I'll keep this simple. Tired outdated rooms. Rude staff. Not even a small table in the studio room. All this could be forgiven but for that noise. Our studio connected via an internal door. The guests in the neighbouring room were not loud at all but I draw the line at being able to hear someone sit down on the sofa or stiring a cup of black tea with one sugar (yes, I heard the woman say how she liked it) all this for a very pricey $145 dollars. NEVER EVER AGAIN

We stayed a night here and for just $80 we were quite impressed concidering some of the poor reviews we had read. Bed was comfy, shower had good pressure, grounds nice and spacious and unit tidy. Took less than 5 minutes to drive into Taupo for food etc and 5 mins to Huka falls

Despite all the negative feedback for this place I found it to be fine especially when considering what it cost. My room looked exactly like the pictures. It was very clean and well equipped. Yes the walls are thin but my neighbours were reasonable. Overall not as bad as what feedback might have you believe, give it a go especially if you're on a budget

We really enjoyed our stay here last night. Was such a great price too! The studio room was clean and it was so quiet. We had everything we needed and was only a 2 minute easy drive into Taupo. Excellent value for money we will definitely be back again in the near future! Thank you !

Quiet area out of Taupo and near the Huka falls and other attractions. ideal for two couples travelling together. Neat and clean. Grounds are lovely and I can see why that have weddings here. Do need to travel back into town for dinner as their restaurant was closed.

A series of duplex cabin accommodations scattered around a large park like area. Can be a bit hard to find, turn left at the church then right onto the resort. Not well signposted. Located off the Huka Falls Road and a couple of kilometers from the falls. Would have liked to walk to the falls but there is no footpath and would have needed to walk part of the way on the road, and the rest on the grass next to the road. Check in was very business like. "Please pay and here are the keys and direc... Read more

We were expecting something special, but were very disappointed. I would describe the studio as more 'small bedroom with en suite'. The wooden steps to the veranda were wobbly, there was a hole about the size of a side plate in the carpet inside the door, and the decor was dreary beige. Reasonably clean, although needed a thorough dusting and the drawer for the dishes and cutlery had had something sticky spilt in it so I scrubbed it out. The bowls needed a wash too - looked like hot chocolate d... Read more

This resort is just 5 minutes away from the city centre. If you are looking in visiting the Huka Falls then this is a perfect place since it is less than 3 kms away from the attraction. Rooms are in a villa type construction. The one we stayed has two bedrooms. Separate toilet and bath. With its own kitchen complete with accessories. Rooms are spacious and has its own heater system. Everything is neat and tidy. I can observe that a lot has been done to maintain the place. I will surely consid... Read more

Great price mid week and outside school holidays when you take a chance and wait until 3.00pm to book. Walls were a little thin but okay with considerate neighbours. Quiet location. We booked a double room which is locked off from the rest of the bungalow. Hiring the whole bungalow would be great for families.

We stayed here for a Wedding in March. The cottages are cute but need some work done on them. They are spacious and self contained but everything needed up dating and was just average. For $250 a night I would rather stay in a more modern unit on the water front in town. On a positive note the church for the Wedding was lovely and the food was good for the reception. Still it was expensive for what it was.

The room was extremely cold. There was a heater and reception provided us with an additional heater due to the electric blanket being broken. The view down to Taupo and of the mountains in the background is breathtaking. I feel this would be a really great spot in summer but in winter maybe just a little too cold in the wooden cabins.

Lovely village atmosphere. Lovely little chalets that are like home away from home. Very Clean. Roomy. Big bathrooms. Great reception staff. Set in peaceful gardens. No smoking anywhere on the whole grounds!! Half way between Wairaki Thermal pools and Taupo town centre. Great spot. Our second time here, would come back again.

We spent two nights at Huka falls resort. The cottages are charming looking and were well appointed and it was a good central point from which to explore Taupo and Huka falls, until bedtime... Oh no! The mattress was ancient and we could feel every spring as it struggled not to cave in on itself! The toilet paper was cheap and nasty, the kind that comes apart when it gets wet and leaves bits where you don't want them. It was a pity. It had potential.

Went on the jet boat up to Huka Falls with my Niece and Nephew and it was amazing. My Nephew was a bit scared but the guy reassured him and was so good with him. Would recommend it to everyone and can't wait to do it again

Just out of Tapo, near the Hukka Falls, This 2 bedroom cottage was comfortable and convenient. Only let down the cafe -restaurant was not open. Has lovely surrounding grounds and carport to the side. The laundry was worn out and suggested they get a new one and clean up.

Such a gorgeous resort. Just a few minutes drive from town but far enough from the noise and over crowdedness of the city. The property is huge and surrounded by vineyards that you can walk through on a beautiful day. The units are laced with stunning updated furniture and modern kitchenware. We will definitely stay here again.

Looking for spacious family accommodation close to Taupo and the Ruapehu ski fields? Go no further then the Huka Falls Resort. At the top of town (literally), this accommodation offers lodge style cabins with multiple rooms, large kitchens and heating. Cabins are spread around the site and carports are offered next to some cabins. An outdoor pool is available but only in summer. Keep in mind, these cabins are timber and it is Taupo so it will get cold. The heaters do a fair job. Good location an... Read more

Stayed here last night, arrived around 6.30pm to be given the keys to our 2 studio units when we managed to find reception as the whole area is very poorly lit after dark. One of the units was ok clean and comfortable however the other had a used glass, opened soap on the side and rubbish in the bin. I called reception who said she could move us but that was after she giggled??? What's that all about?? However, I returned back to reception and was given the keys to another unit so popped luggage... Read more

We booked this place through booking.com at a last minute deal of $93 a night. The accommodation is attached units and are not sound proof at all. The first night we had a neighbour who left their t.v blaring in the lounge and went to bed in the adjoining room (they had a suite, we had the adjoining studio) at 1.30am we finally cracked and called the night manager...who told us there was nothing they could do as they were off site and to give it another hour and go knock on the door....We knocke... We stayed at Huka Falls Resort last Saturday and it was just perfect. The resort is mid-way between Huka Falls (with activities like Huka Jet, Huka River Cruise, Prawn Farm and so much more and the town centre (where you'll find Pak N' Save, Countdown, ANZ atms and a lot of retail places for a good shopping experience). It was about 2.5km distance each, perfect if you have a car. Location alone was already super awesome. The two-bedroom villa is perfect if you have kids in tow. They were able ... Read more

3 of stayed in a suite (1 bedroom with extra bed in lounge) and suited us perfectly for the weekend. Our friends were in the 2 bed unit next door and there was more than enough space for a family of 4. Very impressed with the spacious layout and cleanliness if the units. The quaint villa style gives the place a nice feel. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Nice bonus to have free WiFi. Great location, close to town and Huka falls.

The area around the hotel is incredibly beautiful like most of the country, we were there visiting friends and decided to drive down from Auckland to visit and the journey while fairly long was joyous just to view your surroundings. The hotel was fairly dated, the bathroom seemed to be from the 50's and the decor was exceptionally dated. The TV seemed to be from the early 2000's but that's not why you're there in my mind the hotel is good for a sleep it's a quiet area with its own car park and a... Read more

Booked the studio room, not realising just how basic it was. The room is clean and the bathroom is nice and a decent size. However, we found ourselves searching for a number of basic necessities. Things like no tissues in the room, or suitcase racks, or a table to eat breakfast at. The room had two sitting chairs, where one would have been enough, and the extra space could have had a small breakfast table and two chairs to be able to have meals at. There is no restaurant at the "resort"... Read more

Looooved it! We were upgraded and got the huge house instead of a room in the main building. The rooms are spacious, the houses are beautiful, the surrounding are great. It is super quiet and the staff is truly helpful. Fantastic surprise on our road trip.

Electrical outlet on the stove was taped over, kettle boiled on microwave. Dining room table chair joint was loose. Spa bath didn't work, when bath filled a yellow gunge came out of the jets. Had to call reception on personal mobile because phone in Villa didn't work, were advised it would be replaced the next day. It wasn't. Requested an oven tray, it was disgusting. Overhead bed lamp had cobwebs and dust in it. Deserves my poor rating.

Came here for a weekend away with NY partner and booked last minute the night before. I'm not sure if its because we booked last minute or maybe the fact that Taupo is so small but I would not consider this value for money considering the places I've stayed at in the past. The receptionist was lovely and very informative. The room itself is average at best..the couch and TV were so tiny it made watching TV awkward as you couldn't even relax on the couch. all of the furnishing look tired and old ... Read more

Stayed 2 nights in a studio unit that had a connecting door to the neighboring unit, but found it very quiet. Room is a bit older but we'll maintained and very clean. We opted for a "greenie" studio which basically means that housekeeping does not service your room, but was a little cheaper. Staff friendly and helpful. We paid $74 per night with free parking. All considered was good value for money. Will stay again

Receptionist was a friendly welcoming young lady, helpful and just right after a 17 hour car day. Arrived in the middle of a wedding reception near the check - in area, beautiful melodic Maori song filled the area. It was dark on arrival, there was plenty of turning space for the car and caravan. Villa was clean, heating efficient and bigger than I expected. We had a nice walk around the grounds in the morning. Definitely stay here with a family, the kids have space and it's safe for them to ... Read more

A bit eerie to drive in with multiple reproduced cottages... but they were lovely, well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, very private. Staff very helpful and enthusiastic. Amazing place to relax and enjoy the surrounds. Only disappointment was no onsite spa (but you can book a spa containing room). Would recommend to all and definitely stay again.
