The service is excellent! The crew is very kind and you get any help, you need. Rooms are big enough, clean and have everything you need inside, including a water-boiler. Wifi is free. The centrum is near, even "Bryggen"

First of all, this hotel is overpriced! We paid slightly over 1500 NOK for one night in a standard room with breakfast. Thatâ??s way too much for one night in a 3 star hotel if you ask me. Our room was OK, but small, and the bathroom was old and cramped. The breakfast wasnâ??t that impressive, as many of the basic breakfast things (like butter) was empty when we came, 1 hour before closing, and the waiters did not bother to refill. When we checked out and wanted to leave our luggage for a fe... Read more

Great location, cozy hotel. Staffs are always helpful and with a smile. The hotel is centrally located in Bergen city. It was clean. We stayed for 2 nights. Breakfast was very good. A value for money in Norway.

Was fortunate to have a corner room with three windows giving lots of light and good views. The service was typically Norwegian, efficient and polite. The hotel was clean and the bed was very comfortable. This hotel is situated just 300m from the harbour and is on the central pedestrianised road so is lively during the day but quite at night.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in late May and were very impressed. The staff were very helpful in all our interactions, rooms were clean and comfortable, we were on the 6th floor, power shower in the bathroom with shampoo, lotion, shower cap and additional soap for your use. In addition, in the room there were robes and slippers, oh and a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, not to mention, mini fridge ( with items already in) fan, kettle ( selection of teas and coffee) large tv, couple... We stayed as family of four for two nights and it was a good stay. I'd say that the room was slightly cramped with a conventional bed and a bunk bed. It easily accomodates a family of four while sleeping but there is'nt really much space to move about the room. There is free Wi-Fi that works normally. The breakfast is seved at the Egon restaurant adjacent to the hotel (breakfast included in room price). The breakfast is very good and should suit most taste buds. The Egon restaurant has a nice an... Read more

From the moment you reach the Torgalmenningen Square and see the Thon Hotel from there, you know you've made the right decision in choosing your Bergen Hotel.. I mean what an absolutely fantastic location.. right on the square.. 5 minutes walk to Funicular, 10 minutes to the Wharf, 3 minutes to the waterfront, 5 minutes to the cruise ship departure port.. 5 minutes to the Train station( 8 minutes with luggage). And the experience gets even better once you enter the hotel.. its a nice clean,mod... Read more

Nice hotel with a great breakfast. Clean rooms with an amazing strategic location in Bergen just by the famous Torgallmenningen. It is very close to great restaurants and walking distance to all major sightseeing sites in downtown Bergen.

Stayed at Thon for a night in June at room 323. The hotel is new and located near Bergen Port. The room was clean and it is very nice decorated. The bed was very comfortable and I had very good sleep. Staffs both at front desk and at the breakfast were very friendly and helpful. One thing I gotta say here is the breakfast at Thon Bergen was just supurb. Full of varieties and good quality food. Probably the best I have had with many hotels I have visited. Highly recommend if you happen to be in... Read more

The hotel situates right by downtown walking street of Bergen juxtapose to McDonald. No parking facility. It looks modern clean and simple. Service is good. Breakfast is in its own Egon restaurant which we found very crowded the day we were in. Overall very good value with short walking distance to the fish market and Bryggen.

We were booked into this hotel at the beginning and end of our cycling trip around Norway and found it excellent, with the exception of the breakfast. The hotel has a great location and is within easy reach of the fish market, port, shops and restaurants, and is just a few minutes walk from the airport bus stop (you get off at Festplassen on the way from the airport, and on at the stop near the Radisson Blue Hotel Norge on the way back). Our rooms were compact, clean and comfortable and were e... Read more

Superb location in the heart of town. Comfortable bed in a clean room big enough for two with a modern bathroom. Free wifi and tea/coffee. Breakfast at Egon was very good. All the staff we encountered were professional and very helpful. Thanks for the vote if you found this helpful.

Enjoyed our stay at this very conveniently located hotel. A very short walk from the airport bus drop off and then only a few blocks to catch our Norway in a Nutshell Ferry a few days later. The rooms are very nice and the breakfast was amazing. Besides eggs done 3 ways, there were meats, lox, herring, Fruit, cereal: a real banquet! Good blackout shades for the summer months too!

Despite a great location in the city center, this hotel is usually a nice and quiet place. Plenty of things to do within walking distance, and there are several good places to eat nearby. There is even a McDonalds in the same building, if you get desperate. Among the staff you can of course run in to the occasional idiot, but they are usually ok.

I travel a LOT. I spend around 100 nights a year in hotels all around the world, but mainly in Europe and the US, with occasional trips to the Far East and Middle East. I'm an experienced traveler and in my nearly 60 years on this earth I've stayed in everything from dives in Mumbai to the Presidential Suite at the Hotel Vendome in Paris. My stay at the Thon Hotel Bristol in Bergen ranks as the most memorably appalling stay in a "proper" hotel in my life... The room was TINY, with barely room t... Read more

We stayed 3 nights and were extremely satisfied with this hotel. The check in was effortless, the room was clean, hotel location is very convenient, right in the city center and also close to the train station. The breakfast buffet is absolutely first class, with plenty of delicious choices.

This hotel is based by Torgallmenningen til town square at Bergen. Very central and walking distance to nearly all sights and places to visit in the beautiful town on the Westcoast of Norway. Good rooms, clean and nice staff at the reception. A varied breakfast, but maybe a bit crowded at breakfast time with to few tables.

This was booked by our tour group and it was well located for getting to various areas of the city. The staff were friendly and helpful. When entering the room was comfortably cool, but when I opened the bathroom door, I was hit with a blast of heat. You step up into the bathroom because the tile floor is heated! Someone had forgotten to turn the heat off. One of the rarer hotels in that it had a tub/shower combination, but the tub is small. I'm just under 6 feet and I could had to keep my... Read more

The hotel is well located to walk to the sights. The room was good, especially as there were three of us and it had a bed separate from the main part of the room which was ideal. Breakfast was a bit of a stampede - the room wasn't big enough for the number of guests so getting something to eat at peak times was hard and when food or drink ran out it wasn't replaced very quickly. Otherwise a great place to stay.

We stayed 5 nights in Oslo, and 4 nights were at Thon Hotel Bristol. It's location is great, walking distance to many places including the royal palace, Karl Johan's, the wharf, The Central train station and bus terminal. The hotel has a very traditional design, not modern or clean line type. The triple room is big, clean and quiet. I personally prefer modern and contemporary accommodation. Overall, the stay was pleasant but the breakfast area can be improved. The actual breakfast area is small,... Read more

We made reservations for two singles one day before travelling - this may perhaps be taken into account. The hotel is right in the city centre, meaning some people noise from the street in the (late) evening. Premises are clean and proper. Staff is friendly and helpful. As for negatives - the rooms were quite small and the bathrooms uncomfortably so. A large or a tall person would have to sit sideways to use the toilet, and the shower area felt cramped. Breakfast was served in trhe neighbouring ... Read more

Great location in central Bergen, within short walking distance of two of the most visited tourist attractions in the city: the Bryggen and Mount Fløyen. Our room was clean and comfortable; the staff was always very friendly and helpful. There's free wi-fi, although it was very slow and unstable (at least in our floor). Nice breakfast too!

The service at the hotel was good, at the reception they were polite and friendly. The room was very basic, clean, minimalistic furnishing, I would have liked a night table next to the bed, but the chair had to do. Very modern, Scandinavian feeling. There's no peephole, security chain on the door, but it does have a lock that worked, and also showed outside 'red', so the housekeeping could see it. The bathroom had a bathtub, with a warning that it is slippery when wet, yes indeed. Not mat or s... Read more
