I stayed at this hotel on an "emergency" basis, because my planned hotel was on strike! It is very centrally located, the staff are friendly and the hotel and rooms are very clean. Because the strike also affected my hotel, there was NO cleaning or sheet/towel changes while there, but that isn't the end of the world. It isn't a luxury hotel, but it was very nice and I would consider staying again.

Due to the strike the management of the hotel was completely not thinking out of the box, I almost had to beg at the reception after 1 week to get my room cleaned up. At a similar occasion it's the least that they should offer discount or somewhat extra as this is not what I am paying for. The flat "smart tv" doesn't handle portable drives at all - however this is 21st century. There were no coffee I could take at the bar however it was advertised. Radiators were hard to setup for a comfortable ... Read more

The hotel is perfectly situated a very short distance from the central rail station and within a couple of minutes of several tourist attractions. The room was fine - good size, clean and quiet. Breakfast was included and it was superb. Overall, the hotel was really good value for money and helped make my trip to Oslo a great one.

I was the first time in this hotel and was really surprised of a nice service, room etc. Hotel is very close to the main train station. It's placed at a very busy street but even when you room is to street side the rooms are very quite and you will be not disturbed of noise. Breakfast is really good and with a lot choise. I enjoyed my stay in this hotel and will book it again for my next trip to Oslo!

The Royal Christiania is an ideal place to stay in the heart of downtown Oslo. The staff truly goes out of their way to make their guests comfortable. We were very impressed with the quality and professionalism of the front desk staff. The rooms are extremely comfortable and well designed.

Stayed here for almost 2 weeks. The location is great as its in the heart of Oslo City Center and most things are within walking distance. One piece of advice would be to provide facilities for tea/coffee to the guests either in room or in a common area somewhere.

Nice, large hotel with a good breakfast and in the middle of downtown Oslo. The only downside I could think of is the air condition not functioning fully, and not the best bed I have experienced. Great view of the city centre.

I stayed two nights while presenting at a nearby conference. The location is extremely convenient, just a short walk from the central station, which is in turn a short train ride from the airport. Buses to tourist locations (Aker Brygge, Viking Ship Museum, etc.) leave from just in front of the hotel (and you can buy tickets directly using a mobile phone app) The hotel was full of various large tour groups, who tended to arrive and leave at the same time, making the breakfast area, lobby, lif... Stayed here for 2 nights on a business trip. It's close to the central station. I was given a high room, 1408, which had good views over to Aker Brygge. Beds were comfortable and the buffet style breakfast was great with a lot of healthy options. I took the green stay option, where you can choose to skip a room clean and your points get donated to charity. What a great idea Clarion! Does anyone miss that clean? This hotel is in a really central location, and offers large rooms (we had a roomy suite), but they are dark (lack of lamps). Nice bathroom, heated towel rack. Free wi fi, excellent breakfast with loads of choices, but busy, since this is a huge hotel. We also had a (expensive) drink in the hotel bar. The elevators are glass, so it's fun both to travel in them and to watch them ascend and descend!

This is an old hotel. Staff is friendly, but lack knowledge about Oslo. Breakfast is just OK, most of food was always cold and tasteless. Outstanding - starts with a sensational receptionist (Henrietta) providing a welcoming smile and local knowledge and never takes a step back from that standarde.Atrium style hotel. Quality property. Excellent central location.

It is nicely located, few steps away from the main train station, and not far from the gorgeous Opera House and the lovely Karl Johans Gate. It is an impressive building with over 400 rooms, with beautiful lobby (when i first entered the hotel, my very first impression was: I like it a lot! Later I changed my mind) and a grand courtyard. When it comes to the rooms, it is less impressive! Rooms are pretty small, good beds, tea/coffee facilities, small fridge, the predictable clarion-hotels dƩco... Read more

A Group of us stayed here on a Sunday evening prior to a seminar. Sitting directly across the street from the Central Railroad station makes this an ideal location if you have out-of-town visitors. The restaurant was closed, but the TGIFridays is conveniently NeXT door, as are other eatery at the station. Breakfast is well-endowed and offers something for every taste. The rooms meet a good European standard. Staff are GREAT! and very helpful With small services... all-in-all a good night!

This hotel is in a great location very near the train station. Visiting Oslo on our own this was very, very convenient. I would recommend upper floor, which they gave us and highly recommend the breakfast that was included. The hotel is used by tour groups and a Globus group was staying there at the same time we were. I can only think of one thing that I would rate lower than excellent and that would be the wifi. Free wifi but it was slow. We would recommend this hotel and would stay there... Read more

My wife and I spent the last weekend at Hotel Clarion Christiania. Both the room and bathroom were spotless clean, the bed was very comfortable. Excellent breakfast! The staff at the reception were all very friendly and helpful. We chose this hotel due to its location, downtown right across Oslo City and the train station. We could hear some traffic (trams) since our room was on the 3rd floor, but one cannot blame the hotel for that... All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and will surely retur... Read more

This a very large hotel it is centrally located, you can walk to most attractions in downtown Oslo, including the Opera House, the National Gallery and the parliament, the city hall and the governmental office buildings. The viking museum, the folk museum, Vigeland Park all can be reached easily with public transport. The rooms were nice and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, the lounge and patio are nice place to relax.

We booked a superior room in order to have a little more space and quality. The room was in the 9th floor, it was large but odd-shaped. The bed was in a narrow corner and there were no bed side tables. The bed was too narrow for 2 to sleep in. The biggest dissapointent was the quality of the matteress, it was lousy. The matress was very soft and the middle of it was substantially lower than the edges. It felt like there was a hole in the middle. We could hardly sleep and my back hurt on the ne... Read more

Easy to walk or take public transport to many attractions. Large hotel with nice central atrium which some rooms overlook. Quiet rooms with large TV. Beds not the most comfortable, 4 pillows each, one of which is way too large to use except as a body pillow. Roomy bathroom with large shower, unusual for Norway.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. You can't go wrong. It's situated right in front of a mall, oslo city and the central station. So you can basically go from the airport straight to your hotel (Take the Flytoget, the cheapest and most convenient way to get to the city). The hotel is huge. Rooms are big and clean. The dining area needless to say is also huge. They always expect lots of guests. This is my hotel of choice when visiting Oslo.

I had my first skincare treatment by Cecilie when I was 17. Now, itā??s nine years later and I still come back whenever I feel like my face needs a freshening up. Iā??ve tried other beauticians over the years, but Iā??ve found that their treatments simply donā??t compare to hers. I truly believe Cecilie is the best in her field! I love the equipment she uses to get rid of blackheads; itā??s kind of like a small vacuum machine for your face and it really clears your skin. Iā??m not sure why I hav... Read more

Front desk personnel were not helpful or friendly. They need training. Room is too dark, bathroom was like a sauna, we were told that hotel managed the temperature and it was the same everywhere, but no one else in our group had a HOT bathroom. We had to leave the bathroom door open the whole time just for the bathroom to be bearable. Bathroom faucet was lose, and the shampoo container on the sink top was empty. Don't the room stewards report things that need to be fixed? Or remove things to be ... Read more

Our room was on the 8th floor overlooking the Oslo central train station. Location was fantastic and easy to drag our bags to the train for our ride to Stockholm. Hotel was probably a little larger than our usual and we felt a little "left to our own devices" despite the sign at the entrance saying "Clarion Loves You". We were just a seagull at breakfast which is not to say breakfast wasn't good just there are a lot of people. The hotel had a Friday night DJ which was very loud. It did finish at... Read more

The hotel has a good location and acceptable food. However, our room left much to be desired. Very poor lighting, power plugs in awkward places, sink water not hot, and no suitcase stands, were major items that were lacking.

First off, location is right across street from Central train station and walking distance to all main sights of Oslo. Just a wonderful place to access the city and then take train to next stop in Scandinanvia. I stayed in a suite. It felt like 1990s luxury.. all gold finishing. No outlets near the bed or anyplace convenient. Room was clean but just felt very outdated and worn. Also, like most European hotels, did not have enough glass to protect the shower from putting water outside of the... Read more

The location is perfect when arriving with the Airport Express Train and close to much of Oslo. The hotel is partly a building from the Olympicsā?? in 1952 and partly a new building. I got a room in the part from 52, however everything was nice and comfortable, including a very nice bathroom. The breakfast is nice however the breakfast restaurant itself looks more like a cantina. Overall a good choice.

The hotel has a central atrium where breakfast is served and some hotel rooms face into this space. Others face out to the street. My room was a double bed facing the street and it was very small with little room for much else. Bathroom ok and everything worked apart from on the first night when the heating did not. After calling reception I was advised they would turn the heating on. Nothing happened so I called again and was advised I would be transferred to housekeeping. Was transferred to a... Read more

Very close proximity to the central train station in Oslo but there must be better choices... i had a room where the windows did not open. I called the front desk 3 times to see if they could service my Room A/C. When I actually went to the from desk - they told me that the hotel didn't offer A/C!!! Pretty frustrating! The pool is pretty "odd/noisey" but the spa facilitates & service were good. The only thing that that really saved me was that there is a TGIFriday restaurant attached to the... Read more

Location - perfect. Staff - not so much. First night we arrived and there was a loud fan in the bathroom that would not stop working. The manager came into our room, looked at it and said nothing he could do. He did not provide a single solution and said himself that this is not a noce building nor a well working place (didn't give us much confidence when the manager was saying such things). Stayed 2 nights. Its a very popular center located business hotel, always crowded. This time I got an old room, with a teared down bathroom. The contrast is huge compared with the newer rooms in this hotel. You really never know what you get. I think the room was icecold, not able to adjust it. The knob for heating did not respond, seems overrided centrally. Bed was new and really nice. They forgot to provide coffee on day 2, after cleaning. After a call to the reception about it, the...
