This place was cheap. The TV didn't really get reception, if I remember correctly. However: it was clean, reception was nice and we had everything we needed. It's no frills, but that's what we paid for. However - because it is so very dark out there and a few miles from 'downtown' - I have never in my life seen stars like we saw them from outside of our room. It was amazing and is absolutely the reason I would say to stay here. Another fun fact - there are many ducks that I are probably... Read more

I have just spent two weeks here for a course and overall it was a great experience. The staff were just amazing, the food was excellent (catered very well to gluten free) and varied and the rooms were comfortable and very well appointed. The location was beautifully tranquil yet close to the town centre, and close to some lovely walks. We had a formal dinner on our final night and it was outstanding. Highly recommended.

We booked the suite and it was a little too cozy and the kitchenette was too basic. Next time go for the one bedroom. Location is off the beaten path and everything was a drive. Close to the falls tho.

We stayed here for two nights, I thought it was quite nice for the price. I wasn't overwhelmed, and we had some issues with the door lock (took quite a knack to actually lock it) but aside from this no problems at all. Rooms were clean, resort was pleasant and quiet and just a 5 minutes drive from everything you want to do/ see in Taupo. Easy to park and staff were very polite and friendly. Oh and the TV was on the wall behind the bed, kind've strange and difficult to watch...but it made us... Read more

I'll keep this simple. Tired outdated rooms. Rude staff. Not even a small table in the studio room. All this could be forgiven but for that noise. Our studio connected via an internal door. The guests in the neighbouring room were not loud at all but I draw the line at being able to hear someone sit down on the sofa or stiring a cup of black tea with one sugar (yes, I heard the woman say how she liked it) all this for a very pricey $145 dollars. NEVER EVER AGAIN
