Hotel ok, location fairly good (although Bergen is very easy to walk around) Rooms were not turned down or towels replaced for three days due to the hotel strike in Norway. This was only made clear At the bottom of a 'welcome email' from Comfort Hotels just 1 day before our trip. This meant we couldn't cancel and change locations due to their policy on prepaid hotel bookings... Very unfair. Towels replaced and no obvious place to find replacements (even though a note in the lift said they would... Read more

This hotel is adequate, nothing fancy. No bathtub only shower in our room. Breakfast is above average - variety of bread, cheese, meat, fruit, jam, coffee, tea, juice, cereal. Good location. The hotel was in the middle of a strike when we were there - didn't effect us really, but the housekeeping was at a minimum (no cleaning if you were there multiple days), clean towels on carts in the hallway if needed.

Centrally located hotel in Bergen. Small shower in the bathroom. Comfortable bed. There was a strike going on when we visited, so I think not all facilities was working at their best. The female in reception when we arrived was a bit grumpy and not very service minded. Rest of the staff seemed OK. Breakfast OK too. Could stay here again, but not my first choice in Bergen.

This is a pretty spartan hotel. The location is good - downtown across from the Hanseatic quarter and near the fish market. The amenities - meh. I've seen worse, but not much worse, particularly for a place that doesn't bill itself as budget.

The room was a comfortable size and we could open the window and get some fresh air. The price was very good but the hotel could do with an upgrade. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice. The location was also convenient to the harbour and downtown .

Bergen is such a fantastic city; so walkable, a great harbour, and great people; this hotel was no exception. Within walking distance of the harbour, a quiet neighbourhood, and simple (but functional and pleasant) rooms. I ended up with a room on the top (7th) floor. While it was a tad inconvenient that my windows looked right out onto the adjacent rooftop terrace, they still provided a nice view of the city and the neighbourhood below. The room itself was great; comfy bed, good sized bathroo... Read more

Good location but needs renovation. Superior room but no shower curtain so everything got soaking wet every day. Hot breakfast was cold everyday. Hotel was fully booked so couldn't change room and no effort to do anything.

Staff was efficient and professional. Breakfast was plentiful. Wi-fi was good. However... Our room was a non-smoking room but there was burn marks on the edge of the sink that suggested the room was not always a non-smoking one. Also, the bedding, especially the pillows, smelled of stale smoke. Further, the seal on the showered door was cracked/missing; allowing water to run out into the bath room. The entry to the hotel was very dim and somewhat foreboding. A brighter entry way would cre... Read more

We found our room to be small but very clean and comfortable - all very basic but as you don't spend your holidays in your room was fine for the 3 nights we stayed. Breakfast was good and they made up a breakfast bag for when we left early in the morning. Free coffee and tea at reception was nice Good wifi Location was near the fish market - bus stop only a 5 minute walk - less than 10 minute flat walk to the main centre.

The hotel is pleasant enough, but quite overpriced for the facilities. The breakfast room was far too small for the number of guests, but the food was OK. The double room was quite small - but very clean - and the bathroom, particularly the shower unit needed updating. Very good location, close to the town center.

The location is good. The beds were nice, and the breakfast adequat - but that's about it. The sink is inside the room. The door to the shower can only be opened half way - as it stops crashing into the toilet. The room is really badly insulated. I was woken up at six by my neighbour using his/her toilet. It sounded like it was righ next to my bed... The furniture in the breakfast room is really worn down. At this price this is not good enough.

The room was quite small, a good bed and clean. The shower was small but it worked ok though. The showerhead was really poor. Service was fine. The capacity of the morning buffet was to little. Long lines and waiting time, that said, the food was fine and there was plenty of it. I particularly liked their scrambled eggs. Because of the space issues both room and buffet, I will not give more than 3, but potential for the fourth definitely there when they solve the buffet lines and wait.

Glad we stayed here, very close to the old town markets, eateries, and harbor. We walked to these places. Tea and coffee always available. Wish parking was free, but it is not too far away. The breakfast had a large selection of cereals, breads, meats, cheeses, fruits, eggs, meats and juices. We would stay there again.

Nothing special or remarkable about the hotel's aesthetic. However the prices are affordable, the location is good and quiet, and the rooms were clean. The breakfast was decent but could use a little extra something since the eggs and bacon where soggy. Also there's no toiletry items in the bathrooms, just a plain liquid soap dispenser on the wall- so I recommend you bring your own, including a washcloth as I've noticed hotels in Norway don't provide them.

Our travel agent made this booking. The room was pleasant and clean. We did not eat in the hotel, but it looked like the food would have been good. We were just there for a quick overnight between a cruise and catching the plane home. We had to walk a fair distance with luggage to get to the bus to the airport, which was not great

Rooms were outdated. Could definitely use a little renovation. Elevators were small and old. There was a strike when we stayed here so there was no housekeeking. The hotel did its best by having a rack full of towels so guests could just grab one if they want to. Location is good. It's near a shopping street. Restaurants and cafes by the harbor are also around the area. Regular room can fit 3 persons by adding extra bed. The toilet & shower and the sink are separated so it was really easier to u... My wife and I along with 3 other couples stayed at this hotel recently for one night before departing on a Viking Cruise the next day. The hotel is located in a good area of the city, near the dock with shops and restaurants right near it. The rooms are tidy, clean and very reasonable in price. The breakfast is very good with many choices and hot items too. This hotel would be a good hotel for families too and I am pleased to recommend the Comfort Hotel Holberg to you.

The hotel is very well located, low walking distance to Bryggen. Difficult to park, though, if you go by car. The room is functional, clean and has enough space (even with baby bed, as it was our case). Breakfast is correct, maybe lacking sweet options.

We stayed for a weekend when visiting Bergen for a family wedding. The hotel is conveniently located in the city center, not too long walk from Airport bus stop - Fish-market stop. The room we got was spacious and clean. Bed comfortable. Bathroom a bit outdated, but clean and fully functional. Free wifi working fine. Breakfast in the morning was good with nice variety. All in all it was a good stay and for the price we paid I would stay there again.

I have really nothing to say: everything was just perfect, from the rooms to the staff. There was amazing breakfast every morning, with a wide choice. The location is one of the most prominent features, since you could go anywhere on foot and it is 5 minutes away from the fish market. Lovely structure and a beautiful terrace with a marvelous typical view of the city.

The hotel is well located, walking distance to Bryggen. We had a room for three people. The room looked dated, and the bathroom small. It was on the third floor, no sights. The suppletary bed was small and uncomfortable, it would have been better a matress on the floor. Breakfast buffet was good

Fin utsikt. Men det er også det eneste som er bra. Skittent, nedslitt og dårlig frokost er nøkkelordene. Nice view. But it is also the only thing that is good. Dirty, shabby and poor breakfast is keywords.

They sent us an agressive taxi driver who charged us for no reason. In the morning they allowed us to bring people and in the night when we arrived they said we couldn't. There's no communication and they are unorganised. But the worst is that instead of saying I'm sorry and try to do something they just say it's not their fault. The worst service I've ever encountered in a hotel.

This is a good place to stay for a short weekend. The breakfast is decent, the beds are comfortable and the staff is polite. The rooms are old and the location is out of the city centre; however takes only 15 min to walk to the fish market. Good for families.

This is a very hard review to write, but I truly felt that the front desk did not care about the guests. We stayed on the 7th floor. What they did not mention when they gave us the key is that only one elevator goes to the 7th floor. So, we got into the first elevator to arrive - it could only take us to the 6th floor - we had to get out and find out for ourselves. (truly, a little heads up from the front desk would have been good.) The room and bathroom was clean but the bed was the most uncomf... Read more

I have stayed in this hotel many times for some years ago before the renovation took place. Now the breakfast is with very limited selection. The restaurant is both expensive and the food scarce. Do not take You dinner here. Go to "Matbørsen" 5-10 minutes walk. I can not recommend this hotel. This is not value for money.

I have been staying in Comfort Inn and other Nordic Choice hostels for the last 6 days and this is the scruffiest one. Not the norm for this chain. The staff as ever are great but the hotel is tired with broken, chipped and damage fittings. A less than average room with hardy any workspace. Breakfast was below average and most of it lukewarm.

A decent price - not the fanciest / most modern layout or room but it was comfortable enough. No problems with the room, breakfast was nice with plenty of choice + free unlimited tea or coffee at any time. Free Wifi and access to an iMac in reception which was cool. The hotel is undergoing a renovation of some kind, presumably to update the interior to something a little more modern. Service was super friendly so felt the need to leave a review - thanks for making it all a bit easier!

This is your basic no frills hotel. Rooms are in need of some TLC, but should be much better in May 2017 when the remodel is due to be completed. We stayed on the3rd floor and were not bothered by any noise from the construction workers. This hotel is in a prime location, guiet yet close to city center. Breakfast is fair, missing lemon for the tea which was kind of a downer. We would come back again due to the location, newly renovated rooms, decent price.
