Outstanding service from all the hotel. Nothing was a problem attitude. Service standards have really improved on our last two trips and this hotel is now one of our favourites. Stayed in One Bedroom apartment great size, everything you need and good view of the lake especially on your large balcony. Heated swimming pool and spa is a bonus. A big improvement in Breakfast service. Good coffees. Housekeeping was outstanding with all requests. Thanks for our Hilton Kids pack. The kids really like... Read more

Although a short drive from main centre, this is a classy hotel that we have stayed at on several occasions, usually with friends. Quiet well appointed rooms and amenities. We have not always used the dining room but when we have, the food and service has been better than average. One minor issue is that we pre booked two room on our last visit and one ( the twin room allocated) wasn't ready as such when we arrived around 6 pm. All sorted quickly and efficiently though.

We did expect quite a bit from our Hilton experience and sadly it didn't quite meet all our needs. Our rooms were clean and spacious but lacked character. The pool was not of great interest due to the cold weather but we enjoyed the spa. Next time we'd probably prefer to be closer to town.

Hotel located a few minute drive to CBD or a 15min walk along the path by the lake. This is great as its quiet and relaxing. The rooms are large, clean with all mod cons. Heater runs super and fast to heat up which is great in June. Great view of lake and snowy mountains in back ground. We enjoyed the spa and heated pool. We looked on line and saw there were rooms available. We called and made a booking while we were on root. We arrived 7 minutes later. We were told there was no rooms at that rate. It's probably the best out of the bunch in taupo, but still lacks that top quality level the hilton brand strives for on a global scale. the hotel building is very disjointed and having to walk outside in the rain to get to the restaurant and reception was a little strange. the restaurant is way too small for the amount of rooms available so we had to eat out on the 3 nights out of the 4 as they were booked out. we had a suite which was lovely, clean and very spacious. parking was hard to ge... Is THE place in Taupo for spectacular views and special occasions. I've been here for lunch with special friends by fireside, a nice place on balcony for drinks on a hot summery day, a drink after a hot soak in the DeBrett Pools in the valley below, and 3 Christmas Day special meals with Mum. Service is Tops, 'special attentive' without feeling 'space-invaded'. Atmosphere is really pleasant, 'affordably luxurious'.

We did a mystery night on Expedia and were stoked when it was Hilton Taupo, staff were very friendly and our room had great views (room 325) of Ruapehu and the lake. We had the wheelchair accessible room which was very large seemed like it was lacking furniture compared to other Hiltons we have stayed in but this might be because we haven't had an accessible room before. Breakfast was delicious and there pool complex was great! Will definitely stay again.

We stayed three nights at the Hilton and the service was fantastic, rooms immaculate and pool and jacuzzi were great. The Hilton Taupo was a very very nice hotel, however for our stay it probably didn't fit our needs. It was a little too far out from the mainstreet to be an easy walk and was located up a hill, so I would definitely recommend having a car if you stay here. First ever visit to Taupo was a letdown because of the hotel. Let me caveat everything by saying it was school holidays and some extremely ignorant parents allowed their rude, ill-disciplined and extremely loud children run riot throughout every nook and cranny, especially the restaurant and that is not the hotel's fault. Dinner was lovely without being anything special although the service was excellent. The maître de, Michael, and his staff were awesome. Breakfast was a shambles, poor service... Read more

Yeah it's a bit more expensive but it's pretty nice, good views, nice room, really nice bathroom with ultra heated floor. Spacious. Good service. Room service food was awful though - $40 for a cold burger that felt more like a $7 meal. Parking is $15 and well worth it in the colder months - the hike from the 'gravel pit' takes the shine off what is supposed to be a 'luxury experience'. Stayed from two days. Nice warm room since it was snowing outside. Had to park in lower carpark, wasnt impressed since its just a gravel spot, it needs to be tarsealed and painted carparks as people just parked anywhere. We had a lovely dinner, then went to pay the bill and was told that there was a1.5%surcharge. It wasn't a public holiday, the charge wasn't shown on either the menu or the bill. The staff showed us a VERY small sign in front of the till and said it was the credit companies fault. The meals were already Auckland prices so was shocked . I bet the surcharge is for tourists only as I can't see the locals putting up with that.
