Catching up on some reviews from late last year, so this is not as recent as it looks. That said, it is every bit as good as it looks. The town of Granada is almost always on the itinerary when I get to Nicaragua, and Hotel Dario is my destination of choice. We had a nice room overlooking the main pedestrian street this time, and it was very nice. One of the best features of the hotel, though, is the large interior courtyard with a fountain and many tables for both restaurant and bar servi... Read more

This hotel was the first hotel of my week in Nicaragua together with my daughter. The room had a great view, as asked on the volcano, Mombacho, but the noise from the street was a bit too much. The ear stops on the night table (should have warned us...) did not help at all. Good size room and clean. Breakfast was ok with good Nicaraguan coffee and fresh delicious fruit. The pool is rather small, but very refreshing. Perhaps a few more beach chairs? The garden is very green with the beautiful pl... Read more

he hotel is beautiful. It has the colonial style of Granada and wonderfil gardens. Real feel of getting the local flavour. The rooms have a good size and the bathroom was huge. We traveled with our 1 year old baby, so the big bathroom was really a plus. We had a room upstairs, it has lots of stairs, but the room was quiet and it had a nice view to the pool. The negative: breakfast was poor. First day at 9.30 am they went out of eggs, second day they were out of 'gallo pinto'. I guess you should... Read more

Upon arriving in Nicaragua at Granada we went straight here and we were not disappointed! This place had great views from the balcony and the rooms had tall ceilings (on the second floor). We were greeted with welcome drinks which were so nice with the heat! The bar downstairs had 2 for 1 drinks and we loaded up on those! Outside its right next to everything; city center was a few blocks away. Great nightlife and didn't have to go far at all! Staff was amazing! Also no bugs in sight in the rooms... Read more

If anyone wants to travel to a colonial city, then head to Granada. Great view, wonderful food, and a staff that would be at home in any hotel in the world. Any words more that I might say, cannot do this hotel justice.

â?? I liked this one for its historic feel. It is right on Calle de la Calzadaâ?¦the party streetâ?¦.and this could be a problem. Donâ??t get a balcony room on the front unless you want to be up all night with the noise. Choose instead one of the quieter rooms in one of the back patios. FYI â?? beware the steps. AC in rooms but not public areas

This hotel is an architectural jewel, beautiful rooma and garden, the special events venue behind the hotel it's also beautiful and you should check it, totally worth it. We had a room with a balcony, facing the beautiful Mombacho volcano, it was just awesome, however the noise coming from the "Party Street" could be a problem for some people, in that case, request your rooms in the back, by the swimming pool, it's quiet there. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast which is included is v... Read more

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in Immediately upon entering the Dario you know you are in for a treat. The reception and courtyard ooze colonial style. Front desk staff are helpful and knowledgable about local surroundings and acquired members of staff to help with our bags - a nice touch after a bumpy 2 hour transfer. The rooms are spotless, very nicely decorated, again in a colonial style. Air con is powerful. The rooms were made up every day by the housekeeping staff to a similar ... Read more

This hotel was nice but not more then that. Some staff was really really nice but others where almost unfriendly. A recomendation is to not do laundry here since it is really expensive. Breakfast and The whole resturant area was great! I recomend it.

I spent a couple of days with my family in beautiful Granada. This was our first trip and, I'm glad to say, the hotel was a significant part of an overall wonderful experience. The room was immaculate. The one we stayed in had a lovely balcony facing the La Calzada street, the main artery of night life in Granada. The staff was so kind and helpful that we are planning to stay in the same hotel next time we visit Granada.

The Dario was a pleasant surprise bursting with colonial beauty and staffed with a very friendly and professional staff. The rooms are great and the food is incredible. Don Ramon at breakfast will serve you with five-star excellence. Definitely coming back.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and loved our balcony room overlooking Calle Calzada and Mombacho volcano. We had no trouble sleeping and the AC worked great. The pool is pretty small but it cooled us off after touring the city. The hotel is beautiful with high ceilings and we liked the balcony off the front of the room and the sitting area off the back. The location is ideal also and the staff were helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

The Alhambra and Hotel Granada were very nice. However, the Dario is, in my opinion, the best location being directly on Calle La Calzada. Alhambra is at the far end of the Central Square and Hotel Granada is at the furthest end of the city. All within walking distance of anything you'd want to see in Granada but The Dario is directly in the center of ALL activity and the staff, rooms, breakfast and ambiance are tremendous. I've travelled extensively and this would be the only hotel I would stay... Read more

First off the Location was perfect. I went with a team of 20 people. We would walk to the town square everyday. If you want to do any shopping or if you're looking for a good restaurant, Hotel Dairo is located in a very convenient location. The Staff was second to none. They went above and beyond everyday. They even put in an extra bed in my room for me. They took our order everyday for the following day, and they had our meals hot and ready. The food was not only safe to eat & drink, but it was... The Dario is by far one of the best hotels I have stayed in, even compared to some hotels here in the states. The hotel itself is very open with plenty of room to lounge around. The staff is extremely accommodating and very friendly. The cafe within the hotel is fantastic (I personally recommend the chocolate cheesecake). If you need something a little more local, right outside the cafe is a nice street that has plenty of restaurants and vendors. There is a room called "the blue room" that is a ... Read more

From the moment I walked in, amazing hospitality around a luxurious atmosphere. This is a beautiful establishment, air conditioning, large rooms, pool, restaurant, cafe, lounge area, complimentary breakfast buffet, and the friendliest staff I have come across. The rooms were spaces with great showers and nice AC. The breakfast was delicious with an omelet station and service. The chocolate cafe was delicious!!! The location is fantastic. Here is a summation: Pros: *Literally right on the main street for nightlife *Really nice and attentive staff *Really pretty grounds...like a picture *Really good breakfast and probably the best layout I had in ALL of my Nicaragua and Costa Rica travels *Just plain nice :) Cons: *Right on the main street for nightlife! After the first two nights...got kinda old (and noisy). *Bathrooms a little dated. Clean but.....well, just dated. Basically ... Read more

hotel dario is very nice and well kept. people there are very nice and it's a pleasure to stay there. breakfast is great and rich, one of those all you can eat, that will make you very happy, and it's included in the price. rooms have a/c, are clean and confortable. location is good. it's located on a crowded street with lots of restaurants and bars, close to atm too. it can be noisy, yet we had no problem to sleep tight. you can safely park your car on the back door: they have a guardian and a ... All around fine hotel. For the same price, there are better options, especially Hotel Plaza Colon. Cleaner, larger, better service, more hospitable, better facilities (especially the pool). The rooms are small, a little worn around the edges, beautiful hotel but a little worn. If you want to be located right on the Calzado (noisy, lots of bars and restaurants) this is the place - but if you prefer to be close, but not in the thick of it, there are many other options around.

Hotel is situated on the main street where all the action happens, good for restaurants and bars, bad if you have a room at the front for noise. I loved the colonial architecture, rooms are quite small with bathroom a little dated. Small outdoor pool. Breakfast was good but nothing special. Downside to our stay were the staff, unfriendly welcome, some came across as aloof or a little snobby. Overall enjoyed the stay, staff just need to leave the attitude at home.

A beautifully-maintained Spanish colonial hotel. Friendly staff and excellent location. The balconies provide amazing view. You'll find included amenities that are out of the ordinary for Latin America. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
