First of all, this hotel is overpriced! We paid slightly over 1500 NOK for one night in a standard room with breakfast. Thatâ??s way too much for one night in a 3 star hotel if you ask me. Our room was OK, but small, and the bathroom was old and cramped. The breakfast wasnâ??t that impressive, as many of the basic breakfast things (like butter) was empty when we came, 1 hour before closing, and the waiters did not bother to refill. When we checked out and wanted to leave our luggage for a fe... Read more

Was fortunate to have a corner room with three windows giving lots of light and good views. The service was typically Norwegian, efficient and polite. The hotel was clean and the bed was very comfortable. This hotel is situated just 300m from the harbour and is on the central pedestrianised road so is lively during the day but quite at night.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in late May and were very impressed. The staff were very helpful in all our interactions, rooms were clean and comfortable, we were on the 6th floor, power shower in the bathroom with shampoo, lotion, shower cap and additional soap for your use. In addition, in the room there were robes and slippers, oh and a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, not to mention, mini fridge ( with items already in) fan, kettle ( selection of teas and coffee) large tv, couple... We stayed as family of four for two nights and it was a good stay. I'd say that the room was slightly cramped with a conventional bed and a bunk bed. It easily accomodates a family of four while sleeping but there is'nt really much space to move about the room. There is free Wi-Fi that works normally. The breakfast is seved at the Egon restaurant adjacent to the hotel (breakfast included in room price). The breakfast is very good and should suit most taste buds. Stayed at Thon for a night in June at room 323. The hotel is new and located near Bergen Port. The room was clean and it is very nice decorated. The bed was very comfortable and I had very good sleep. Staffs both at front desk and at the breakfast were very friendly and helpful. One thing I gotta say here is the breakfast at Thon Bergen was just supurb. Full of varieties and good quality food. Probably the best I have had with many hotels I have visited. We were booked into this hotel at the beginning and end of our cycling trip around Norway and found it excellent, with the exception of the breakfast. The hotel has a great location and is within easy reach of the fish market, port, shops and restaurants, and is just a few minutes walk from the airport bus stop (you get off at Festplassen on the way from the airport, and on at the stop near the Radisson Blue Hotel Norge on the way back). Enjoyed our stay at this very conveniently located hotel. A very short walk from the airport bus drop off and then only a few blocks to catch our Norway in a Nutshell Ferry a few days later. The rooms are very nice and the breakfast was amazing. Besides eggs done 3 ways, there were meats, lox, herring, Fruit, cereal: a real banquet! Good blackout shades for the summer months too!

Despite a great location in the city center, this hotel is usually a nice and quiet place. Plenty of things to do within walking distance, and there are several good places to eat nearby. There is even a McDonalds in the same building, if you get desperate. Among the staff you can of course run in to the occasional idiot, but they are usually ok.

I'm an experienced traveler and in my nearly 60 years on this earth I've stayed in everything from dives in Mumbai to the Presidential Suite at the Hotel Vendome in Paris. The hotel is well located to walk to the sights. The room was good, especially as there were three of us and it had a bed separate from the main part of the room which was ideal. Breakfast was a bit of a stampede - the room wasn't big enough for the number of guests so getting something to eat at peak times was hard and when food or drink ran out it wasn't replaced very quickly. Otherwise a great place to stay.

It's location is great, walking distance to many places including the royal palace, Karl Johan's, the wharf, The Central train station and bus terminal. The service at the hotel was good, at the reception they were polite and friendly. The room was very basic, clean, minimalistic furnishing, I would have liked a night table next to the bed, but the chair had to do. Very modern, Scandinavian feeling. This hotel has all you need; short distance to city centre, great breakfast included, service minded staff. The rooms are clean and ok. Not giving it a total 5 star as I think that other hotels have the little x factor that makes it even more great (supper included, more modern rooms, more focus on eco friendliness etc).
