea/coffee. The beds were very comfortable, ideal if you like a softer mattress. The bathroom we had was a wetroom with heated floor, which was perfe... Read more

This hotel gives good value for money. The breakfast is nice with a good selection, the room was clean and had more than enough space. The location in the city center is excellent, with all necessary means of transport within walking distance. A lot of good restaurants nearby. No excessive noise. Good service. The Wi-Fi connection could have been better.

We were lucky to get a great price at this hotel (NOK 800 per night for a double room). The hotel is perfectly located - our room towards the back of the building was perfectly quiet, but everything is the city is very close. This place is easy to find, and it's not far away from anything. The staff were very friendly. Our room was OK - not as clean as I would expect, and it was not very practical. For example there were no bed-side tables and not enough places to hang towels and clothes. The TV... Read more

My main requirement when looking for a hotel for a business trip is a clean and quiet place to sleep with decent wi-fi. The wi-fi was okay but not super fast. The breakfast was delicious, although food in the restaurant for dinner was nothing special. The main problem was noise from the tram running in the street outside which made a loud noise every few minutes until around 11pm. Beware of this if you need to go to bed early. When asked for a different room, the staff was unable to help me beca... Read more

The hotel itself is dated and doesn't therefore leave a very positive impression. I stayed in a suite, and the size of the room, the view over park, as well as the recently renovated bathroom with a large tub and a separate shower cabin were very nice. Overall the suite was recently refurbished. However, there were hardly any electrical outlets and the bedside lamp didn't work. The room was also quite cold. For a suite, the double bed with separate single duvets was not really up to the standard... Read more

Then Hotel Europe is located at a short walk from the NationalThetret stop for the Oslo Metro; as also from city Centre. The railway station is a bit of a hike but walkable. Also, the neighbourhood of the hotel is amongst the best in Oslo in terms of manicured beauty and major institutions such as the National Museum being close by. The hotel itself is highly adequate if a bit cramped since it is located in a converted old building and the floor plan takes a bit of getting used to. The rooms are... Read more

Be specific when booking your room. My husband, grown son and myself were given a very shabby room with two twin beds and a flimsy fold out bed. The manager said that was the only fold out bed they had. The next day we saw another larger room with a sofa and asked to be changed. We paid $48 more for two nights for a cleaner better bed. The rooms were very warm which I know is unusual for Oslo weather so we asked for a fan. The manager went out and bought a very small fan for us. The good thing ... Read more

The room slept 4 - two on a bed settee. We were a party of 3. It was a corner room so very light and airy. No air-con so had to keep windows open which meant it was quite noisy at night as the roads were used throughout the night. Although a little dated, the room was very clean. The corridor could do with redecorating. The staff on reception were always friendly, polite and very helpful. The buffet breakfast was excellent - incredible selection. The free tea and coffee machine in the recep... Read more

Of the various Thon hotels on Oslo, this one probably isn't the most central location, but it's an easy walking distance to the National Theater station if you need to get downtown. It's also a pleasant walk to the Aker Brygge harbor area for dinner. There was nothing remarkable about this hotel except the breakfast! They have an excellent spread including fruit, meats, cheeses, various breads, scrambled eggs, fried eggs and bacon, make your own waffles, I could go on. My friend and I happily ... Read more

Our stay there was fine, and it is in a great location, walking distance to museums, city hall, the kingâ??s palace, and the harbor. There are tram stops just around the corner, and the metro and station for the train to the airport are a 5-minute walk. Breakfast was a great buffet. The shower made the floor wet, and I do not understand the lack of a tub or lip to keep the water at the shower. The TV was very inconvenient, with 5 clicks just to watch BBC. This was quite an enjoyable stay at the Thon Hotel Europa. The rooms are quite cozy but enough space to navigate! Twin beds, very comfortable, but the pillows are extremely soft...there is a breakfast buffet with an excellent staff! The food looks good and tastes better, the chef prepared waffles are excellent...thin and very flavorful! Full buffet with many choices for breakfast and being Norway, a nice selection of seafood also. Lunch is served in the diner and a café is attached for dinn... Read more

A comfortable city centre hotel with comfortable well equipped rooms and a good choice for breakfast. Not far from the Royal Palace and convenient for the city's many attractions. We booked online which was very straightforward. The reception staff are very helpful.

I cannot complain on location. Close to the Royal Palace and the main street. Comfortable rooms, although those on the 2nd floor seem to be to close to the garbage disposal. 7th floor room have nice balconies. The meals are rather tasteless.

We were in Oslo for the Constitution Day celebration and the hotel was located within easy walking distance of the Royal Palace and parade route. When checking in, the person behind the desk did not have any information about the start time of the parade and other activities which made it hard to plan. The people staffing the desk the next morning were more knowledgeable. The hotel was clean and adequate with averaged sized rooms and an average breakfast offered. The hotel is also easy walki... The hotel is an anonymous chain hotel, and the rooms were a bit tired. But it was clean and tidy and the location was both quiet and central, being across the road from the royal palace and within an easy walk of the major sights. The staff we saw were all young, accommodating and really friendly. A good hotel to use as a base.

A nice hotel,in a quiet neighbourhood,in a walking distance from places of interest. Karl Yohan Gate is a 5 minute-walk from the hotel and about 15 minutes walk to the Oslo Central station. It is surrounded by means of transport,so you can easily go everywhere you want. The room was very clean, the breakfast very good and the personnel of the reception always willing to help. Recommended.

This was my first time at this hotel. Very nice welcome by a very service minded man behind the desk. The location is good, you can walk to the main street in Oslo, Karl Johans gate, in 5-6 minutes. The room had a very nice size, and the breakfast was very good. I am positive to use this hotel again some other time.

Oslo does not offer many choices and this hotel is a good choice if you are a visitor who is interested in the Peace Palace, the docks and the Viking Museum. Otherwise it is pretty dull and dated. In August it was full of tourists with not a business man in sight.

Having very reasonable price, hotel was great. If you are looking for a nice clean room to sleep over, good breakfast and great location, this might be your goto place. Hotel staff is very young and friendly. Internet access works great. Tv sucks if you don't pay for it (only 8 tv channels). Room service is outsourced (afaik), skipped it. If you need a place to rest between tourist routes, give it a chance.

Upon check-in, when we requested for a room on the high floors, Thomas at the front desk was not only kind enough to fulfill our request, but also upgraded us to a suite. This has never happened to us in Europe before so we were extremely delighted. Needless to mention, the suite on the 8th floor beat our expectations. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we have had in Northern Europe. There was a huge spread of cold and hot items, including traditional Norwegian delicacies. Thanks for a wo... Read more

I was there for three nights. The location is just a short walk from Kark Johan's Gate with its much more expensive hotels. The building is a bit dated, but the rooms were quite clean. The only electrical outlets were a few along the floor boards. The bathroom was very small but functional. The first room that I saw was on the second floor facing a street with light rail. The staff here was absolutely delightful. This hotel is well situated to explore lovely Oslo. We walked almost everywhere but the metro is just a block away as well. DO eat at Indi Spice just a down the street. DO visit the Nobel Peace Museum and the Munch Museum, DO stroll along the waterfront. A healthy breakfast at Thon will sustain you through the day and super cozy beds will wait for you at night. Real windows open up for the breeze., so nice. Thank you Yassin and friends!
