Nice and newly renovated hotel with a great location right on the "Bergen Brygge". The room was nice and spacious (Tower Suite). The breakfast and evening meal is somewhat disappointing. The selection is not to great, and I would say that the quality of the food is mid range. In totalt its a great hotel, and on my top 5 for Bergen.

We stayed in this well located, pleasant hotel during the staffing strike. The staff remains coped really well under difficult circumstances. Our room was overlooking the harbour. It was well appointed and clean and promptly attended to. The restaurant's free buffet was a find in a city that is generally expensive.

Beautiful building, common areas and architecture. Very professional and wonderful front desk staff who tried hard to please guests despite bad situation with strike. Breakfast rooms/restaurant very nice decor/atmosphere. Rooms and some common areas have dated gaudy decor in bright Barney purple and chocolate brown, not in keeping with the absolutely beautiful building and tower. Also this hotel is on the water in Bryggen, the old town which is very cute, but newer Bergen hotels might be nice... Read more

We spent 4 nights at this hotel. When we arrived, we were told that there would be no complimentary light supper as there was a strike at our hotel. Our hotel room had sand on the floor and in the closets. We did have clean sheets and towels. The room was not cleaned in 4 days while we were there. I had to go to the front desk to get a hairdryer that worked and new light bulb for the bathroom. Our keys twice had to be magnetized as they quit working. I had to wash our glassware myself. The... Stayed here for 2 nights (not back to back) in June 2016. Location is unbeatable, right at the end of the Bryggen Wharf which is exactly where you want to be in Bergen. We actually stayed here for a night, left for somewhere else, and then came back. Staff was very accommodating in allowing us to store our bags with them for the day we were away, which we greatly appreciated. We got upgraded 1 night to a larger room, which was extremely unexpected! Hotel serves breakfast, a light afternoon ... Read more

This hotel was in the perfect location. The free breakfast, mid afternoon waffles, and free dinner were delicious and really saved a lot of money because eating out is expensive in Norway. Our room was small and hot but the small room size is not unusual for Norway. It was unusually hot while we were in Bergen which I am sure was the reason for the hot room. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Be sure to ask for a key to visit the tower. Wonderful view from there.

This hotel is within a stone's throw from the postcard image that Bergen is famous for, the series of colourful Hanseatic buildings that line the eastern side of the harbour. It is across the road from the Bryggen Museum, where you can join a walking tour of Bryggen and its three museums. The hotel is in a 1920s classic building and offers three grades of rooms - standard, superior and deluxe. We had both a standard and a superior room. I booked this hotel last minute so I did not have any time to research it. It did not matter. It is an old holder right-smack in the middle of the warf that you see in all the photos. It has the modern amenities but with older charm. We utilized the evening light-meal and the morning breakfast buffet. Both were good. Parking is underground (out front) and not associated with the hotel. Pay the machine, place ticket on dashboard. After you click up to so many hours (I think around 6) it j... Read more

After hearing about unfriendly staff and overpriced food in Norway, we were worried; however, this hotel put all of our concerns to rest. The staff was top notch, the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and the offer of three different meals throughout the day--for FREE--meant that our family (of six) barely spent anything on food. The "light evening meal" isn't a 5-star dinner, but it was fresh, had aplenty of selections, and was substantial enough to keep everyone happy. The mix of old build... Read more

Steps from famous Bryggen, this place must be a real money-maker! They probably could get away with doing not so much and filling up, but they provide breakfast, snacks and dinner, which is great in expensive Norway. There is a fun tower you can get a nice view from at the top of the hotel. We had to ask for a key to the tower, and if you don't know about it, I don't think they bother to mention it. Couldn't ask for a better location in Bergen. Very comfortable hotel with good facilities. The Breakfast and the Complimentary evening buffet were very good and perfectly adequate as your evening meal. The only complaint we had was that our room was very small and overlooked a central courtyard, so no view at all. Perfectly comfortable just a bit small.

The Havnekontoret is located toward the tip of the Brygge, which is a fine location for exploring the tourist center. Bergen is a lovely town, though, best explored by leaving the touristic center and heading into the back streets. For that, we wished we had been located more toward the center, because walking in the incessant rain was not what we had in mind. All that said, the "light evening meal" is more like a full buffet, and a welcome respite from the never-ending assault on one's pocketbo... Read more

If you can, it is worth the money to upgrade to a superior/deluxe room which afford the very best views of the Bar... Read more

We had a wonderful stay here in Bergen. This hotel was one of the most expensive hotels we stayed at during our stay in Norway but offered breakfast and dinner, sauna and late afternoon snack. Our room had a nice view of harbor and mountains. Staff was helpful. Room was a nice size with a heated floor. Breakfast and dinner offered modest options easy to find something to eat. Hotel is in a great location close to harbor and museums. We would suggest this hotel to others.

On very short notice the staff was able to find us a triple room. From then on, whatever was needed they provided whether it was an extra pillow, towel or even an adapter to charge my iPhone ( mine broke). The price of this hotel is very reasonable since it includes a nice, filling breakfast and an equally nice dinner with the added bonus of fresh waffles in the afternoon! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel has the basics. Rooms can be outdated - mine had old stained carpet. This is an old historic building so you can't expect a modern room. The bathroom was ok - the towels are thin and no wash cloths or floor mats are offered. Amenities are very basic too but most people come to Bergen for sightseeing and you don't usually plan to spend a lot of time in the room. I did have a great view of the water from my room and it was very quiet. The bed was comfortable. No clock is provided... Read more

This hotel was convenient, the staff was helpful, and our room was lovely. Our cruise ship docked two blocks away from the hotel, so we could easily walk there in the morning with our luggage. The staff kept our luggage at the desk until our room was ready, and the clerk kindly upgraded us to a nice room with a view. The room rate included a buffet dinner and a buffet breakfast, both of which were very nice. The hotel is also right in the middle of the wharf area which has shops, restaurants an... Read more

Wonderful location, Great Value, great staff. When you look at all the postcards showing the historic view of the buildings and the ships in the wharf, you can stay right in the clock tower. This is a great value as you receive a wonderful breakfast and managers dinner each night, with the high costs of meals this was a nice plus. The first night I must admit our room was tiny, outdated and near the elevator. We checked in very late due to travel snafus, and the hotel was sold out, this is what ... Read more

This is a solid hotel with many amenities and a convenient location, but it definitely feels like a large business hotel. It seems like it caters to large tour groups, cruise ship travelers, and business travelers, and it has many of the conveniences that go along with that, including a helpful front desk and included breakfast and dinner, but it lacks some of the charm and personality of some smaller Clarion Collection hotels. It was fine for our quick one-night stay, but if we had been in town... Read more

My fiancee suggested this hotel - to be honest I am always sceptical of hotels that offer dinner as part of the package. On arrival we check in until 15.00 so had some drinks and relaxed in the spacious lounge. The hotel is very pretty and is in a fantastic location. We checked in and the room was good - the view was not fantastic but still good. Kudos to the bed it was excellent. We went to dinner and sadly the food was not the best (am being polite here). There were two hot foods - Pork or Sal... Read more

Got the pleasure of staying here for 7 days. Historical environment and outstanding crew. I recommend Havnekontoret for business and pleasure. Elin (reception) made the stay for me, with handling with all my demanding wishes, I can very much be a lot to handle, in terms of service. All of the employees made my transition from my favorite Bergen hotel no13 to Havnekontoret less sad :-) Book here!

This hotel is in a perfect location in Bergen, in the Bryggen area on the wharf. Easy walk to Rosenkrantz Tower, the fish market and more. The staff is kind and helpful. We upgraded to a superior room on the top floor of the old building with a full harbor view. SO worth the upgrade! The bathroom had a heated floor, very nice, spacious room. The view of the busy, bustling harbor was wonderful. The only downside (as with most European rooms) is there is no where to put your clothes, so you live ... Read more

We recently stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. They upgraded our room voluntarily as soon as a superior room became available. Clarion Hotels are a little dearer and let's face it Norway is expensive at the best of times - but the price includes a lovely breakfast as well as waffles in the afternoon and dinner in the evening. This can make a huge difference to your budget. The only down side we experienced was that the hotel has no parking and the pu... Read more

We just loved this Hotel. It is right in the heart of Bergen so you can walk to all the sights, the funicular, fish markets, old town, shops, harbour and information centre. The room was very small and we looked out to a courtyard of offices. This was the only disappointing thing. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The dining room served a great breakfast. Complimentary waffles and jam are served from 3pm and then there is a complimentary evening meal with wine. They have some really inte... Read more

We spent one night at this hotel and it was fine but nothing remarkable. This hotel??s location is truly its best feature. It is located steps from all of the best historical sites in Bergen. Check in was a bit tedious. There was a long line and only one person working the front desk despite it being a Saturday evening. The hotel??s website boasted parking options adjacent to the hotel, but we were told that the nearby lots were ??likely?? either full or closed and while the front desk ... Read more

Easy walk from our express boat from Flam. Located where one can take the local hike up the hill, view the harbor, access restaurants, find shopping and all of the local sites on the tourist hit list. Breakfast and dinner buffets were provided each day which gives you the opportunity to get a good meal and not waste your day and dollars looking around for a good restaurant. Fitness center is available and sauna's as well as a deck to view and get a layout of the city. Great value and quality... Read more

The best feature about this hotel is its location. It is within walking distance of the pier, the fish market, the historic wooden buildings and museums. The building itself is a historic building and guests can get a key to the tower to get a panoramic view of Bergen. A buffet breakfast and dinner is available which is a plus as Bergen is expensive. Skip the afternoon waffle treat, as the single machine is slow and you could be waiting a while. A small gym in the basement with basic weights... Read more

We stayed two nights, got a great room partially overlooking the harbour. Very nice and quiet, huge plus. Very nice common areas. Food left some to be desired, not comparable to Thon Rosenkrantz at all, in either service or quality. Roughly same price. Didn't get a double bed, two beds together that kept sliding away from each other. Work-out room was more symbolic than useful. Service was good, but not over what is expected in price range. Best placement in town for tourists.

I have had the pleasure staying at the CC Hotel Havnekontoret several times. This is A pearl of A Hotel, and by far the best in Bergen. Large well equiped Nice rooms , superb personal staff, A very Nice evening buffet , and delicous breakfast . Even A fitness centre and possibilities for late check out. Best of all- the always smiling "Captain of the Ship"-managing director Hilde-encouraging her staff to do their outmost best. Already looking forward to my next visit.

Great location, helpful staff. Upon arrival we always check the beds, by lifting the sheets to inspect the padding. Our first room had staining on the pillow top mattress the size of dinner plates. We requested a room change and again the padding was stained but to a lesser degree so we decide to keep this room. The sheets and pillow cases were in both rooms very neat and clean, no issue there. The staff moved us without hesitation. One down side is the bar is very small and staffed only by t... Read more

We stayed here for three nights, and everything was just perfect. The Airport Bus (Single Fare Kr 115) stops very near the hotel - its last stop. And the return bus is from the side road just across from the hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful; and our room was excellent - on the side road, so quieter than the front, but with a lovely bow window from where we could see the waterfront. We recommend room 316 for that reason. WiFi was free and a good connection. From Reception, y... Read more
